Res Ipsa Hits 54,000,000

crowd vj dayToday we passed the 54,000,000 mark in views on the blog. Again, we thank our loyal readers who return every day to discuss contemporary legal, political, and occasionally bizarre stories. We have used these moments to give thanks for our many regular readers around the world and give you an idea of the current profile of readers on the blog. As always, I want to offer special thanks for Darren Smith who has continued to help manage the blog and help out folks who encounter posting problems. I also want to thank our regular readers who email me to flag my signature typos or any violations of the civility or copyright policies on the blog.

So here is our current profile:

As of this morning, we have over 20,220 posts and over 1,220,000 comments. With the meltdown at Twitter, we saw a notable drop in Twitter subscribers but we have since made up much of the decline.  We stand at over 224,000 Twitter followers and roughly 6,000 people who signed up for alerts by emails.

In the last 90 days, our ten biggest international sources for readers came from:

  7. Dear Professor Turley, thank you for causing us to be aware of the attacks on our God given freedoms. Many of your postings do a great deal to defend our constitutional rights. Your blog gains more importance when we know that we will hear nothing of your findings by the mainstream media. Publishing the traffic to your blog helps us to understand that we do not stand alone. Though we can certainly be depressed by the deceitfulness of the world we can take solace in knowing that there are people of good character who find your much needed exposure of the deceit encouraging. Your efforts can be summed up by a famous quote. “Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery”. Thank you for your steadfast courage in an age of cancellations.

  9. Congratulations. We would like to see a legal treatise on whether Presidnet Biden’s refusal to enforce the Immigration Law and aiding and abetting illegal aliens to travel in our country without legal authority constitutes high crimes and misdemeanors in pursuit of impeachment.

    You are still posting these kinds of statistics every 1,000,000 in growth, why?

    These kind of statistical posts regarding the blog growth serve absolutely no purpose for anyof your re4aders with the exception of you and possible advertising investors. I suggested to you before that after you passes the 50,000,000 mark that you should only post updates every 10,000,000 instead of every 1,000,000 and stop wasting our time with these pointless statistics so often.

        Actually what I’ve done is not “promoting”, it’s simply sharing things that I’ve written that I think are relevant to the discussion. I’ve also shared things other bloggers have written that are relevant to the discussion, is that promoting their blogs too? I do not share anything that I don’t think is truely relevant to the discussion, those that promote share lots of irrelevant things just to get clicks, I do not and will not do what promoters do.

        I didn’t complain about the numbers, reread what I wrote. I offered constructive criticizm about sharing blog statistics posts that are completely irrelevant and therefore pointless for readers. In fact I suggested still doing the posts but spreading them out further. I’m not jealous at all, that’s just not who I am.

          Really? Don’t hurt yourself reaching your arm around your back to pat yourself on the back. I’m not certain what you believe you’re constructing there, but it would appear you’ve anointed yourself the membership spokesperson. JT has been doing this for quite some time and clearly he knows how to make it work. He did make an improvement in these particular posts when he stopped listing the top 5 contributors.

          He does have a public email address that might be a better forum for your suggestions to improve the blog. jturley@law.gwu.edu

    3. I agree with Steve. These numbers, furthermore don’t make any sense. Counting Views, especially cumulative ones isn’t how you evaluate traffic to a web page. What would stop Turley or any other interested party from simply refreshing the site until the desired number of views is reached? Let’s see unique visitors reported by month- it’s been the standard for years now. I don’t know anyone in the SEO/data space that uses views for impact analysis.
