“The Truth Hurts”: Trump Joins In On “Fredo” Mockery Of Chris Cuomo

Youtube screenshot

As many of you know, I am a constant critic of the loss of civility in our society. For that reason, I was not critical of CNN host Chris Cuomo when he reacted angrily to a guy who went out of his way to insult Cuomo by calling him “Fredo,” a reference to the weak, older brother of Michael Corleone. After calling Cuomo “Fredo,” the man mocks him further by saying “I thought that was who you were.” Cuomo responds with profanity, which is captured on video and went viral. I am sympathetic to Cuomo when people believe that they have license to insult celebrities and suspend basic rules of civility just because someone is on television. It is particularly disturbing to have the President of the United States join in the mockery and lower his office to the level of a troll.

In the  viral video Cuomo is captured slang “No, punk-ass b—-es from the right call me ‘Fredo.’ My name is Chris Cuomo. I’m an anchor on CNN,” Cuomo responded. “‘Fredo’ was from ‘The Godfather.’ He was a weak brother and they use that as an Italian slur — are any of you Italian?… It’s a f—ing insult to your people. It’s an insult to your f–kin’ people. It’s like the N-word for us. Is that a cool f—ing thing?”

First, two points of needed clarification. First, the analogy to The Godfather is misplaced. Fredo was the older brother of Michael and was upset for that reason in being “passed over” for head of the family after Sonny was killed. Chris Cuomo is the younger brother to Gov. Michael Cuomo. Moreover, being a CNN host is hardly an example of a failure. While Cuomo has garnered much opposition for his criticism of Trump on CNN, he remains a major media figure — hardly the sleazy sycophantic figure of Fredo.

Second, while Cuomo says that “Fredo” is the Italian version of the “n-word.” To answer his question to the heckler with the camera, I am Italian and it is not. (What is weird is that Cuomo himself once joked about being the Fredo of the family).

To his credit, Cuomo did apologize though the one most responsible in my view is the heckler: “Appreciate all the support but – truth is I should be better than the guys baiting me. This happens all the time these days. Often in front of my family. But there is a lesson: no need to add to the ugliness; I should be better than what I oppose.”

Trump however decided that it was appropriate for the President of the United States to come down in support of some bar troll who likes to insult celebrities. “I thought Chris was Fredo also. The truth hurts. Totally lost it! Low ratings @CNN.”

This tweet, like too many from the President, caters to the lowest common denominator in our society. It not only supports uncivil and rude conduct but actually joins in heaping insults on someone viewed as a critic. While many may enjoy this type of WWE banter, many of us do not. Many of us still respect the Office of the President as a symbol of our highest — not lowest — aspirations.

  1. I suspect before today, few knew of any link between Fredo and Mr. Cuomo. Now, thanks to his own actions, tens of millions are more pre-disposed to calling him that moniker.

People are their own worst enemy.

I look at the video not as an example of what I would expect from some hyas muckamuck at CNN, but rather just your run-of-the-mill Saturday night drunk causing trouble at a bar who in the ends goes to jail for disorderly conduct.

    Voter fraud is real:

Los Angeles county has a registration rate of 112% its adult population

The entire state of California has a registration rate of 101%

11 of 58 counties in CA have registration rates above 100%

Is this why California is solid Blue?

    1. California is solid blue because of the unopposed, unrepulsed invasion of parasitic foreign hyphenates facilitated by treasonous anti-Americans.

      Did you say, “Original intent?”

The American Founders thrice required citizens to be “…free white person(s)…” in their Naturalization Acts of 1790, 1795 and 1802 within the year of adoption of the Constitution. Communists in America believe they changed that “original intent” with the unconstitutional “Reconstruction Amendments” of the successors to “Crazy Abe” Lincoln.

  3. Here is a very short College Class on all you need to know about “Civility” for tone deaf people who believe their station in life, be it a tenured law professor, a foreign agent propagandist news media shiit, etc.., think they have risen above the Deplorable classes that actual make the gears of the world turn.

It’s the difference in real life between those easily offended Special Snowflakes that demand their “Safe Space” over the hostile calls for ” Civility” & real men that know when to stop backing up & say enough of this Bullshiit say I’ll show you Civility!

Notice Google/Youtube appear to be pulling the videos tonight of that Puzzy, Chris Fredo Cuomo, that called out that guy to fight & then ran when the guy, now provoked & in fear of being Assaulted, said ok, let’s do it, in Self Defence.

