Trump Spiritual Adviser Accuses Trump Critics Of Using Sorcery and Evil Spirits

President Donald Trump’s personal spiritual adviser, Paula White, has previously made news with prayers that denounced the ‘demonic networks” and stating that Christians who vote against Trump will be called to account before God. A controversial “prosperity gospel” preacher, White will now lead the president’s Faith and Opportunity Initiative. In a prayer on a conference call White proclaimed “Lord, we ask you to deliver our president from any snare, any setup of the enemy, according to Ephesians 6:12. Any persons [or] entities that are aligned against the president will be exposed and dealt with and overturned by the superior blood of Jesus.” What troubles me most is the implied message that opposing Trump a sin or, at a minimum, an act that will bring divine retribution.

The prayer was part of the launching of the One Voice Prayer Movement. White added

“Whether it’s the spirit of Leviathan, a spirit of Jezebel, Abaddon, whether it’s the spirit of Belial, we come against the strongmen, especially Jezebel, that which would operate in sorcery and witchcraft, that which would operate in hidden things, veiled things, that which would operate in deception. We come against it according to your word.”

She then added that opponents of Trump “would be exposed and dealt with and overturned in Jesus’ name.” She referenced again the supernatural forces against Trump and said that Trump supporters “do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this age, hosts of wickedness in heavenly places . . . Stretch out your arm and deliver President Trump and rid him of any bondage the enemy would try to bring against him.”

She is not alone in warning of supernatural anti-Trump forces. Evangelical pastor Perry Stone accused Trump’s opponents of “trying to place hexes and curses on President Trump.”

I hate to be overly mundane but I think that the White House would be better off focusing on the threat from menacing subpoenas not spirits.

  1. Personally, I am not so sure about sorcery to summon spirits. I think evil demonic spirits, most likely exist on some plane. To what extent, I have no idea. Whether it be a possession in the traditional religious sense, or just chaos in your life.

But can someone use different forms to summon evil spirits? Eh…..

I am more inclined to believe in thought-processes. I.e, I had two light bulbs explode above my head in the kitchen while trying to make a sandwich. No worries, the bulbs were encased in glass, it just made a huge popping noise.

BUT, 2 or 3 days before that, I was thinking in my mind while driving in my car about exploding light bulbs….had no idea why, and couldn’t seem to shake the idea. It came up a few times throughout the day, and I was like gosh…so weird. And then couple days later, it happened.

I think most would just say coincidence, and that’s fine, not going to rule out the most reasonable explanation.

President Donald Trump’s personal spiritual adviser, Paula White,

She’s the chairman of a minor advisory committee. It’s a reasonable wager the President has met her twice.”

“Despite this controversy, Ms. White has remained in good standing with Mr. Trump, who invited her to deliver an invocation at his inauguration and has hosted her as a guest at the White House numerous times. In a recent interview with The New York Post to promote her new book, she said she sometimes visits the White House several times a week.”

  3. I’ll say this to all the materialists out there. There certainly are titanic forces of chaos out there, and people certainly can and do pray to them to curse their enemies.

Even a pure scientific materialist understands the physical concept of “entropy”

and any sort of person including one who denies free will, apparently day after day, does exercise will, in spite of their own mouthings to the contrary, even as they do something as simple as speak the words denying will and choice.

By exercising will, by praying to the personified forces of chaos, people tune themselves into a certain frequency. Humans are social animals and so if they all start tuning into the same frequency with volitional activities like prayer– and a hex is nothing more than a hateful prayer– then they can harmonize their activities and thus increase the likelihood of achieving desired outcomes.

This is a fancy way of saying: yes, cursing is a real thing. and so is prayer.

    1. You know, I was explaining it as thought processes, but I think pray is a better way to think of it….by focusing, almost OCD style….yeah.

They usually work, i.e., prayed for a corporations electricity to go out for the day, and a week later, it did, and everyone was sent home for the day.

Probably just a coincidence. Can’t say it wasn’t simply looking into the future versus prayers.

  4. What troubles me most is the implied message that opposing Trump a sin or, at a minimum, an act that will bring divine retribution.

Why should this trouble you JT? For those that believe in divine judgment, there will be no divine retribution if one acts consistent with His teachings. Franklin’s Creed expresses this well:

That the Soul of Man is immortal, and will be treated with Justice in another Life respecting its Conduct in this.

For those that don’t believe, well, this is just fodder.

