Trump and Obama Tie As Most Admired Men In Gallup Poll

There may be no greater sign of the division of our times then the two people who tied as the most admired men in the new Gallup poll: Barack Obama and Donald Trump. It reflects our siloed news and opinions in today’s politics.

Not surprisingly, the poll followed strict party lines: 41% of Democrats named Obama, while 45% of Republicans named Trump. Independents divided roughly evenly.

The two winners walloped the “also rans” of President Jimmy Carter, businessman Elon Musk, philanthropist and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Pope Francis, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, California Rep. Adam Schiff, the Dalai Lama, and investor Warren Buffett.

Notably, Trump is more popular than he has ever been with a 45% job approval rating. At the same time, support for 55 percent recently polled in favor of conviction of Trump in a Senate trial. Confused? Welcome to 2020.

  1. Obongo was a pothead, parasite, communist and community organizer from whose mouth glorious (to fellow parasites) word salads gushed. Obongo never had a job or ran a business and was eminently and irrefutably ineligible for the office of U.S. president having a father who was a foreign citizen. Obongo was surrounded and protected by insidious and sinister forces who protected that figurehead from all threats with all necessary force.

    Obongo was demonstrably, personally aberrant:

Larry Sinclair stated that Obama smoked crack cocaine, had homosexual relations with him and implied that Obama had homosexual relations with a “Donald Young” who was murdered on Dec. 23, 2007, and was the openly gay choir director for Reverend Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ. Is this true? Did CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PMSNBC, HLN or other outlets of the MSM report this? Why has America not heard this news? Why was the photo of Obama enjoying a visit with Louis Farrakhan not displayed in the MSM?

    1. George thanks for all the info. I didn’t know all of this. Hope all this gets out .please post on L.Tribe tweeter. He hates Trump every second every minute 24-7.Help get this all the Democrats.

  2. It is reported that the populace cheered when Al Capone appeared at baseball games. So that is similar to the support for The Donald.

  4. I’m always confused…I’m always confused by the “polls.”

Do they canvass Americans or parasitic, illegal alien, foreign invader hyphenates from s—hole countries seeking not “free-dom” but “free-stuff?” “Globalization” means “globalists-without-borders” can “come and get it” from the American taxpayers, right?

Oh, heck yes! Let’s poll the leeches. What fresh hell; what new entitlement and benefit do they demand today? I understand that what the American Founders established was a candy shop for scrounges full of “free stuff” for the freeloaders – merit be damned!

America was never intended by its Founders to be a one man, one vote democrazy. I wonder why the American Founders restricted the vote to: Male, European, 21 with 50 lbs Sterling or 50 acres. I wonder why the Greeks created democracy with a restricted vote and the Romans perpetuated democracy with a restricted vote. Oh, yeah, because they were sane and rational in their attempts to preserve, not destroy, republicanism.

Someday, Americans will return their legacy to the “original intent” extant before “Crazy Abe” Lincoln’s “Reign of Terror” which was the inflection point of “Progressive” metamorphosis toward full implementation of the principles of the Communist Manifesto. Thanks, General Secretary Abe.

  6. Joseph Muscat: “2019 MAN OF THE YEAR IN ORGANIZED CRIME AND CORRUPTION”

    “Other finalists for 2019 included:

    US President Donald J. Trump,…”

    https://www.occrp.org/en/poy/2019/

    Excerpts:

“Muscat has shown a total disdain for the media, free speech, and has allowed corrupt figures to order killings with impunity,” said Louise I. Shelley, the founder and director of the Terrorism, Transnational Crime and Corruption Center at the Schar School of Government and Policy at George Mason University. “OCCRP through this award honors the courageous investigators of the heinous murder and shows that the powerful can be brought to account.”

Shelley is one of eight experts in the field of organized crime, corruption, and terrorism who sat on the judging panel that unanimously named Muscat the OCCRP Person of the Year. The annual award shines a light on the individual or institution that has done the most to advance organized criminal activity and corruption in a given year.

    Other finalists for 2019 included:

US President Donald J. Trump, who is accused of breaking the law by pressuring Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to investigate a political rival in the upcoming US presidential election. He faces a Senate impeachment trial on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s self-proclaimed personal attorney, who is under federal investigation into whether he illegally put pressure on Ukraine to pursue a conspiracy theory involving the president’s political rival.

Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso, the son of the longtime president of the Republic of Congo, who is accused in a corruption scheme that saw US$50 million siphoned off from the Congolese treasury. He was also implicated in a 2018 OCCRP investigation and accused — along with other family members — of accepting millions of dollars in bribes to unlock Congo’s oil fields.

    ALL WINNERS

    2019: Joseph Muscat
    2018: Danske Bank
    2017: Rodrigo Duterte

    2015: Milo Djukanovic

  7. I see Warren, Clinton, Pelosi and Feinstein did not make the list. Not entirely tongue in cheek as a comment.

  8. Confused? Welcome to 2020

Americans are not confused. You consistently show you do not interact with them.

Americans have disgust for politicians, particularly those in office today in DC. Most Americans have no time, no interest, no reason to follow the petty power struggles of Dems and Reps, NPR, NYT, CNN, et al. Americans have real concerns about the fabric of our society, the decay of our culture, the disintegration of family values, the collapse of basic moral values.

It would have been helpful had you checked the “methodology” of the poll you referenced. You and I associate with a very different set of Americans, with mine making less than the U.S. median household income from the 2017 ACS: $60,336

    Methodology
The Microsoft News Poll uses online surveys, delivered to a random sample of likely voters, to produce statistically valid results. Each day we analyze 1,500 responses nationwide using tools from polling firm CivicScience. We then analyze the results to model how demographic groups answered each question, based on age, gender, race, education, locat1on, and party identification. Answers are then projected onto the estimated distribution of those demographic groups in the likely voting population. The method is as accurate as traditional polling methods.

