Daily Beast Editor Calls For “Humiliation” and “Incarceration” For Trump Supporters

We have been discussing the rising threats against Trump supporters, lawyers, and officials in recent weeks from Democratic members are calling for blacklists to the Lincoln Project leading a a national effort to harass and abuse any lawyers representing the Republican party or President Trump. Others are calling for banning those “complicit” from college campuses while still others are demanding a “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” to “hold Trump and his enablers accountable for the crimes they have committed.” Now, Daily Beast editor-at-large Rick Wilson has added his own call for “humiliation,” “incarceration” and even ritualistic suicides for Trump supporters in an unhinged, vulgar column. Wilson declared “[o]nly exposure, pain, humiliation, and (inshallah) incarceration will lead to a moment of reckoning for the GOP.”

Not surprisingly, Wilson is a key advisor to the Lincoln Project which was blocked recently on Twitter for abusive doxxing efforts directed at Republican lawyers.  His column captures the level of hateful rhetoric fueled by the Lincoln Project, which is funded by thousands of lawyers despite its attacks on fellow members of the bar for their representation.

“Remember, the Trump GOP is shorn of all ideological and philosophical pretense, and even when Trump leaves office, it’s not over. ‘His cultists’ reign of terror will shape elected GOP members as long as he and his foul spawn walk the earth unpunished. Only exposure, pain, humiliation, and (inshallah) incarceration will lead to a moment of reckoning for the GOP. It should start at the top and work down from there.”

Wilson notes that he is not interested in the “reconciliation” part of “truth and reconciliation,” declaring a “hearty f— no” to people calling for reconciliation. Inside he called for the “motherf—ers” to consider “seppuku.”

Just as I recently criticized Trump counsel Joe diGenova for his rhetoric about drawing and quartering Chris Krebs, I will assume that Wilson is not seriously calling for ritualistic suicides.  However, he is clearly calling for retaliation against Trump supporters as the Lincoln Project has carried out in its campaign.

Others like Elie Mystal, The Nation’s justice correspondent, have called for a “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” to investigate “[a]ll of these moral and ethical failures … and that’s before we get into the actual statutory crimes potentially committed by Trump, his administration, his enablers, and his family.”

The call for a commission to establish the truth of past controversies is ironic given Mystal’s abuse of teenager Nicholas Sandmann.  We previously discussed the case and the example of one such segment involving “Above the Law” writer Joe Patrice in his interview with Mystal, where he attacked this 16 year old boy as a racist.  Patrice agreed with Mystal’s objections to Sandmann wearing his “racist [MAGA] hat.” They also objected to Sandmann doing interviews trying to defend himself with Mystal deriding how this “17-year-old kid makes the George Zimmerman defense for why he was allowed to deny access to a person of color.” Putting aside the fact that Sandmann was not denying “access to a person of color,”  Mystal and Patrice were comparing this high school student to a man who was accused of murdering an unarmed African American kid and even assailing his effort to clear his name as the media continued to label him a racist. Mystal continued to slam Sandmann in postings on “Above the Law.”  In one such posting, Mystal derided Sandmann for filing for defamation. Various media outfits later apologized or settled with Sandmann for their false reporting.

What is most striking about these views is how disconnected they are to the actual election.  Instead a “blue wave” and the widely predicted Democratic takeover of both houses, Republicans picked up a sizable number of seats in the House where Democrats have been reduced to the thinnest margin since World War II. The Republicans may retain the Senate and won handily in many state races across the country. Roughly 74 million people voted for Trump. I was not one of them, but that is roughly half of this nation. Yet, these writers continue to write as if the nation is now unified in rejecting the policies and priorities of the Trump Administration. It is the distortive effect of existing entirely in siloed media spaces where an alternative reality can be maintained and fostered.

My greatest concern is how the media remain detached not only from roughly half of the country but from reality. It has decided that it will cater to literally one half of the country and foster openly biased narratives of what is still unfolding in this country. As I previously discussed, the loss is considerable since the public now has a deep and widening distrust for the media.  The result is that our media is no longer viewed as a place for citizens to resolve questions over things like contested elections. There is only rage where reason once prevailed.