  5. Let’s talk about Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s advice to Obama… The truth is most likely that neither Obama nor Trump is very religious, but both understood the need to acknowledge religion as part of the American voters’ landscape. I doubt very much that Trump is or would be an avid follower of Paula White.

  6. On the one hand, wiccans are literally casting hexes on Trump. (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/witch-hunt-occult-trump-opponents-plan-halloween-spell-to-bind-him) While these are basically modern-day hippies, it is disconcerting that thousands send an ill-wish for political purposes. I find it amusing that wiccan Michael Hughes claims it’s working. No. It’s just that Trump is not the evil incarnate that the Left has made him out to be. Mysticism going political against Republicans and/or Trump is ridiculous.

The secular part of the country is quite open about wishing evil upon the president. Severed head in effigy, getting shot in rap music videos…in countless ways millions of people years for terrible atrocities upon the president. Again, this is disconcerting. It can frighten one’s family. The death threats must be constant. It is quite dark. A pastor or priest would address such wide spread ill wishes that can depress ones spirits or peace of mind.

Then there are the myriad attempts at a non violent soft coup. The abuse of power to constantly try to oust a lawfully elected president. One would seek comfort from religion in such times.

It is irritating, however, when religious figures claim that they can promise heaven in exchange for political activity. An extreme form of this is when a human being promises Allah will deliver 72 virgins to those who kill themselves, in order to kill others for Islam. Prosperity gospel is a very controversial subset of some Protestant faiths. Considering that Democrats now openly support Socialism, which history has proven to have killed millions of people, it is understandable to pray for guidance. It is a heavy responsibility to try to protect America from falling prey to the promises of politicians to pillage the rich in order to give everyone else Nirvana. This is a false promise to gain power and destroy individual rights. It always turns out that the government is a meagre provider. Ask anyone on welfare if they’re living the good life off the government.

So pray for wisdom and guidance, and protection from those who wish you harm. Pray for victory. But don’t go that extra step and claim that anyone who opposes Trump on any matter oppose the will of Jesus. It is presumptuous and absurd to reduce Jesus to your beck and call. I imagine the pugnacious tone of her sermons would appeal to Trump’s quarrelsome side, but it is not to my taste at all.

  7. Religion, mythology, superstition and tradition all embody human beings’ irrational fear of existence.
Human beings demonstrate or exhibit their irrational fear of existence because they deny or, attempt to deny, they are in nature; one species in a biological system.
    No more; no less.

The Ethiops say that their gods are flat-nosed and black,
While the Thracians say that theirs have blue eyes and red hair.
“If oxen and horses and lions had hands and were able to draw with their hands and do the same things as men, horses would draw the shapes of gods to look like horses and oxen would draw them to look like oxen, and each would make the gods’ bodies have the same shape as they themselves had.

p.s. I said it before and I will say it again, this blog is really about politics, not Constitutional law, or even the law.

    1. dennis hanna – anything about the President is automatically political. Yesterday AOC agreed to unblock at least one constituent rather than go to trial on the matter of blocking people on her Twitter account. Do we see that here? No. Did she unblock others? We do not know. There are several outstanding suit against her for being blocked on Twitter. Clearly a free speech issue that should be address. Still, we get voodoo doll and prophylactic preachers, instead. ABC spiked the Epstein case for 3 years. Surely a free press issue or need to know. We have not seen that either.

    2. dennis let me explain something if you are up on plato and aristotle

politics is about the government of the polis, the city, ie, the state

politics informs questions of how it will be run. this leads to an organic law which we call a “constitution”

as the liberals are wont to say, it’s always a work in progress, and certainly interpretation to current facts is, even if the text or principles are well defined in the first instance.

    3. dennis the “fear of existence” is not irrational it is perfectly normal emotional response to challenges of life

“Those who have a ‘why’ to live, can bear with almost any ‘how’.”
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning

  8. “Western Christian civilization” is over. We live in the post-Chritian world in these United States. Our society is rich and increased with goods. Sex, orgasm, lust, the size of genitalia, these are the gods America worships.

    Not for long.

    1. Sex, orgasm, lust, the size of genitalia, these are the gods America worships.

No, these are what about 25% of the youth population worships, as well as those over 25 who don’t have any critical engagement with their own past.

  9. Well, that sounds like a better excuse than what trump supporters are saying. At this stage, ANYTHING would make more sense then their story so far.

    1. BREAKING NEWS….Fox and Friends have confirmed that Nancy Pelosi IS fact a voodoo priestess and has cast spells on trump. Stay turned to FOX NEWS for further details……

Did it ever occur to you to just quote what she said without the interstitial paraphrasing, or is this cribbed off something in the Bezos Birdcage Liner?

