My column in the Hill addresses how Democrats are increasingly adopting the rhetoric and tactics of Donald Trump. There is a sense of immunity — or Trumpunity — being exercised by former critics in using language once denounced in Trump. An example is Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H. The Senator went on CNN where Trump was regularly (and correctly) chastised for calling opponents “traitors” and “enemies of the people.” Now however Shaheen is declaring that any members of Congress who continue to question the victory of Joe Biden “are bordering on sedition and treason.”
It is an increasingly heard charge from political and media figures who are insisting that questioning the election results constitutes an attack on democracy. Of course, it was not an attack on Democracy for Hillary Clinton to insist that Biden challenge any Trump victory. It was not treason when Democrats sought to block the elector votes of Ohio in 2004. They were defending democracy. However, when a challenge was filed before the United States Supreme Court, Pennsylvania Attorney General Jeff Rosen declared the very petition to be a “seditious act.”
As I have said before, filing in courts and raising objections in Congress is operating within the court and constitutional systems. Sedition is trying to overthrow such legal systems. Filing court challenges is the antithesis of sedition; it is relying on the rule of law.
Yet, Shaheen declared on CNN “These senators and members of Congress who have refused to acknowledge that we had a free and fair election in which Joe Biden beat Donald Trump by over 7 million votes, are bordering on sedition and treason.”
Shaneen and her colleagues denounced Trump for calling people traitors and sought to protect officials who denounced his use of the label “enemies of the people” against reporters. Just two years ago, Trump was called a Stalin for using such labels by Democrats.
Polls show that over 70 percent of Republicans and many independents and Democrats believe that this election was flawed or even rigged. Are they all traitors?
We have a constitutional system that allows for such concerns to be raised in the courts and in Congress. That is part of our rule of law. It is designed to allow people to work within the system. It is the very thing that combats sedition. While we often disagree with courts or Congress, we yield to the ultimate decisions as the result of a system that we all support.
Joe Biden is an unconstitutional and illegal president in my opinion. I believe that the election was stolen and unConstitutional forces were pushing his “victory”. He is an illegitimate president. I do not recognize his authority and never will. He is Ahab and his running mate is Jezebel.
About 75 million voters agree with you. Joe Biden will never be accepted as a legitimate president. Nor will Kamala, not now, not in one year, not ever.

As Justice Alito, joined by Justice Thomas and Justice Gorsuch, noted regarding the Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision already before it:
The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has issued a decree [Pennsylvania Democratic Party v. Boockvar, 238 A.3d 345 (Pa. Sep. 17, 2020)] that squarely alters an important statutory provision enacted by the Pennsylvania Legislature pursuant to its authority under the Constitution of the United States to make rules governing the conduct of elections for federal office. …
[T]he constitutionality of the State Supreme Court’s decision … has national importance, and there is a strong likelihood that the State Supreme Court decision violates the Federal Constitution. The provisions of the Federal Constitution conferring on state legislatures, not state courts, the authority to make rules governing federal elections would be meaningless if a state court could override the rules adopted by the legislature simply by claiming that a state constitutional provision gave the courts the authority to make whatever rules it thought appropriate for the conduct of a fair election.
there is one key point yet to pass. The rest is just propagandist BS. The military so far has done nothing indicated nothing. Does that mean they won’t uphold their oath of office? Not at all. We still have a Constitutional Republic until the moment of inauguration though a headcount of Senators and Representatives refusing to take the Oath of Office would be a very prime indicator.
The oath as we learned years ago in the military was the support, defend and preserve and preserve requirement (depending on which oath) takes pace when their is no more Constitution and subsequently no Constitutional Republic an act that can only come from the sociaists under Biden, Pelosi, DNC, Schumer, and Harris. At that specific point watch for the Supreme Court who must conduct the ceremony refusing or not refusing to administer the Presidential Oath of Office.
At that point who knows the military may uphold their oath of office but if they don’t there is NO More Constitutionl Republic and inaction or no action by the military indicates their approval. Or the new President may refuse to sign the oath any number of indicators. Obviously they will do, say, or sign anything to gain power. But that is the critical point. If the military has a large presence in the inaugural and is positioned in key points means something. but what we don’t know.

Thing is, Jon…,you often mention this supposed Biden campaign challenge to Trump’s campaign taking trash lawsuits to court. The fact those lawsuits made it to court only to be tossed for complete lack of evidence aside (kind of disproving your theory from the start), there is nothing that would convince the 70% of gullible republicans this was a fair election. There are reams of interviews on line where trump voters, pre election, said on tape that if Trump won the election was fair and if Biden won the election was rigged.
On top of that, many of these trump voters would swear that Biden is a socialist while trump is clearly the most beholden to putin of any american president in modern history. So let’s be generous and call these voters confused (rather than the mccarthy ites they tend to be). Let’s ignore trump accepting help from the russians in ’16. Let’s ignore trump’s extortion of ukraine for not diging up the hoped for dirt against Biden which led to trump’s impeachment. For a big picture view of how the election was stolen, in six of the swing states, read Dr. Peter Navarro’s recently released report –: “The Immaculate Deception: Six Key Dimensions of Election Irregularities.” Dr. Navarro, a Harvard educated economist, identifies those six tentacles in each of the swing states, provides helpful graphs, tons of evidence and citations — and writes in an engaging style accessible to a lay person.
The evidence he cites includes: dead people voting, people voting twice, illegal voting, corrupted voting machines, ballot stuffing, and garden-variety incompetence — such as this doozy:

I fail to understand what all the commotion is about. The SCOTUS has recently ruled that voter fraud is a states rights issue. The SCOTUS has made it the law of the land that any state may engage in as much voter fraud as it want to in a federal election without the interference of other states. While some may (correctly) argue that the SCOTUS itself isn’t following the US Constitution, this is what happens when partisan political hacks, rather than proven Constitutional adherents, are promoted to the highest court in the land for lifetime appoinments.

I do not think that’s accurate. China owns 75% of the company that invested $400 million in Staple Street Capital, the private equity firm that owns Dominion Voting Systems. Although the result is the same: China meddled in the election, to help Biden.
