CNN Uses McCabe To Analyze Allegations Against Trump On Whistleblower Complaint

The CNN has been criticized for its heavily anti-Trump coverage and comments over the years. It has also received widespread criticism of hiring Trump critics, including Andrew McCabe who was fired from the Justice Department and accused of an array of wrongdoing. He is also facing a recommendation for a criminal charge for false statements. This morning however CNN’s John Berman turned to McCabe to give its expert review of the serious controversy over an intelligence community complaint reportedly against Trump. CNN largely skipped over McCabe’s precarious legal position or the past complaints that he lied about past investigations.

I previously raised the same concerns over CNN’s use of James Clapper who admitted to lying to Congress.

As I discussed today, I consider this latest controversy to be quite serious and I have long criticized Trump for his mishandling of classified information, including his disclosure of classified information to Russian officials.

However, this is about journalistic integrity and it is quite unbelievable that CNN would not only hire McCabe (who is at the center of an expanding scandal) but use him on a story of this kind.

McCabe tells Berman that he knows “all too well” what whistleblowers have in disclosing information of wrongdoing. It was only after McCabe said “I have all kinds of issues” with the Administration that he shared his history and ongoing disputes.

I respect Berman and I think that this could have been an interesting interview, but it is the fact that McCabe was speaking as a CNN contributor and expert that made this so troubling from a journalistic standpoint. While the interview spoke of how Trump fails to follow basic rules and protocols in intelligence, there are also expectations and rules for journalism. Hiring McCabe and then using him as an expert on these stories is a remarkable departure from the expectations of media in my view.

    1. Enigma

I am sure you will have a difficult time remembering something that is still in your future. Now, if you ever leave the 1940’s or so, where you dwell, and enter 2019 with the rest of us, it would be easier!

      1. I’d have mentioned current Fox Contributors like Kellyanne Conway and Donald Trump but they’re still employed by the White House. Sarah Sanders only appeared on Fox News the last year or so of her job as White House Press Secretary because it came to the point people started asking her on air why should we believe you? I can get more obscure like famous liar Pastor Mark Burns and Darryl Scott, there’s Michelle Malkin who last reappeared to dance on Cokie Roberts grave (along with Trump).
I like referring to the ones we all used to agree on had lost their credibility, Iran/Contra and perjuring himelf in the most watched trial of the century. Things that we used to think were bad until the current age where treason is a badge of honor, along with indictments, jail terms, ignoring subpoenas, and of course lying and obstructing justice. Ollie North (who needs a job now) and Fuhrman who still appears from time when they need an expert on race-relations weren’t such bad references.

      2. Squeeky, it’s hard to grasp why you think Enigma lives in the 1940’s. Like people in our time think Fox News is ‘hip’..???

Squeeky, the only people who think Fox is hip are nasty Trumpers like ‘you’; mean spirited losers who fancy Trump as cool because he validates their ignorance.

  1. Well since the FBI at times goes after black hat hackers by hiring white hat hackers, perhaps CNN believes they’ve hired a counterespionage white hat to provide analysis. It’s not as though CNN’s current integrity and ethics reputation will suffer.

    1. I had hoped to cause the Trumpistas to come scurrying out like the roaches they are. 🙁

          1. OLLY – Obama thought Hope was a strategy

            Paul,
Obama had a vision to fundamentally transform the United States. He needed to get elected in order to work towards that vision and that campaign slogan was part of his election strategy. If he had any hope, it was that he would able to transform this country away from its roots in 8 years. The 2016 election cycle proved that hope a failure, despite all of his strategic efforts to undermine her opponent. Ultimately, those efforts will be exposed in the soon-to-be-released reports.

            1. Olly, we have to keep reminding Trumpers that Trump failed to win the Popular Vote in 2016. So your suggestion that Trump somehow won a mandate is factually inaccurate. I guess Trumpers keep thinking they’re talking to other Trumpers when they make these assertions.

              1. i observe that you are comforting yourself with the fact of the popular vote, when that is not what wins the election.

this is kind of like quoting favorable statistics when you lost a game. you still lost. we see this attitude in sports all the time. perhaps this is how you feel. I could understand that but years later maybe a good idea to move on from this.

