NYPD Looks For Teenagers Who Beat 67-Year-Old Woman With Her Own Cane

We have yet another shocking videotape released by police of a mob of teenagers beating down a defenseless person. This attack occurred in Queens, New York where teenagers jumped from a late model Nissan Ultima and beat a 67-year-old woman with her own cane while taunting and laughing at her.

The attack occurred on August 4th and police released the videotape.

The teens stole the victim’s cellphone. As with earlier videos of arbitrary attacks, it is the utter lack of empathy or mercy that shocks the viewer. These teens clearly enjoy beating down a defenseless woman and laugh at her pain.

Surveillance video shows the woman struggling to hold onto her cane on 169th Street as a group of teenagers apparently tries to steal it. The group then appears to push the woman down during the attack, and while she was dazed and on her knees, not only did they steal her Samsung cellphone, but proceeded to hit her with her own cane, according to authorities.

Police are urging anyone with information to call NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA. Tips can also be sent via http://www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.

Street crime, including extraordinary rates of homicide are, an everyday problem where you have concentrations of blacks bar in two circumstances: odd little enclaves where affluent blacks have congregated and in localities where officials have the capacity and will to suppress the crime. Mass shootings are actually quite rare and white-on-black homicides of all types are quite unusual (you might have two a year in a metropolitan region of ordinary size).

        I was part of the CR movement while he was alive, before the CR Act of 1964, and in the deep south where blacks were not allowed in restaurants except for the back door pickup – they were the ones cooking the grits, ribs, cornbread and collards inside – or hotels and motels, and they drank from a “colored” fountain and used the “colored” bathroom. If you grew up in Houston, you know what i’m talking about. What did you do about it?

          Well, for openers, and as I have said before, I have a personal letter from Coretta that I received in late May, 1968, signed by her, addressed to me when I was in college . She wrote thanking me for my letter of sympathy to her after her husband was killed on April 4 of that year. Her letter has hung on our wall in every house I have lived in since 1968.
          Also, I dated a black college friend in 1967. And also, I dated a black man for 6 months in DC in 1971. We had to stop dating because his parents, postal workers, hated whites. I was not allowed in their home….and they were middle class..
          Oh, almost forgot….In 1967, my Baptist college glee club, with a black member, toured the South during Spring break. We were discriminated against because of that. We weren’t allowed in any restaurants…..and in Jackson, Miss, our lives were in danger when the Klan threatened us right before our concert at a Bapt church there. We had to hide under pews until midnight. But we didn’t cancel our 10 day tour.
          My home church in Houston had black members. Some in the choir, along with Koreans, hispanics,…..my father was choir director.
          Baptists celebrated other cultures and immigrants before it was cool.
          Any other questions, Mr. Sour Puss, or maybe I’ll call you Chippy, because of that ridiculously huge chip on your shoulder?

  4. In the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, two Hasidic men, one an elderly rabbi, were attacked in separate incidents this week. One victim was a delivery driver, sitting in traffic, and a rock was thrown through his driver’s side window, with flying glass cutting his eye. The other victim was taking his daily walk when he was attacked by an assailant who knocked out his teeth, broke his nose, and beat him to the ground with a large rock. He has been hospitalized. Video of both assailants shows young black men.

      There actually had been a major assault on a NY precinct station by thousands of Hasidics a few years prior to the Barney Miller episode.

    This isn’t anything new. If you followed the developments during the course of the Rodney King riots, you’d see all of the “righteous rage” directed towards Asians working their tails off in dicey neighborhoods.

      I observe they were not in the part of Queens that is mostly Chinese & Asian (Flushing). That is one of the safest parts of NYC. Old ladies walk around there late at night shopping for fresh foods in open air markets with no worries.

      Flushing is one of the most “racially segregated” NYC neighborhoods. Mostly Asian, very few blacks. Very little violent crime. Coincidence? I don’t know, just making the observation

        We had Chinese family friends’ of ours back in the day in Houston who carried guns, especially at their businesses. The people who messed with them the most and threatened them, were blacks. That was a real education for me because we were church friends with the Chinese, and they were so peace- loving. We had no idea about the animus blacks had toward Asians.. We were schocked by that!
        I think I remember hearing that the Asians and blacks were at odds with each other in the poorer neighborhoods of Los Angeles, too….again, because blacks robbed and bullied them.

        I suspect that this case was overblown by local law enforcement and by Heavy (who I usually go to for quick, relatively unbiased information on shooters and other high-profile felons). Reserving judgment as to any real plan to commit a mass shooter, as opposed to other possible explanations.

There is no escape after school, either, because their violent peers are out on the neighborhood streets. There is no safety for children unless they join with the bullies and violent for protection.

