San Francisco Voters Oust District Attorney in Rare Recall

San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin has been lionized by the press for years. He had the ultra-liberal resume for an ultra-liberal city. Boudin is the son of Weather Underground terrorists and  a former translator in Hugo Chávez’s presidential palace in Venezuela. Now, in a rare move, the voters of San Francisco have ousted Boudin in a rebuke not only to him but the failure of other leaders who have been downplaying or deflecting increasing crime in our major cities.

The San Francisco Chronicle, is reporting that 60 percent of the voters tossed out Boudin. The city has been plagued by violent crimes, daytime smash-and-grab crimes, shoplifting and property damage.

Boudin blamed “right-wing billionaires” for his defeat. It was an ironic criticism given his support from billionaire George Soros.

It is worth taking in mind that San Francisco also recently ousted far left school board members who were accused of pursuing controversial policies in the public schools.

The recall of Boudin should be deeply concerning for Democrats who have pushed for these new DAs and “reimagining” criminal justice. The most concerned should be George Gascón who previously held the position in San Francisco. He was also accused of allowing crime to rise unabated and left the city — later running for Los Angeles District Attorney on the very same policies that led to his opposition in San Francisco.

  1. What happened to Hitler should happen to Putin. If this means invading Russia, then I’m sure the Pentagon has a plan for that.
Russia can be softened first before the invasion starts. If Russians are concerned about “existential threat”, that’s too bad: they shouldn’t presume that an evil regime such as theirs deserves to exist in the first place.

  2. South Dakota Voters Slap-Down Republican Initiative To Stymie Medicaid Expansion

Coming on the same night that voters in San Francisco ousted their lightning rod of a district attorney, it would have been easy to overlook what happened on Tuesday in South Dakota.

But the results there are no less consequential for national politics. Voters in South Dakota sent a resounding message of their own to the state’s conservative power structure: We’re in charge here, not you.

The immediate issue was a constitutional amendment requiring that certain voter-initiated referendums must pass by 60 percent, rather than a simple majority. The measure was defeated decisively, with more than two-thirds of voters rejecting the proposed new threshold.

In South Dakota, the ballot question was pushed by Republican state lawmakers who are hoping to defeat a November referendum on expanding access to Medicaid.

    ………………………………………………

This piece reminds us that Republican legislatures around the country have gone to extraordinary lengths to thwart the will of state voters on such issues as Medicaid expansion, marijuana legalization and minimum wage increases. It seems Republican legislators feel they know better than the people.

  3. It must be said: God-less, lawless, shameless, sociopathic, lying Democrats, led by Pelosi and Schumer, are truly the scum of the planet.

The anger in the country is rising fast, Democrats. Gird your loins.

  4. This recall by the voters will not be ‘rare.’

For the sake of the nation, this must be done one by one, until all 75 Soros ‘destroy America’ DA’s are removed from office.

The wrath of the voters is coming for the Democrat Party in November. You lawless, reckless, America-hating Democrats deserve to be blasted off the face of this planet come November.

Your kind must not rise again to power, for a long, long, long time to come.

Bye Democrat Party. You are all going down. Hard.

    1. Boudin is a marxist-communist, who was adopted & raised by Bill Ayers, founder of the terrorist group Weather Underground, who is Obama’ s Godfather.😡😈😡

  5. One more thing: who are the 40% of voters who think Boudin is doing an outstanding job, or even just an adequate job? 60% voted for recalling him, but that’s not a lot of breathing room!

    1. Richard Lowe:

I figure about 10% of the population has a criminal history or proclivities. Census figures tell us about 28% of the population is mentally ill in any given year. The Dims try to appeal to both groups. So maybe the question is who are the other 2%.

  6. I grew up with a kid who once he got to college, turned into a major Weather Underground figure, and made it onto the FBI’s 10 most wanted list. In today’s changed political environment, this guy could run for office and get elected, something that would have been unthinkable 30 or more years ago. The person who commented on this blog previously about Boudin being raised by Weather Underground domestic terrorists makes a very good point — how on Earth does Chesa Boudin get elected in the first place?

  7. You say:

“Polls indicate the public is losing interest and has moved on from Jan 6.”

So what. The masses are the asses.

“The J6 committee and the [leftist] media are trying to revive interest in the investigation by revealing “blockbuster new disclosures” which mostly turn out to be old information that is already known.”

Trump’s intent is NOT known. TBD.

“New details may be revealed that damn Trump for his actions on J6 but it makes no difference because many, including Turley, already condemned Trump for this matter years ago on Jan 6.”

No Trumpists on this blog supported Turley’s demand that Congress censure Trump. No Trumpist here agrees with Turley that Trump’s speech was in his words “reckless.”

“The J6 committee has a “partisan composition and agenda”.

Blame McCarthy for the composition. Their agenda is getting all the facts.