              2. we have to keep reminding Trumpers that Trump failed to win the Popular Vote in 2016.

🤣 I’m reluctant to once again expose your delusion of importance, but why not. We know Trump didn’t fail because…he won the election.

So your suggestion that Trump somehow won a mandate is factually inaccurate.

Your delusions include claiming people say things that were never said so that you can appear to finally win an argument. I believe that’s called a strawman fallacy. The problem for you is I never suggested Trump won a mandate. Your desperation to be relevant is embarrassingly pathetic.

                1. Olly, you were trying to imply that Trump’s election represented the public will. It didn’t! Only 27% of the total electorate cast votes for Donald Trump. And even there Trump lost the Popular Vote by a margin of 2%. It had been 150 years since any president got the White House while losing by a 2% margin. It was a freak of an election and historians will frame it in those terms.

And by the way, Fox News released some poll numbers that don’t look good for Trump.

                  1. you were trying to imply that Trump’s election represented the public will.

I challenge you right now to copy/paste the portion of my post that implied what you claim. Break it down and explain how you came to that conclusion.

                    Ready. Go.

                    1. Olly, this is it:

“If he had any hope, it was that he would able to transform this country away from its roots in 8 years. The 2016 election cycle proved that hope a failure, despite all of his strategic efforts to undermine her opponent”.

“Obama wanted to transform this country away from it’s roots in 8 years”..?

What is that supposed to mean???

Obamacare was a very ‘light’ version of socialized medicine. It was, in fact, based on a model developed at The Heritage Institute.

The truth is Obama was ‘too’ moderate for all the ‘real leftists’. The Bernie Bros think Obama was a quasi Republican who was never left enough.

Therefore this idea that Obama was trying to ‘transform the country away from it’s roots’ is just an idiotic talking point from rightwing media that has little to do with any reality on the ground.

But maybe you’re right about one thing, Olly. The fact that Trump got the White House was a crushing disappointment to any American who hoped for a better future. In Trump we got an aggressively ignorant narcissist who utters falsehoods every day while giving hope to only racists and foreign despots.

                    2. Thanks for trying Hill. I applaud your effort to connect with the left half of your brain and this failure in no way should stop you from trying in the future. If you still don’t understand, try studying the process of presidential elections and look for references to where the popular vote elects the president. Come back only when you find it.

                    3. ” aggressuively ignorant narcissist who utters falsehoods every day while giving hope to only racists and foreign despots.”

Here Hill is insulting a large amount of the population including me. I’m not a racist or a foreign despot but according to this statement I am and so are about half of the people on the blog. He has been insulting people from the beginning to the present. Then he complains when he feels insulted. Hypocrite.

                    4. “Don’t take offense, they have a condition, not too dissimilar to Tourret’s”

Olly, I disagree with that. They are outright mean people and don’t care for anyone but themselves using race and ethnicity like toilet paper. The type of blog this is along with its lack of moderation leads to a certain group that has little knowlege and big egos to unload here totally uninterested in real dialogue. That is why there is little discussion of value.

I have been in other discussion with other people that are there for dialogue. They are not generally mean spirited.

                    5. Olly, I disagree with that. They are outright mean people and don’t care for anyone but themselves using race and ethnicity like toilet paper.

Allan, we can disagree on the cause, but the effect we absolutely agree on. Whatever the cause, it is so often illogical that I question that there is some conscious motivation.

                    6. Hill:

“Obama wanted to transform this country away from it’s roots in 8 years”..?

What is that supposed to mean???”

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
                      ― Barack Obama

“We are the change we have been waiting for.”
                      — Barack Obama

Nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.”
                      ― Barack Obama

“If there’s a child on the south side of Chicago who can’t read, that matters to me, even if it’s not my child. If there’s a senior citizen somewhere who can’t pay for their prescription, who has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer – even if it’s not my grandparent. If there’s an Arab-American or Mexican-American family being rounded up by John Ashcroft without benefit of an attorney or due process, I know that that threatens my civil liberties. And I don’t have to be a woman to be concerned that the Supreme Court is trying to take away a woman’s right, because I know that my rights are next. It is that fundamental belief – I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper – that makes this country work.”
                      ― Barack Obama

Change means you don’t like where we are. It means you don’t like it enough to move heaven and earth. That’s exactly what Olly said and more importantly exactly what Obama said. Think we’re better off now?