  1. Jonathan: What struck me about your column is that you say you did not vote for Trump. This will be shocking to many of your followers. It is also strange coming from someone who consistently criticized Democrats over the past 4 years, attacked the Mueller report, spent a lot of column space and testimony before Congress falsely claiming, like Trump, that Antifa is the source of all evil, endorsing your good friend Bill Barr’s attempts to turn the DOJ into Trump’s personal law firm, supporting Trump’s pic for the Supreme Court, Justice Amy Barrett, and falsely claiming the FBI railroaded Michael Flynn and almost inviting Trump to pardon the retired general who was one of Trump’s most loyal supporters. A guy who now wants Trump to declare martial law and overturn a legitimate election. You also have defended Trump’s lawyers who filed spurious lawsuits claiming massive voter. All the lawsuits except one, have been thrown out of court. It’s counter intuitive, after all your efforts to defend Trump’s policies and positions, that you would actually vote against him. Perhaps you should explain your vote to your followers so we will understand your thinking..

Now to the thrust of your column. As you often do you attack the mainstream media for their “bias” in not being more supportive of Trump’s voters.. You claim the media “has decided that it will cater to literally one half of the country and foster openly biased narrative” about the election. You further claim the media is “detached” from “reality” for refusing to acknowledge 74 million who voted for Trump. That’s, of course, not true but it fits into your false narrative. But the “reality” is that Biden won despite massive gerrymandering and voter suppression by Republicans. Not to mention Trump’s attempts to sabotage the Postal Service by slowing down the mail to prevent mail-in ballots from being counted. Trump and Bill Barr spent most of the last few months before the election trying to deter voters from voting by mail falsely claiming it would result in “massive voter fraud’ by the Democrats. Trump is still making these false claims in the Georgia election. All of Trump’s efforts to sabotage the election failed. That’s the real story you choose not to discuss. Despite Covid-19 voters turned out in record numbers. Biden has 306 against Trump’s 232 electoral votes–a decisive victory. Biden won 81.2 million votes–more than any presidential candidate in US history. Biden’s margin keeps increasing because Trump keeps shooting himself in the foot by demanding recounts in many districts that actually found more votes for Biden!

The media did not show any “bias” by simply reporting the results of the election. The media does not determine elections. Voters do! But you bizarrely claim “our media is no long viewed a place for citizens to resolve questions over things like contested elections”. You should know that neither the media nor citizens “resolve questions” about contested elections. It is the courts, Congress and ultimately the Supreme Court that make such determinations. After all your support for Trump’s unfounded claims of voter fraud and his futile efforts to get the courts to agree I still can’t believe you did not vote for Trump.

  2. If a man robs a bank and statements were taken from everyone in the bank and 10 people identify the suspect and sign affidavits to that effect, do you not consider that as evidence?

    1. “. . . do you not consider that as evidence?”

But, but, but: It wasn’t “widespread” bank robbery. And the robbery didn’t materially affect the bank’s bottom line. And, really, come on now, admit it — you’re just a bank cultist, pushing a conspiracy theory. And besides, where are those “affidavits?” Link to them. But most importantly, if you have evidence of a bank robbery, you should submit it to the authorities. (After all, everyone knows that only the “Authorities” can make such judgments. Who are you to think for yourself?)

  3. So PEOPLE Magazine names Dr. Anthony Fauci as one of its People of the Year 2020?

But Trump did such an awful job handling the pandemic? and Fauci was his primary “advisor” who got all kinds of praise and kudos?

    I don’t get it.

So does that mean Trump did a kick ass job of it but since he is Republican he cannot get credit? And since Fauci is a Hillary loving c*cksucking Democrat lover, he gets all kinds of love and praise? Make me puke. Make us all puke.

Democrats and their media are evil. Period.

  4. I hope no one is underestimating these delusionists. It has been a repeated historical error to laugh off these types as barking mad only to find them outside your home with a lighted match in hand. That goes for both Hitler’s Brown Shirts and the Bolsheviks, both of which were underestimated at the time. History has guaranteed that when a system is torn down, the destroyers often have deceived themselves into imagining that after they get rid of the “bad thing” that they will be able to build what they call a “good thing” in it’s place. However, with Egypt being the most current example, the crew that is brought in for the razing phase, is not often able to maintain the control over the rebuilding phase, and more often as not, another force will take the job over from them as soon as they have finished. Just as Mao’s Army sat in caves waiting for Chiang Kai-shek to resolve the threat of Japan before they pushed those exhausted forces into the sea and took over, so we should suspect that there are other forces lying in wait for these delusionists like Beast editor or the professors and lawyers that have assembled to tear away at America’s foundations and main streets in an attempt to topple it and create their malformed Utopia, they don’t have the character that would ever result in them actually having control once their part is accomplished. in deed, the very fact that they can be so devoid of clear thought or purpose makes them naturally disinclined to even see who is really directing this “revolution”. And that dear friends, is why Rick Wilson and his fellows are simply called “tools” by the young prophets among us.