Buzz Aldin closes out this course on “Civility” in seconds.

    1. Behind every male to male interaction is the implicit threat of violence. It’s this basically psychology the young punk should have learned but apparently didn’t until he met up with and old – but game – lion. Game, set and match to the test pilot.

      1. Mespo, et al:

In that case with Buzz Aldin being harassed all parties were lucky.

1st. The guy doing the harassing was lucky Buzz didn’t accidentally kill him.

2nd. Buzz was lucky he didn’t accidentally kill that idiot.

It happens all the time, someone attacks the bull & they & some in public a shocked they get the horn.

In this case the Judge threw the case out against Buzz & Buzz didn’t file a case against the harasser.

Much of this keeps going back to the 1st Amd: Free speech, can’t yell fire falsely… people just can’t call someone’s mom or wife a whore, even if they are without expecting to get their azzes kicked.

Something SCOTUS: Them there are fighting words.

And if you’re in the USA feel lucky you have a 2nd amd Right to Guns as the people of Hong Kong tonight do not & are under the direct threat of being turned into Communist Slave because of no means of Self Defence.

      2. There were more the a few test pilots that died during test attempting to do what Buzz ended up doing in real time.

Fast reaction time like Mike Tyson I suppose.

      3. That video demonstrated how earnestly someone could be completely wrong. He harassed and insulted Buzz, so sure in his own conviction, yet so wrong. It is also of note that these people tend to target those they assume won’t fight back, in this case, an elder. However, that elder was a Korean vet with years of fighting experience. I think the other guy was still trying to figure out what happened, why his nose hurt, and whatever should he do minutes later.

It is very sad how a few people harass astronauts. They took incredible risks to pioneer space travel, and this is the lack of respect they receive?

        1. Hi Karen!

1st thing I thought of when I seen your name was I haven’t heard from Cindy recently. So I’ll just pray a bit for her & her husband.

But back on how crazy things have progressed over the decades, I’m shocked at how long these American Hatin Commies have been attacking us/USA from the inside.

I’m not a big Rush listener but in this clip today he brings up audio show Chris Ferdo Cuomo & his dad are both admitted Commies!

I see how most people can’t keep up with all this now days, I on the other hand waste more time then I should on it weekly.

          https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2019/08/13/limbaugh-fredo-cuomo-can-dish-it-out-but-cant-take-it/

When to fight & when not too?

          Then this:

          https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/08/13/exclusive-watch-leftists-threaten-before-shooting-at-ice-facility-we-know-where-all-your-children-live/

          1. Hi Oky – it’s definitely getting crazy out there, threatening the children of those working with ICE. That’s beginning to look like terrorism.

I’ve been wondering where Cindy has been, too. Hope they are okay.

  4. I just listened to the audio from Cuomo’s Fredo encounter, and was appalled. It sounded like he threatened to throw someone down the stairs because he referred to him as Fredo, which means a passed over son for a more meritorious younger one. He said Fredo was equivalent to the N word, which is patently false. He also threatened to commit violence. It sounded like he was pretending to be a mobster. Appalling and totally deserving of censure.

    1. Maybe he went to the same law school as Michael Cohen. Cuomo’s style and standards seem similar to wise guy wannabe Cohen.

      1. I think they’ve gotten their idea of what an organized crime hit man acts like from too many movies.

    2. It was uncivil to accost Cuomo at dinner.

But it was way out of line to threaten violence to someone because you did not like what they were saying.

      1. John Say – maybe Fredo Cuomo will now have some sympathy for people like Sarah Sanders who was harassed at dinner.

        1. Sarah Sanders and a mess of her relations were ejected from a restaurant because the staff and ownership did not wish to serve them. Jabbing an obnoxious media figure with a disrespectful nickname is about an order of magnitude less severe than that to which Sanders’ relatives were subject. (And Sanders and her in-laws just left; they didn’t make a scene).

      2. If I were a waiter on the second floor of a walk up Italian restaurant I would cross out the dinner selection, Fettucini Al Fredo, before handing the menu to Chris Cuomo.

  5. “I’M SMART…I CAN DO THINGS!” I have always called Ted Kennedy “Fredo.”