Maybe if your read more, we’d think you know more than half of what you’re talking about.

                    7. Mespo, of course we were better off when Obama left office than when he entered. To start with the crashing economy turned around, including saving the US auto industry and we are still on now the longest expansion since WWII. Americans without health insurance was at it’s lowest number ever and illegal immigration at it’s lowest since the late 70’s, and that was without the comprehensive immigration reform bill passed on a bipartisan basis in the Senate that Boehner wouldn’t allow a vote on, and led the reform of Wall Street laws and creation of the Consumer Protection agency. Internationally, Obama regained respect for the US, killed OBL while reducing US troops in Iraq, led international efforts to sanction Russia for it’s aggressive actions toward it’s neighbors, remove Iranian nuclear weapons development, create the TPP agreement to counter Fhinese hegemony in the region, and bring the entire world together on the Paris Accord.

These are the big things, there are plenty of small things. Historians were polled a year ago or so and ranked Obama our 12th best president.

                    8. After a “crash” the indices always look good because one is so low the only way to go is in the opposite direction. AS it approaches its former levels of well being those levels have already been moved upward in the 8 years due to inflation and normal growth. It is at that much higher point that one can really assess what is happening and when Trump took over many of the relavant economic indices were moving in the wrong direction. What one actually saw was the letter M where the first part moved upward at an incredibly slow speed over most of Obama’s years. Where it stopped rising is uncertain but then the second part of the M showed up where there was a decline in many important economic indices. When Trump came into office there was a rapid rise in the third part of the M and in 2020 we will see a further rise in the third part of the M or if a Democrat wins a completion of the M with a fall in the economy.

As far as most of what you say, the letter M describes that as well…Mendacity.

Black Americans Are Worse Off Under Obama

                      Deroy Murdock

Yet they still support him almost unanimously.
According to a Fox News survey released on Wednesday, Obama’s approval rating stands at 45 percent among all registered voters. However, among black voters, Obama’s job approval soars to 86 percent.

Given Obama’s devastating impact on black Americans, this is even more confounding than the whereabouts of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.

Obama’s election, no doubt, generated considerable ethnic pride. Seeing a black man (or, precisely, a half-black man) inaugurated was a truly exceptional milestone for all Americans — black and otherwise.

#ad#But Obama reached the Oval Office nearly five years and four months ago. Since then, his performance should have dimmed his halo among blacks, especially considering how much they have suffered on his watch.

                      • When Obama entered office on January 20, 2009, U.S. unemployment stood at 7.8 percent. By April 2014, that Bureau of Labor Statistics figure had fallen to 6.3 percent — a modest improvement. Among blacks overall, joblessness dropped, though less significantly — from 12.7 to 11.6 percent. But for blacks aged 16 to 19, unemployment grew from 35.3 to 36.8 percent.

                      • Obama’s somewhat more sanguine unemployment numbers, such as they are, seem less about job growth and more about people simply abandoning the workforce — whereupon they conveniently exit the unemployment rate. The more revealing labor-force-participation rate thus fell from 65.7 percent in January 2009 to 62.8 percent last month, a portrait of disengagement last witnessed in March 1978. For black adults, that number slipped from 63.2 to 60.9 percent. While 29.6 percent of blacks aged 16 to 19 were working when Obama took power, only 27.9 percent were employed last month.

                      • Poverty has increased under Obama. Overall, 14.3 percent of Americans were below the poverty line in January 2009, versus 15.0 percent in 2012, according to the latest available data from the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey. Similarly, the share of black Americans living in poverty expanded from 25.8 to 27.2 percent.

                      • Inflation-adjusted median household income fell across America, from $53,285 in 2009 to $51,017 in 2012, the most recent Census Bureau data indicate. Blacks slid, too, from $34,880 to $33,321 — and at a much lower income level.