    1. Cindy Bragg – only if the piano tuner has done their job and the humidity is right.

  9. Here’s a question: what’s to admire about Barack Obama? He collected a salary from the University of Chicago Law School for 12 years, but neither taught staple courses nor produced any scholarly literature. He occupied a seat in legislatures for 12 years, but was an identified maven in no area of policy and produced no legislation anyone not employed in said legislative bodies would remember. He practiced law for < 4 years and reached no professional milestones in that endeavour. I suppose you could say, he hasn't generated any domestic scandals, but then again neither have Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee, Howard Dean, George W. Bush, Steve Forbes, Pat Buchanan, Ross Perot, Jerry Brown, Dan Quayle, or George Bush the Elder. (See Joe Bribem and both Clintoons; partisan Democrats ordinarily don't mind domestic scandals).

    1. TI Absurd x XV…………You’ve listed the reasons Barack was hand-picked by the Leftist Democrat power brokers to be the first black male presidential candidate. It had to be someone they could control, which is why an intellectual high achiever would have been out of the question.

      1. I think BHO was plenty intelligent. However, yes, he was more controllable than Hillary, who had a huge and deep network of support compared to him. So maybe that “controllability” explains in part why some of the oligarchs clearly preferred him at the time.

        1. Mr Kurtz……his puppet masters were counting on Democrat guilt to propel him through the process, and ultimate victory, and it worked.

          1. Obama was underestimated as a cunning political operator, whose abilities belied his lack of experience. He was and is a very good communicator. He had a congenial speaking style which echoes not only with his slavish admirers in the lying press and phony academy, but with regular people too.

I heard many speeches which I liked. True, it took me a while to get past the people who always were licking his boots because he was a black man, but after my disgust over that self-abnegation from self hating white people faded, he did not really bother me.

Now, what did annoy me, is what the Democrat leadership powers-that-be did under his tenure, and most of all, what Hillary did to harm our nation’s interests with her war-lust and promotion of chaos around the middle east.

Of course in retrospect, I wonder to what extent the total and utter failure by the Obama DOJ to discipline any big banking names for fraud, was Holder’s fault, or Obama’s, but you have to lay the blame on the boss in the end. So Obama really has never faced a reckoning for his failure to rectify abuses. I guess it was just too much work? Or maybe the big money donations from the banksters had the intended effect.

            https://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/04/20/obama.goldman.donations/index.html

            1. Mr Kurtz…….it’s hard to stress how mediocre a man Obama was as President. He did not write his own speeches, and whenever he gave a speech, he couldn’t do it without TOTUS (Teleprompter of the United States) In fact, he was so mediocre that staff did not allow him to speak at length without TOTUS . Lots of people had caught on by 2012……so the Dems put the BS machine on extreme…..and Obama “miraculously” switched his philosophy to pro gay marriage.
He and the Dems also manipulated the IRS, etc, to eclipse the threatening Tea Party tidal wave.
He had/has an ego, and was a show-off, and a jock. And bi-sexual, if not flat out gay. Ask the gay men in BoysTown Chicago.
Nothing wrong with that, but shows what a phony he was/is.
His one “accomplishment” was turning America into a country more racially divided than ever before in contemporary history.
P.S. As you may remember from earlier comments, I was a Democrat while he was being groomed from 2004 to 2007, and half of 2008, and knew lots of Dems heavy hitters.

              1. O my this is so right. Makes me want to cry. Why do Democrats not believe or know this. I wish I could shout it from the Senate.. House chamber. I suspected some of this. Why has the MSM and Democrats protected him. Please post on L.Tribe tweeter page. Maybe their is still hope
                Thank you

      2. Nothing wrong with his intellect per se. It’s just that over a period 25 years, there’s no indication he ever took much of an interest in any activity other than completing a law degree. What’s admirable about that?

        1. TIA………..Name something to which he has responded objectively, and I’ll agree about intellect.
He’s such a sophomore, and a lazy one.

    2. I think Obama is not quite as bad as many believe. I would not call him great or wonderful, but, many of the problems that beset the country in his tenure would have been there anyways.

One things I find interesting about him: he was a cunning adversary who bested Hillary Clinton, who had ten times the network that he did.

How, is an obscure picture. Much of the victory remains inexplicable. Things like the primary fraud in 2008

the question i still haven’t been able to answer, is why did some Democrat middle level functionaries, prefer Obama, and put their thumbs on the scale so hard? The story above is just one who got caught.

Maybe it’s because, they understood how much people actually loathe Hillary Clinton? And they knew Obama was a stronger candidate. But, this is just a hypothesis. I really don’t know.

  10. Trump admits to wanting to keep America great, obama wanted to fundamentally transform this nation into something else. Thus is our nation divided into Americans and those who want to make a new nation in its place.

    1. obama wanted to fundamentally transform this nation into something else.

The most remarkable thing about that campaign promise is that no one ever asked him what that something else was. His campaign speeches were one thing and his actions were another.

  11. At the same time, support for 55 percent recently polled in favor of conviction of Trump in a Senate trial. Confused?

Nothing confusing about bad sampling frames.

    1. Paul C……..and even his pillowed, cushy throne won’t be able to alleviate the pain. Poor Barry 😎
He was right! Elections DO have consequences!

      1. Cindy Bragg – did you ever see the film from the dinner where Obama went after Trump? It was mean and personal. Trump was at the dinner and you could see him seething. I think that is the point he decided that he was running for President for sure.

            1. Cindy Bragg – it is the roast where Obama goes on for about 5 minutes on Trump starting with his birth certificate, which he had finally “discovered.”

  12. Gallup not Gallop! I’ve seldom seen a blog with as many misspelled words as yours.