  12. Sweet Jesus, young people acting like beasts. Anyone who acts like this is unfit to live in society, and needs to be put on ice in prison. Some people are just determined to get locked up.

    It struck me that if 4 white teenagers assaulted an elderly black lady, the media, activists, politicians, Hollywood glitterati, etc would be absolutely certain it was racist. There is quite the double standard. I have no idea if this was racist, but it does underline the fact that the gender of the victim often triggers a leap to conclusions.

    I am so sorry this happened, and hope the lady recovers. Our values are decaying. Respect and care for the elderly are supposed to be a core value, but this is clearly not being taught to the next generation.

  15. Here in the State of Florida, since the victim is 65 years old or older, the perpetrators would be subject to a mandatory minimum prison sentence of three years. These animals merit far more time. Of course, in NYC, perhaps the authorities will lament the perpetrators’ hard lives, frustration about “white privilege,” and disadvantaged childhoods as a substitute for a public caning, fifteen years at hard labor in a maximum security prison, and jail time for the parents if such persons might ever be identified, especially the fathers if even known. Plus: no matter what the age of each perpetrator: each must suffer the punishments of an adult. Anyone who would do what they did cannot be deemed a child.

  17. It’s a reasonable inference this was a racially-motivated crime. It will not be recorded as such, of course. Television news is less inclined toward narrative-building than is the Sulzberger Bum Wipe, so they made no attempt to conceal this aspect of the matter.

    There are always people in the tail of the bell curve, and the only thing you can do with this sort of behavioral outlier is punish, deter, and incapacitate. The proportion in that tail vary from one era to another and from one coarse demographic category to another. Contemporary liberal culture (as manifest in Mayor Bilge diBlabbio) is so degenerate that it cannot uphold practical action when that means imposing ordinary moral standards on their preferred mascots.

    1. I do not think we are in agreement on the context for ‘nurture’. Blaming these kids’ behaviour on ‘the legacy of slavery’s or racism is not ‘nurture’.

      Nurture has to do with family dynamics and child-rearing, religious upbringing, the adults interacting with kids at school, clubs, sports.

      Single motherhood is one of the highest statistical risk factors for the children to live in poverty, do poorly in school, drop out, join a gang, engage in crime, do drugs, go to jail, or get killed. They grow up to continue the cycle of absent fathers and single mothers.

      I have no idea if any of these teens lived in single parent households. I speak of trends. This particular trend is blasting through the culture of not only black communities, but white, too. Anyone can act like trash, and single motherhood has the same affect on any racial demographic, outside of the super rich with an army of au pairs. As long as the communities most affected believe the rhetoric that it is someone else’s fault, that they are helpless to improve their lives and require government care, then this will only get worse. More children doomed to a bleak future.

      This is a symptom of the decay of Western civilization and culture.

      1. Youngsters in the care of single mothers behave comparatively badly when assessed cross-sectionally. However, you have confounding factors when these are assessed longitudinally and in aggregate. A higher share of the youth population is raised by single-mothers than was the case 40 years ago, but crime rates have declined over that time. You can’t do much directly about how people order their domestic life, but you can make other social adjustments which have salutary effects. Like throwing hoodlums in prison. The one thing you can do about single motherhood is stop speaking and behaving in ways which suggest single-motherhood should not be status-lowering.

        1. I don’t know that the results are the same cross-sectionally. I did take a class where info was presented which claimed white males raised by single mothers tend to be weak, directionless mama’s boys. They’re actually nicer people, being more compassionate and sensitive than white boys raised by men, but they lack the competitiveness and confidence and generally are unsuccessful, settling for low-level jobs such as retail clerks. Black boys raised by single mothers, on the other hand, tend to get in more trouble and have less ability or desire to control and conform their behavior. I don’t recall who produced the study, but based on casual observation, it appears accurate.

    4. That’s always been Big Education’s argument against home schooling and magnet schools – “children need to socialize with each other”. And these guys are what New York’s public schools produce. Sounds harsh, but during the Kavanaugh show trial Senate confrimation hearing, we heard an awful lot about the horrible people Brett Kavanaugh’s private school produced. So, fine. We have video of what “socialization” in school produces.

    1. The youths menacing Goetz had 19 arrests and 12 convictions between them. Over the previous five years, they had, between the four of them, been sentenced to a total of 120 days of incarceration in local jails. (Keep in mind local sheriffs in New York can let you out on parole after 2/3 of your sentence has been served). Only one of the four had ever served any time. (Michael Kinsley remarked at the time that the rubrics of how they approached Goetz appear to have been dreamed up by one of their public defender lawyers). The wretched irony is that the one with the least extensive record was the one paralyzed.