                      • America’s population of food-stamp recipients soared overall from 32,889,000 in 2009 to 46,022,000 in 2012, the latest Agriculture Department statistics show. For blacks, the analogous numbers are 7,393,000 when Obama arrived to 10,955,000 in 2012.

                      • In spite of $275 billion in housing-market bailouts that Obama unveiled in his first month in office, home ownership actually has waned. In the first quarter of 2009, 67.3 percent of Americans owned homes. By 1Q 2014, that Census Bureau figure was 64.8 percent. Meanwhile, black home ownership during this interval sagged from 46.1 to 43.3 percent.

In light of this dismal record, about the best that Obama can say to black Americans is, “Nothing personal.” Obama’s focus on resentment and redistribution — rather than robust growth — has failed the entire country, not just black folks.

Also, these sad statistics do not capture the intangible humiliation of watching America’s first black president expose himself as a lazy, incompetent liar. This inescapable truth is confirmed by Obama’s eerily detached demeanor, his 169 rounds of golf in office, his scores of skipped intelligence briefings, his unforgivable absence from the Situation Room during the Benghazi massacre, and his burgeoning scandals — from Fast and Furious to the IRS’s persecution of conservative groups to the 40 or more war heroes who died without medical care while languishing on secret Veterans Affairs wait lists. And remember, Obama’s oft-repeated “If you like your health-care plan, you can keep it” promise was PolitiFact’s 2013 Lie of the Year.

Save for Senator Rand Paul (R., Ky.), who frequently addresses black audiences, few Republicans bother to share these facts with black voters. Republicans should — early and often. These data are toxic, and the GOP’s growth-and-prosperity antidote is just what black Americans need.

Republicans should ask black voters this question: What has Obama done for you lately?

                    10. ‘Also, these sad statistics do not capture the intangible humiliation of watching America’s first black president expose himself as a lazy, incompetent liar.”

Hotchnet, thanks for the excellent article.

                    11. That was an excellent post by Hotchnet. We should keep that in mind when these folks claim Obama was the best president in US history. I’m not sure it’s a judgment issue but rather a worldview issue. If one were looking to destroy this republic, the rule of law and our sovereignty, Obama really has no peers. These same folks now want his VP, or any of the others to continue Obama’s march.

                    12. Anon1,
I said when they claim Obama was the best president in US history. I never said their claim was accurate.

I thought you were smarter than this.

                    13. Anon is enamored with superficialities. For Anon a restoration is putting a new coat of paint on something that doesn’t work.

                    14. I agree with Peter that Obama was actually a moderate if you measure the full range of vocal American leadership from right to left. It’s certainly obvious today that Obama is to the right of Bernie, in general.

of course right and left in the context of our society often makes little difference or sense. but as a generalization i would agree with that much he said.

but certainly not the rest. why peter wishes to partake in the negative tone I don’t know but he told us he was tired of trump and us denying climate change even though for my part I didn’t actually deny climate change but yeah they get to decide that term, not me. because of their authority i guess, not sure.

well, there’s plenty of echo chambers on the internet if you dont want to hear from trump voters peter. in the meantime I welcome your comments if you return

                    15. Kurtz, there are those with strong feelings about personal property and then there are those that do not have those feelings. Obama was part of the latter. He was not a centrist or a moderate from the angle of life, liberty and property. He was radically against all three.

                    16. anon you can call obama the 12 best president if you like. i do not agree

he was not as bad as feared, and in retrospect, i think he was more moderate than we knew. and, i think he may have been better than the Democrats who surrounded him. certainly he was better than hillary. we dodged a bullet that he won the primary over her, is my feeling now.

however, don’t let my modest appreciation for obama deter you from thinking that i am a bad guy

                    17. yes he was not a centrist from the perspective of those cherished constitutional rights of life liberty and property, but these days that screeching harridan Liz Warren is making Obama sound like a right winger.

                    18. but these days that screeching harridan Liz Warren is making Obama sound like a right winger.

🙂 You hear screeching, I hear screeching, yet for some it’s the siren’s song.

                    19. kurtz, I’m sorry to say I don’t numerically rank presidents. I don’t know enough of those before my time.

Historians ranked Obama 12th president a couple of years back.