    1. Apparently the cable news outlets are not covering the Fredo-Cuomo debacle. Yet in spite of their duplicitous “coverage” the internet has already generated many memes about it. I learned about it from Meidiaite. Cue Peter Shill’s estrogen laced rant re: yada, yada, yada…hyperventilating…yada yada yada… thrusts red heeled pumps into the ground…yada yada yada…whataboutisms factorial

Cable News Shows Restraint By Not Covering Chris Cuomo ‘Fredo’ Beef
…the rival network, along with other cable news morning shows, entirely ignored the viral video of Cuomo throwing down. And as of the publishing of this post, the terms “Chris Cuomo” and “Fredo” have not been mentioned once on cable news. Shocker!

      https://www.mediaite.com/opinion/aint-no-half-steppin-cable-news-shows-restraint-by-not-covering-chris-cuomo-fredo-beef/

    1. I liked it when after the guy called Fredo Cuomo Fredo, Fredo Cuomo puffed up like a toad, with his security staff behind him & threatened to assault & beat up the guy up multiple times.

The guy finally had enough of Fredo Cuomo’s threats & calmly took off his eye glass & said Ok, lets do it.

And at that point Fredo Cuomo couldn’t hide behind security fast enough.

I”ll see more replays but that’s what it’s looking like to me.

    2. LOL. Close.

As I’m guessing you already know, the hobbit is Frodo. Anyway, good one.

      1. In response to this:

Independent Bob says: August 13, 2019 at 5:54 PM

        Wasn’t Fredo a hobbit.

    3. Just imagine how unglued he would have become if he was instead called Gollum.

  6. “Federal Judge Completely Rejects DOJ Argument – Orders ‘Archey Declarations’ (Descriptions of Comey Memos) Released…

A U.S. District Judge has rejected the DOJ and FBI motion to block the release of the Archey Declarations (descriptions of Comey memos).

In a strongly worded ruling (full pdf below) released moments ago, Federal Judge James Boasberg blasted the DOJ and FBI for attempting to change their filings, claim national security “sources and methods”, and block his prior court ruling – which instructed the DOJ to release the “Archey Declarations”. The judge is obviously angry:”

  7. Cuomo is With Out Papers. Trump is Shanty Irish. But what is worse is they are both from New York.

    1. Trump’s paternal-side relations were from the Bavarian Palatinate and his maternal-side’s from the Hebrides.

      1. Heterosis (hybrid vigor)

“The physiological vigor of an organism as manifested in its rapidity of growth, its height and general robustness, is positively correlated with the degree of dissimilarity in the gametes by whose union the organism was formed … The more numerous the differences between the uniting gametes — at least within certain limits — the greater on the whole is the amount of stimulation …

        1. hybrid vigor huh. but hybrids are usually less fertile than the strains they come from. sometimes

ole trump is quite prolific. not much of a hybrid except in a cultural sense

  8. I’m a Trump Fan and a Turley Fan. In this instance, the Professor is absolutely right. The President did not help a single American by jumping in to this mess. I don’t appreciate it when it happens to Sarah Sanders or Ted Cruz and feel no differently just because I don’t agree with Chris Cuomo.

    1. dallen 77,

That may be your belief but it’s most likely because you listen to most Fake News Bullshiit.

The Guy that released the Chris Fredo Cuomo video was on Infowars, Alex Jones Show & tell a completely different story then the BS you’re believing.

      1. Oky, everything sounds “completely different” on InfoWars. It’s called an ‘alternate universe’.

        1. How many viewers does Fredo Cuomo have left, 50,000- 100000?

Viewers Trapped at Airports, Geritric Centers…

And even at the Geritric Centers I’m hearing it’s sparking a light of life & energy to get up from being bedridden & take their cane & destroy the TV playing CNN or MSNBC.

          LOL:)

Even you can’t ignore the Fake News total financial Collapse.

WAPO, yesterday…. We have 3rd world shiithole Slave Labor! NYT, CNN, etc….

          What… 2Q Cable down another 1.5 customers.

          LOL Losers…

          1. Oops, typo:

            WAPO, yesterday….

We Have to Have 3rd World Shiithole Slave Labor !

            par-phasing…

  9. Comrade Fredo exhibiting reality – the blind rage of controlling communists. These communists mean it when they order people around. This is just like the striking communist teachers unions telling the taxpayers how much money they want and who’s really in charge (later on taxpayers learn that students fail SAT’s) and the other welfare and affirmative action beneficiaries who command “respect” and are placed on pedestals. It’s the communist “takers” dominion over the “makers.” Same thing in China – the mainland communists will soon bring death and suffering to bear on the freedom seekers in Hong Kong.