  5. “You don’t want to know what they said . . .”

Amen to that. They are the willfully blind.

  6. The China-Dominion Connection

China spent some $400 million to help ensure that Joe Biden won the election. In the fall of 2020, China laundered that money through a Swiss investment bank, which foreign money then landed in the coffers of Dominion Voting Systems. That $400 million from China was then put to good use by Eric Coomer, Dominion’s Security Chief.

Coomer is a rabid defender of the terrorist organization, Antifa — and a rabid opponent of Trump: “Only and absolute F***ING IDIOT could ever vote for that wind-bag f***-tard FASCIST RACIST F***!” There are countless videos of Coomer demonstrating how to manipulate votes in the Dominion machines. During a November 2020 meeting with Antifa members, Coomer assured them: “Don’t worry about the election; Trump’s not gonna win. I made f***ing sure of that!” And so, flush with Chinese cash, he did.

Bear in mind that Eric Coomer was not just some low-level employee at Dominion Voting Systems. He was a Vice President and the company’s Chief *Security* Officer. His existence and internet ravings are being scrubbed from Dominion and from the internet — in exactly the same way, and for the same reasons, that countless Dominion employees and officers are running for the hills. When the lights come on, cockroaches scatter.

  7. Election Fraud Witnesses

Yesterday, a press conference was held in Virginia featuring eyewitnesses to election tampering and fraud.

The “statements and evidence is compelling and provides powerful eyewitness accounts of potential ballot fraud on a massive scale.” “Experts retained by the Amistad Project state in sworn declarations that over 300,000 ballots are at issue in Arizona, 548,000 in Michigan, 204,000 in Georgia, and over 121,000 in Pennsylvania.”

    The witness accounts include:

    — The disappearance of a trailer holding 144,000-288,000 completed, mail-in ballots
    — The backdating of some 100,000 ballots in WI
    — Computer tampering to make nearly impossible the audit of Dominion voting machines (There’s that Dominion company, again.)
    — The backdating of ballots in MI and PA, along with other malfeasance

These are just some of the hundreds of eyewitnesses statements (some in the form of affidavits) attesting to violations of the law and fraud in the election. (And, yes, witness statements are evidence.) Some are calling those witnesses “whistleblowers.” Whistleblowers are good, right? Or are they “good” only when they attack Trump?

1,000 fraudulent votes here, 10,000 there — and pretty soon you’re talking about an entire election.

    1. but Sam, the news says there’s no evidence!

billionaires orchestrated this and THEY are the ENEMY

      Saloth Sar

      1. Saloth, The news says there is no evidence and then the mindless repeat the claim. Take note of the mindless anonymous that repeated his statement once to you and once to another anonymous. That is the type of mind we are dealing with on the ground or sewer level.

The Billionaires protect themselves because they can provide pennies to mindless people to keep them quiet while they rob them of their jobs and financial security.

        1. Not that billionaires don’t rig the system to get what they want…

but where’s the evidence? This is the question trump lawyers face every time they step in court and they can’t answer it, or provide it.

Just because you can’t navigate your sissypants beyond trump tears and saying trumpy bear lost that just can not be! doesn’t mean anything other than you can’t see past your own temper tantrum. There. Is. No. Evidence of voter fraud.

        2. Hey I know how to make your delusional claims realistic!!

Just write down the billionaires! Oh my bad! Capitalize Billionaire! That’ll make it all extra special.

    2. Excellent post. The numbers in question far outlay the differences in votes the candidates received. The MSM isn’t reporting most of these complaints.

The left will lie, cheat and steal while most of the right tries to be law abiding. How long will that continue?

    3. A press release isn’t an affidavit. A column written by a nameless person isn’t an affidavit.

Link to the affidavits, so we can see what they say. If you can’t do it, then you don’t really know what they say.

      1. Are you the same mindless fool I just referred to? You can link to the affidavits. They are in the hundreds and easily available. You can link to the videos of these witnesses telling their stories, There are hours of videos. I have. You don’t want to know what they said so why should anyone do the work for a mindless fool that can’t and won’t do it for himself.

        1. “You don’t want to know what they said . . .”

Amen to that. They are the willfully blind.