                    20. Historians ranked Obama 12th president a couple of years back.

You mean a modest collection of historians silly enough and unprofessional enough to answer such a query (supplied by a Democratic website to boot).

                    21. Wow! Here is a snippet of the Politico article:

Less than a month after exiting the White House, Obama received high marks from presidential historians for his pursuit of “equal justice for all” and for his commanding “moral authority,” [Ambassador Chris Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, and two CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were unavailable for comment] ranking third and seventh among all former presidents in each respective category.[Ambassador Chris Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, and two CIA operatives, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were unavailable for comment].

              3. No it was a 55% to 45% win where 50% plus one was required. Nothing more nothing less. But what is this popular vote crap you keep carping about? There is no such thing. True there have been over 700 efforts to make that change but the lazy as left fails to come through so it still does not exist?

What three million votes? Oh you mean the ones that happened during the first part of the ten years from 2010.

Well let’s see .. nothing happened. The left could have said damn that ‘s like 7 more Representatives and moved to have a new census. for that purpose. Of course they would have to have some proof of the others many of whom went to Arzona or Oregon. Who kinows? Maybe that was the reason. but all it took was a get off your couch potato hind end and do something. But they didn’t. Didn’t do it this time either.

Funny thing though they are blocking the Latinos and 2100 census is just around the corner. they are still doing nothing.

So whose fault is that and say? How does that square with their 34% of the nations welfare basket cases?

The reason for Electoral college is to protect us from a dictatorship. Each State gets it’s fair share. California gets one per Rep and two for the Senators 55. Alaska gets 3 RI gets 4

So what did Von Klinton want? 62 for California?

All it took was getting off her amply furnished rear end and doing something.

                But she didn’t

                Not did her Socialist Party.

                They didn’t care.

                When it counted.

                Whose fault is that?

          2. DNC must have puilled out all their programmers for this one. Nothing new though. Just machine parts in a bucket. Ad Machina.

      2. David Benson is the God Emperor of Making Stuff Up and owes me thirty-six citations (one from the OED, one from the town ordinances and two from the Old Testament), an equation and the source of a quotation, after forty-four weeks, and needs to cite all his work from now on. – nobody bothers about a dung beetle like you.

  2. cnn is not a news organization. It is a propaganda wing of one part of the deep state. They consistently hire war criminals, known liars in the “intelligence” community and military contractors (most of whom never disclose their conflict of interest to the public). CNN, just like FOX and NPR, along with the rest of the MSM, are paid propagandists and liars.

Andy McCabe is a known liar. He should not have any credibility with anyone for any reason. Why then does CNN hire him? Because Democrats love the FBI and CNN’s job is feeding loyal Democrats crap soup that “fills” their need to hate Trump. FOX feeds crap soup to Trump loyalists. No one is getting accurate information. Things proceed as planned by the oligarchy.

I recommend checking out Mint Press News as a good source of actual reporting and analysis. If you are too upset to read anything from a left wing perspective then try Ron Paul.

      1. Squeeky Fromm,

        OT/OT,

What’s up with that Charlie Manson chick’s handle? lol

Anyway…. All work & no play makes Jake…..

        & it make no Jack….

Maybe you can help us take an absolutely beautiful song & make it better or butcher the hell out of it?

The concept: To all the girls I loved before, I now that’s the reason my back is so sore……. LOL

IE: Turn it into a fun parity & say some positive things about guns… U know.. love guns.

If it happened to work out with the words & then a minute of 2 meme you could post it on memeworld.com

  3. Andrew McCabe, it’s believed his secret agent code name is Linda Lovelace.

And AKA: Song Bird & Skeet. lol

  4. Too many covert anti-Trumpers to buy the story wholesale. While the complaint may be serious.it isn’t necessarily true..like the Russia Hoax. The use and abuse of process that we have seen, from high level officials..that hasn’t been addressed in any real sense. The allegation of from Jesse Smollet was serious..just not true. I can see how using a position within the Intel community to attack Trump, could definitely cause a need to address it outside the norms because of having to trust scum like Eric Swawelle and other’s not to disclose intelligence in order to score points. Terrible problems these unworthy people have created.