    1. TIA @ 10:22 AM: “Did it ever occur to you to just quote what she said without the interstitial paraphrasing, or is this cribbed off something in the Bezos Birdcage Liner?”

Plenty of birdcages are papered with TIA’s ridiculous comments.

          1. Ctrl -P to printer to birdcage… — in order to demonstrate their value…

That said, I doubt that very many people bother to read the relatively few and worthless comments that are posted to the comments section of JT’s blog.

  11. Unfortunately, Paula White runs a church in Orlando (featuring a mostly black congregation she inherited). She is just as divisive at home as she is in Washington.
God has chosen imperfect people to demonstrate that only He could have made his works possible. He chose Paul who killed Christians. However, He insisted they do better as he used them. There’s no indication Trump is doing better. He’s a far better Ambassador for Satan.

  12. JT, if you noticed, it is the other side who is the problem, not Trump. And if you do not think there are hex / voodoo dolls of Trump out there, you really aught to listen to the Left more often.

    1. Paul, I don’t get your thinking here. You are correct that people have tried to use hexing, etc. on Trump. It is difficult to think of less effective strategies for opposing Trump, but yes, people are doing this. It is their right. It is not unconstitutional and they are breaking no laws.

In this case, Pastor Paula is skirting the separation of church and state but I don’t think she’s actually broken over the line. Still, many of Trump’s evangelical base take this crap seriously.

The real problem is citizen inability to make reasoned, ethical judgements with integrity. If one takes the bible seriously, Trump has already, hands down, committed actual abominations! So technically speaking, evangelicals who take the bible literally cannot support Trump. Hexers need to consider if they got results, rationally, clearly and with integrity. Our population is ceasing to act with integrity. It’s just win at any costs on both sides. So one side is not really worse or better than another (that is if you even accept that there are two sides instead of two wings of the same bird!).

P.S. As an atheist I understand why people look at the oligarchy and see demons! None of these people look well! They say things that don’t make sense all the time. I think this is most the result of all the cocaine and other substances they take, but who knows for certain!

      1. Jill – as an avowed agnostic I don’t think either side is effective. However, if I was the President and people where trying to hex me, I am not sure I would not take preventative steps. 😉

        1. True Paul, Trump could repent. Then he could submit himself to civil authorities for trial for his crimes. That should prevent a lot of problems for him!

      2. Saint Paula is an unrepentant huckster. “If we confess our sins…He forgives us.”Don’t know Trump’s spiritual condition. Hopefully he seeks forgiveness when he screws up. I know no one who lives without sin. I know a number who do their best and still desperately need forgiveness, Mother Teresa is a wonderful example. Malcolm Muggeridge, Bill Buckley, too, and Vince Lombardi, Patrick Mahomes all have needed the benefit of the shed blood of The King.

      3. In this case, Pastor Paula is skirting the separation of church and state but I don’t think she’s actually broken over the line. Still, many of Trump’s evangelical base take this crap seriously.

        You mean like Jimbo Carter?

        1. ww,

I don’t know that much about Carter’s beliefs. He may or may not take this crap seriously. Just because a famous person believes something stupid doesn’t mean it’s not stupid!

        2. The professor may be theologically witless, but she’s violated no law. ‘the separation of church and state’ is a rhetorical trope, not a precisely defined set of principles and practices.

  13. While you may not be a believer, it’s pathetic to write a column making fun of someone else’s spiritual beliefs. Truly disappointing.

    1. Shannon, JT is religious. I don’t see why any religious whose practitioners and especially their “leadership” which is acting in a ridiculous way gets to claim some exemption from being laughed at. However, I didn’t even see this column as making fun of Pastor Paula, even though she so richly (emphasis on that’s what it’s all about for her) deserves to be made fun of!

    2. Why? Religious beliefs are not inappropriate subjects for critical commentary. Indeed, many very religious people regard prosperity theology as a particularly corrupt form of religious hucksterism.

      1. Professor Turley has a history of fussing over the idioms of people who would be out of place in his circle of associates. The most amusing / disgusting was his complaint contra an advertising agency which amended the promotional material for a company which produces above-ground pools. They were marketing in Saudi Arabia, so adult women were not depicted and adult males were depicted in T-shirts. Because, get this, they were selling to Saudis. The professor ain’t Margaret Mead. He’s a Samoan who thinks he’s Margaret Mead.