  10. Unfortunately, far too many “pundits” and cable news channel hosts have suspended basic rules of civility whenever they mention Trump, Trump supporters or others they may disagree with. Many of these hosts also claim to be “journalists,” yet they don’t follow the basic ethics taught in journalism 101 courses. Maybe the world would clean up its act, and civility could be restored, if only these opinion leaders led by example!

  11. Marc Randazza, one of Infowars lawyers & one of the lawyers that was able to get the appellate court to release the 2000 pages the Epstein’s Pedos claims last Friday will be up on the shows replay coming up again after 4 pm CST, 20 mins, on 24 hr replay.

I seen the very last part & thought his, Italian decent, comments about Chris Fredo Cuomo were very funny.

The guy there now is pretty good.

See you later Fredo! LOL;) Can you say Washed Up! LOL

  12. “I am sympathetic to Cuomo when people believe that they have license to insult celebrities and suspend basic rules of civility just because someone is on television.”
    ************************
His “celebrity” status confers no immunity. In fact, just the opposite since no one held him at gunpoint when he signed a multi-million dollar CNN deal to preen in public. And while it’s not fair game to insult the man (and Fredo isn’t an insult in Italian or any other language), likewise it’s not fair game for Cuomo to “punch down” to the heckler who handled it much better than our short-pants celebrity.

Cuomo just can’t handle the insults boomeranging back on him. Cuomo hearkens Dickens’ Marquis Evrémonde who becomes enraged after coins he threw to the father of a peasant girl his free-wheeling carriage crushed beneath its wheels is thrown back at him:

“You dogs!” said the Marquis, but smoothly, and with an unchanged front, except as to the spots on his nose: “I would ride over any of you very willingly, and exterminate you from the earth. If I knew which rascal threw at the carriage, and if that brigand were sufficiently near it, he should be crushed under the wheels.”

You reap what you sow and Cuomo’s profane rant rings like a school boy getting paid back for his bullying. No tears here.

  13. Many of us still respect the Office of the President as a symbol of our highest — not lowest — aspirations.

Come on Julius Caesar, if you don’t like the circus then stop feeding it.

  14. PROFESSOR TURLEY’S VIEW OF TRUMP..

    CHANGES WITH TOPICS

This was Professor Turley yesterday regarding the El Paso Shooter:

“The effort to blame the massacres on Trump reflect an ongoing effort to control speech by declaring certain words to be “triggering.” In this case, the meaning is literal”.

Here is Professor Turley today regarding Trump’s Cuomo tweet:

“This tweet, like too many from the President, caters to the lowest common denominator in our society. It not only supports uncivil and rude conduct but actually joins in heaping insults on someone viewed as a critic. While many may enjoy this type of WWF banter, many of us do not. Many of us still respect the Office of the President as a symbol of our highest — not lowest — aspirations”.
    ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Granted these comments don’t ‘directly’ conflict. But they clash to some extent.

The professor acknowledges, quite correctly, that Trump “caters to the lowest common denominator” He goes on to note that “It not only supports uncivil and rude behavior–
Yes, indeed, Professor, your summation is right on the mark!

But yesterday, when it came to the El Paso Shooter, Turley was oh so hesitant to admit that Trump may have influenced an unbalanced mass murderer. However the lunatic fringe is precisely who lurks at the “lowest common denominator”.

    1. Hill: “the lunatic fringe is precisely who lurks at the “lowest common denominator”.

      Indeed!

    2. “Hill: “the lunatic fringe is precisely who lurks at the ‘lowest common denominator'”.
      *******************
Looking over the Democratic field with their Marxist positions on just about everything, I’d say the “lunatic fringe” is nonpartisan.

      1. Meso, let’s go with that. One could argue that Trump has lowered the bar for not just presidential conduct, but for presidential sanity as well. And that may affect presidential politics for some time to come.

  15. For the last 2 years Cuomo has been slinging slilme, dirt and lies at Pres.Trump, almost all members of the administration including Kelly Conway and Sarah Sanders, at Catholic School boys who were innocent of hs lies, conservatives and Republicans. He isn’t even mature enough to slough off when someone calls him a name that has minimal connatations. BUT Cuomo has to use every foul and disgusting word he can think of in a rant that was disgusting and vile. It speaks to his lack of intellect that all he can think of is nasty and vile language to dispute a claim. Sad.

    1. SBG,
Chrissy can dish it out, but he can’t take it. Very Fredo- like.
I don’t like a lot of what Trump says, but in this case, I give him lot of leeway.