  5. mespo, have any walls to sell?

PS Maybe the NOAA will write a letter on this suitable for your delicate ears.

      1. You’ve got none now mespo. It’s been almost 3 years and with 2 of those with a GOP Congress. And of course the Mexicans right near.

          1. mespo, it’s been almost 3 years. You’re dreaming. Wake up.

By the way, Mexico isn’t paying, you are.

“So far under Trump, the U.S. has replaced or reinforced 66 miles of fencing, including 9 miles of new secondary fencing like the kind the president stood in front of on Wednesday. But Trump’s administration has yet to extend the border wall. There are 654 miles of border wall in the U.S., according to Customs and Border Protection data, the same number of miles that existed at the start of his term.”

            1. Does it make you feel proud to know that you and the Mexican Cartels share in the same desire for decreased security along our southern border?

            2. I’ll bet that there are chokepoints and if that’s the right 10% it will make a huge difference.

Since The Border Patrol backs the wall, and they know where, I suspect it will have some positive effect.

In any case, I have no problem with a stretch of beautiful security fence erected in the desert,

I guess I am like the old timer that Robert Frost mocked in his famous poem

              “I see him there
Bringing a stone grasped firmly by the top
In each hand, like an old-stone savage armed.
He moves in darkness as it seems to me,
Not of woods only and the shade of trees.
He will not go behind his father’s saying,
And he likes having thought of it so well
He says again, ‘Good fences make good neighbors.’”

count me in with the old stone savages. those were our ancestors, the ones who survived.

        1. Excellent example, Anon!. There isn’t even ONE INCH of “new” wall but the Comrade’s empty-headed followers are absolutely convinced that there is! Incredible! This is how we get Jim Jones and Applewaiths, etc. There are myriad ignorami just waiting for someone to believe.

          Thank you!

          1. RaPaR:

Somebody should tell folks in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in Arizona, that 30 foot structure in the desert isn’t really there.

          2. ah, now Trump is Jim Jones? But of course Jim Jones was a leftist. He ran a commune, albeit with Jesus talk.

Left wing lawyer Mark Lane visited th Guiyana compound shortly before Jim pulled the plug on it. He said it was a socialist paradise! No, really, not making that up.

            from the nyt:

“SAN FRANCISCO — Last September, Mark Lane was proclaiming Jonestown a socialist paradise and professing that he had found a conspiracy within the United States Government to destroy the Peopie’s Temple and Its founder, the Rev. Jim Jones. By December, he was calling Jonestown a horror and Mr. Jones a paranoid murderer, insisting he had suspected as much all along.

Mr. Lane’s turnaround came almost immediately after the events of Nov. 18, when Representative Leo J. Ryan, Democrat of California, and four other persons were shot to death after a visit to the commune in Guyana and when Mr. Jones and, more than 900 residents of Jonestown died, many of them apparently by suicide.

The contrasting remarks by Mr. Lane, a New York lawyer and author, are drawing special attention at the moment because of pending actions against him. But a closer examination of his involvement ‘ with the Temple illustrates his propensity, demonstrated over two decades as a ‘ public personality, for attaching himself to issues of the moment….”

            https://www.nytimes.com/1979/02/04/archives/mark-lane-and-peoples-temple-a-cause-to-back-then-condemn-mark-lane.html

      1. OKY, great video. It goes over Anon’s head. When the MSM finally agrees the wall is being built (actually a double wall in many places) he will then deny that he ever said differently. Anon thinks it is merely a replacement wall but where it is a so called replacement there was no real wall, maybe something more akin to a picket fence in front of his house.

Anon tries to minimize the good that Trump does. The objective of the wall is to stop mass illegal migration, drugs and human trafficking. The wall will accomplish a goal no matter what dumb attempts are made to say Trump didn’t do exactly as he said. I care about the end product and safety for America. Anon cares about getting a crazy like AOC elected.

      2. that is a beautiful wall. As the border patrol officer said, THE AGENTS WANTED THIS!

        Well done construction workers!

The anticlimb device at the top is excellent. The normal method to bypass concertina, spikes etc is just toss a blanket over it. Well, it’s going to take more than a blanket to bypass that one.

