The Big Sleep: CEO Mike Lindell’s Notes Reference Imposition of Martial Law

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has long been a diehard supporter of President Donald Trump. Indeed, on the day of the infamous speech preceding the riot in the Capitol, Lindell told media that he was confident that the day would bring vindication for the President. The statement left many of us scratching our heads since the certification of the victory of Joe Biden was only hours away. Now, the Washington Post has blown up the notes of Lindell leaving the Oval Office, which appear to refer to the Insurrection Act and the imposition of martial law. Media reports state that President Trump “cut short his meeting with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell within minutes, after the entrepreneur was spotted at the White House brandishing notes referencing martial law.”

I previously condemned General Michael Flynn for his suggestion of martial law and criticized the President for not promptly throwing him out of the Oval Office.

Lindell reportedly denied that the notes referenced ‘martial law,’ but the picture confirms the reference. One line said “martial law if necessary upon the first hint of any….”  The memo also refers to the use “if necessary upon the first hint of any . . .” Thus, it could have been a reference to the use of martial law with any additional violence but Lindell’s earlier reportedly denial left many wondering about the purpose of such a declaration. Moreover, I criticized an earlier tweet of Lindell referencing martial law. That was before the Capitol rioting.

Notably, it also seems to refer to various firings including White House Counsel Pat Cipollone and CIA Director Gina Haspel. It bizarrely refers to relatively low level replacements for positions by previously unknown figures.  The combination of wholesale replacement of reasonable officials and the imposition of martial law sounds quite tyrannical. 

After an assault on our Capitol during the certification of the presidential election, this is hardly the stuff to give us the “best night’s sleep ever.”

My objection remains the same as with the meeting with Gen. Flynn in the Oval Office.  The President continues to surround himself with figures who appear to harbor extreme views on the use of martial law. If a president could unilaterally declare martial law over his own election, it would not be an invitation to tyranny, it would be tyranny itself.

    1. My advice – DO NOT GO TO THE CAPTIAL on inauguration day. Do not protest, Ignore it.

      That is not because you have no right to go.
      You have the absolute right.
      You have the absolute right to protests.

      Under some conditions – that are either present or that we are rapidly moving towards violence against government is justiifed.

      But all that said, at this time it is a tactical and strategic mistake.

      These people on the left are idiots. They are their own worst enemy. Let them fail on their own.

      Dorsey claimed that the permanent suspension of Trump was a one time thing. Still his action resulted in action by leaders accross the world. You need not like Trump to grasp that Twitter banning the president of the united states is a huge threat to ALL political leaders everywhere.

      And then Dorsey is caught by Project Vertias AFTER the fact telling twitter employees this is NOT a one time thing, that this is just the begining of a massive censorship and permanent banning campaign.

      There are 25,000 troops in the capital – more than in afghanistan. More than in the entire mid east.

      They have setup two “free speech zones” – you can not protest elsewhere – and only 100 people are allowed in each.

      There were pink pussy hats all over washington in 2016. Bricks were thrown, there was rioting looting and arson.

      But Biden needs 25.000 troops to be inaugurated ?

      The left is deathly afraid of the american people.

      Not only do many people know the election was not legitimate – the press knows, the left knows Biden knows.

      These people KNOW they are not legitimate – they are usurpers.

      Fight this – but for now – fight smart. Recall governors. conduct legislative investigations. File lawsuits. Do whatever is possible inside the law – for now.

      Separately allow them to destroy themselves.

      Derschowitz called to give Biden his 100 days – absolutely!!

      Lets see how he intends to govern. Given him the chance to actually seek unity, respect the rights of those who disagree, grasp that his legitimacy and power is weak.
      Or alternately to overreach and further enrage the country.
      Or to make serious mistakes and fail.

      I think the odds of Biden succeeding are near zero – but I am all for giving him enough rope to hang himself.

      Remember the 75M people who voted for Trump are REAL. They are unlikely to go away. It is highly unlikely that Biden can win them over. Democrats are not even trying. Instead they are trying to demonize censor and persecute them. AOC is atleast rhetorically talking about reeducation camps. Please – keep talking that kind of nonsense. Other democrats are talking about massive gun control – please keep talking that kind of nonsense. Others are talking of stacking the supreme court, or making DC and Puerto Rico states. or all kinds of nonsense. Please keep talking.