Seismic sensors too, I like! They guy didn’t want to explain it. But you can bet, jiggle em, cut em, etc., it’s detected.

I’m sure this compares quite favorable to the Israeli security fence, which has helped them curtail illegal and nefarious entry across their borders.

The security fence model which allows vision through it, is way better than an all concrete wall. Excellent!

      3. ““So far under Trump, the U.S. has replaced or reinforced 66 miles of fencing, including 9 miles of new secondary fencing like the kind the president stood in front of on Wednesday. But Trump’s administration has yet to extend the border wall. There are 654 miles of border wall in the U.S., according to Customs and Border Protection data, the same number of miles that existed at the start of his term.”

        https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/what-trump-got-right-wrong-about-his-new-border-barrier-n1056156

        1. Words, words, words, if only Anon knew what they meant. A corral is not a border wall. A six foor wire fence is not a border wall. The President is placing the border wall where it is most needed and a lot of those spots already have fences that couldn’t keep toddlers out much less illegal immigrants, drugs and human trafficking. But I am glad to see that Anon has made an about face and is now talking about even more wall.

  6. JT fails to note that so far a grand jury has apparently been not found that will OK the weak charges against McCabe on a matter usually dealt with administratively.

So much for presumptions of innocence by our law professor, even on Mickey Mouse charges.

  7. Unfortunately drastic times call for drastic measures, and Trump is, if nothing else, a drastic situation. The only purported “crime” that I am familiar with regarding McCabe is not being entirely forthcoming (they way I heard it described) about allowing members of his staff to speak to the press. Comrade Trump, on the other hand, has broken more laws than the Gambino Crime Family and most in plain site. And, in my opinion, there is much worse coming. Whatever needs to be done to stop this troglodyte from destroying our Constitution and our democracy is fair game.

    1. Not exactly forthcoming??? HE LIED!!! The same crime that he has destroyed other people for. Other people when the sole purpose of the interview was to charge them with lying to the FBI (even though they already had the recording of the conversation). Since they had the recording (Flynn) what was the point of interviewing him. This is the tip of the iceberg with this POS.

    2. Democrats not controlling the Presidency is hardly a “drastic” time. All the “drastic” cant is just background for the partisan looniness of the Democrats. “Oh yes, we are deranged, and hysterical, but we got to be since Trump is President!” I think you guys are too far gone for either therapy, or intervention.

        1. Which, you obliviously state while on a thread about CNN’s lack of journalistic efforts. Here it is, all laid out for you, but you are so brain-dead you keep mumbling “but FOX News, but FOX News. . .

Like I said, people like you are beyond help.

          1. Really. So you are a Fox-watcher…I knew it. There’s no “but,” anything. As I said, if CNN reported one IOTA of false information, the Comrade would have been all over it. Just like he’s self-made (a loan of just $1MM from his father which he had to pay back with interest) is a myth of Biblical proportions which CNN, WAPO, and the NYT reported without a peep from the Orange Imbecile; no threats of slander or libel or anything else. Gee, I wonder why. But YOU’RE the “smart” one, your the one that “knows” what’s true and what isn’t. It must be awesome to be you….

I love the way you bandy about another as a”Fox watcher” likes it’s some sign of your superior intellect. It isn’t … nor is your mind blocking of contrary points of view. I suspect most “Fox watchers” (and especially Squeeky, if she is one) could buy and sell you intellectually based on your unlettered commentary here.

By the way, please detail all the crimes that Trump is “guiltier” of than the “Gambino Crime Family” and that Mueller — the professional prosecutor — missed in two years and $40 Million of investigation. I like a little comedy in the morning.

              1. Sorry, but I do not educate those who choose to remain willfully ignorant. I’m sorry that you don’t apparently know anything about the Mueller report, but that’s on you, not me. I implore you to read any part of it at all. But, alas, I’m sure you’ll find some reason not to believe any of it. Just a guess.