      Let democrats proceed unobstructed for a while. there are only 3 possibilities.

      1) The unlikely prospect that an ideology that has never worked anywhere will miraculously succeed this time.
      2). That the will create sufficient political backlash to destroy themselves.
      3). that they will go sufficiently far that support for actual violence and insurrection will grow sufficient.

      Regardless, the democratic party is behaving as if it is under seige – by the american people.

    What is really going on?

    1. There aren’t military checkpoints all over DC, only downtown near the National Mall.

      There are National Guard because there was a riot in the Capitol Building on 1/6 and there’s intel about additional violence planned.

      Hogan declared an emergency in MD because it gives him more flexibility in MD and in helping DC and surrounding states if needed, as the threats of violence also include state capitals around the country.

    1. A reminder: Trump is currently President, so the National Guard who the guy in the video is expressing concern about were placed there under Trump’s Administration, not by Biden. For the record, he’s near the National Mall in DC. Most of DC does not have this kind of Guard presence.

      No one gives a **** whether you consider Biden’s inauguration to be joyful. Trump’s inauguration wasn’t joyful to many and was followed by the Women’s March with ~1.5M protesters.

      Not sure why you think this undermines Biden’s plea to follow the science. He isn’t having a large inauguration.

During the Primary vote counted by Dominion machines on May 24, 2016, Hillary beat Bernie 53% to 47%. Those votes were less than 2 months apart when Bernie was rising Nationally. I always thought that those figures were quite odd until November 2020.

              1. What is emerging is a very complex story.

                It is my understanding that the FBI had more than 100K credible tips that there would be violence – yet they did not inform the capital police and they did not inform the whitehouse.

                Increasingly there is clear evidence that there was significant planning of those – both by Qannon groups – interestingly doing so on Twitter and FaceBook not Parlor – and that the FBI was aware of it and did nothing.

                That are also some claims that suggest he FBI may have been complicit – that atleast some of the Qannon stuff is an FBI operation. There is good reason to investigate. We have enough evidence from the church commission in the 60’s and from the post 9/11 FBI entrapment of muslims in the US to KNOW that the FBI engages in illegal political misconduct.

                Regardless we should know what the FBI’s role is. If they are just monitoring groups (left or right) – why isn;t that intelligence being forwarded ? Or are they doing more than monitoring – are they engaged in entrappment, incitement, egging people on. No matter what there is a massive failure on the part of the FBI.

                I would further note that the capital police force – that is the police officers specifically charged to deal with the capital building are 2400 strong. Had they been properly prepared they could easily have dealt with what occured – without violence and without shutting the capital down.

                It would have been trivial to barricade the capital and screen people as they entered – no guns, no gas masks, no weapons of any kind. Protestors could have chanted and stomped their feet and said they were their to hang Mike Pence or whatever, and still not been able to do anything except convey their deep anger to the 538 members of congress who failed to do their jobs.

                The people have the absolute right to phyically intimidate members of congress with their pressense to demand fair elections. Whether they are free to act with violence depends on the loss of trust and lawlessness of govenrment itself.

        2. George, if I may, I would recommend a book by Victor Davis Hanson. “The Soul of Battle”. The book discusses ancient to present wars. One section is titled, “Sherman’s March To The Sea”. The book may not support your understanding of the history, but if we only read the things we agree with we rob ourselves of a wider breadth of knowledge. I read an article from CNN this morning on Orwell’s 1984. The article stated that Orwell loved the truth more than free speech. It did not take into account that truth is recognized by the beholder. Free speech is necessary to allow open arguments so truth might be found. It wasn’t easy, but I read the complete article.

      Daniel Alan Baker wanted to stockpile AK-47s and build bombs in CHAZ district in Seattle to start “the revolution.”

      The criminal complaint included Daniel Baker saying he received Soros money and he will be offering cash rewards for information on Trump supporters in his video.

      He sounds like a piece of work but he has ties to the Seattle ANTIFA BLM terrorists and no doubt charges against him there were dropped just like Kamala Harris and Democrats demanded