FYI: almost every year since its inception the Pew Research firm has found Fox News watchers the most uniformed consumers of news. Again, sorry you aren’t aware of this, but it sounds like you’re not very aware of a lot going on right around you,

RaPaR’s a mud thrower with an ever shrinking island of ground to stand on. He strolls on stage thinking he’s something we haven’t seen here for at least a decade — a low IQ, ideology-intoxicated sot with a chip on his shoulder and not much else to use from that anatomical position.

                2. About that PEW report. . .

“On Sunday, during Jon Stewart’s twenty-five-minute media criticism debate with Fox News’ Chris Wallace, the Daily Show host claimed that Fox viewers were the most “consistently misinformed” in “every poll.” Politifact, the fact-checking project of the St. Petersburg Times, was surprised that Wallace let that claim go unchallenged. Perhaps, like us, he’d heard the refrain so much that he let it slip past him.

Politifact, however, investigated Stewart’s statement by referring to the media “knowledge” surveys produced by two polling organizations: the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press and the University of Maryland’s worldpublicopinion.org. What they found didn’t exactly align with the Daily Show host’s claim: Fox News scored low among media outlets, but–depending on the survey–it did outpace some competitors. Here’s Politifact’s nuanced conclusion, leading them to deem Stewart’s remark “false”:

So we have three Pew studies that superficially rank Fox viewers low on the well-informed list, but in several of the surveys, Fox isn’t the lowest, and other general-interest media outlets — such as network news shows, network morning shows and even the other cable news networks — often score similarly low. Meanwhile, particular Fox shows — such as The O’Reilly Factor and Sean Hannity’s show — actually score consistently well, occasionally even outpacing Stewart’s own audience.

Meanwhile, the other set of knowledge surveys, from worldpublicopinion.org, offer mixed support for Stewart. The 2003 survey strikes us as pretty solid, but the 2010 survey has been critiqued for its methodology.

The way Stewart phrased the comment, it’s not enough to show a sliver of evidence that Fox News’ audience is ill-informed. The evidence needs to support the view that the data shows they are “consistently” misinformed — a term he used not once but three times. It’s simply not true that “every poll” shows that result.

                  https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2011/06/actually-fox-news-viewers-arent-most-consistently-misinformed/351976/

                  Girl Reporter

                  1. But Fox is consistency and unusually low all of the time. You see, as the Comrade has demonstrated, “You CAN fool SOME of the people (you & yours) ALL of the time!” Thank you.

                    1. There are none so blind as those who will not listen. But, let me try one more time. You apparently have a lot of faith in some unknown and unlinked studies? Do you have any clue as to the methodology of said studies. Because if you do not, then you are mindlessly regurgitating canards.

If the NRA did a study that said Liberals are stupid, while that would comport with my belief system, I would still be curious how they conducted the study.

That is what you lack. Any concern for the crap that you cite, to see if it is real or not. Because, you are in a cult, and you desperately need to believe that you are smart, good, and special. Even though it seems pretty obvious you are neither special, nor smart. I do not know enough about you to say if you are good or not.

            2. Actually, it probably is pretty darned awesome to be Squeeky. You, on the other hand, are just a poor sick victim of TDS.

            3. See how you are unable to form cogent thoughts. The term “Fox watcher” sums it all up for you. You don’t have to do any real debating, or analysis. You just repeat the same stale canards you hear from others in your cult. Once again, while you are on a thread about CNN’s lack of journalistic ethics. You have no sense of time and space. You live in a cartoon world, full of symbols that you react to.

You are no more reachable than the poor idiots who went to Jonestown and drank the Kool-Aid. Kind of sad in a way. Did you ever have the ability to think? If so, do you ever miss it???

  8. CNN needs to learn the first rule of holes.

They have lost their journalistic integrity and keep doubling down with known liars.

The real issue is with those CNN viewers who knowingly watch and believe known liars.

    2. Right out of the mouth of Comrade Trump. You’re a sheep, and not even a smart one. Try thinking on your own. Yes, I’m sure that everything the WAPO & CNN report is fake. You can take this directly to the bank: if there was even ONE word of false reporting from either source, the Comrade would have sued the pants off of them already. He’s done that many times in the past, curiously he’s not done that yet to either party. It’s sheep like you that help put this imbecile in office, now we’re all paying for it.