“Greater “transparency” about what happened on Jan 6 would be good. [Interesting word choice]”

Turley supports this public hearing unlike liars.

“The J6 committee is attempting to revive interest in the investigation through conflict by subpoenaing GOP house members.”

If these house members have pertinent information, they should come forward out of a sense of duty. It’s a disgrace that they have to be forced by law to tell the truth.

“It sounds to me like the J6 hearings will be nothing but ‘Kabuki Theater’ but these are my words, not Turley’s.”

    That’s damn sure!

    1. Jeff:

Why do you support pretending that one single protest turned riot is the end of democracy, with endless investigations, and the perpetrators thrown into solitary for months when their charges were usually illegal parading and trespassing?

Why do you ignore the terrorism of the BLM and Antifa mobs, Democrats, who looted, burned, assaulted people, killed police officers, burned police precincts, seized entire city blocks and would not allow cops or paramedics to enter, and who threatened to burn entire cities unless certain court verdicts went as they would like?

Why do you call it treason and sedition for Trump to say to let your voices be peacefully heard, but not for Maxine Waters and Pelosi to call for uprisings?

      You lack judgement.

      1. Karen says:

“Why do you support pretending that one single protest turned riot is the end of democracy, with endless investigations, and the perpetrators thrown into solitary for months when their charges were usually illegal parading and trespassing?”

I don’t believe the Capitol riot was an insurrection. I agree with Turley that it was- in his words- a “desecration” which is even worse. I don’t know whether the perpetrators have been thrown in solitary for months. I trust the criminal justice system unlike Trumpists.

“Why do you ignore the terrorism of the BLM and Antifa mobs, Democrats, who looted, burned, assaulted people, killed police officers, burned police precincts, seized entire city blocks and would not allow cops or paramedics to enter, and who threatened to burn entire cities unless certain court verdicts went as they would like?”

I don’t. Prosecute ALL lawbreakers. Don’t confuse with someone who wants to defund the police.

“Why do you call it treason and sedition for Trump to say to let your voices be peacefully heard, but not for Maxine Waters and Pelosi to call for uprisings?”

I don’t call Trump’s speech “treason” or “sedition.” I agree with Turley who said his speech was so “reckless” that Trump deserved to be censured by Congress.

        Do YOU agree with Turley?

You won’t say “yes” or “no” will you?

Yeah, she had an enormously successful and expedited weight loss program at the hands of those same “asses.” It’s an age-old story of the mindlessly arrogant that you likely just forgot.

    3. “So what. The masses are the asses.”

That is the real Jeff Silberman.

      1. This quote is attributable to Alexander Hamilton. You think I invented it?

“No one in this world, so far as I know – and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me – has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people.”

        H. L. Mencken

        1. “No one in this world, so far as I know – and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me – has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people.”

          H. L. Mencken
          ******************************
On November 23, 1948, Mencken suffered a stroke, which left him aware and fully conscious but nearly unable to read or write and able to speak only with difficulty. Oh and he was tended to and totally dependent upon those same “plain people” for everything from food to human hygiene. Fate, it seems, had a humble background, too … and wonderfully just sense of humor. Imprisoned in your own body and surrounded by those you hate. As good a defintion of Hell on Earth as I’ve heard.

    4. JeffSilberman says the masses are the asses. Hey Jeff why didn’t you just say that they are the basket of deplorables. This one elitist line had a lot to do with Hillary Clinton’s loss. Jeff and Hillary are the perfect elitist snobs. Soon JeffSilberman will be denigrating the unwashed masses. Jeff says with nose in the air, they are so gauche. Please refill my cup of tea Henry. This is how JeffSilberman thinks about the hard working people who deliver his Amazon package, fix his car when it breaks down or delivers his meal at a restaurant. Quite often JeffSilberman reveals his true feeling toward his fellow Americans who make all his comfort possible. Someone is an ass here and it’s not the masses.

      1. TiT says:

“JeffSilberman says the masses are the asses.”

I wish I had said it first, but I am not so witty. It’s been said in many different ways:

“Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance.”

        H. L. Mencken

    5. “I trust the criminal justice system unlike Trumpists.”

Putting a non-violent individual who did nothing in handcuffs and adding leg irons shows the criminal justice system isn’t trustworthy.

    6. Jeff.

““Polls indicate the public is losing interest and has moved on from Jan 6.”

So what. The masses are the asses.”

These are all accurately paraphrased quotes from Turley. What happened, I thought that when Turley says something that it must be believed?

    7. Jeff,

““It sounds to me like the J6 hearings will be nothing but ‘Kabuki Theater’ but these are my words, not Turley’s.”

      That’s damn sure!”

By the way, I am glad that you are finally able to admit that the J6 hearings will be nothing but ‘Kabuki Theater’.

      1. Ray,

I was referring to the fact that Turley does NOT believe that.

        Nice try though!

  8. Democrats And So-Called Progressives Not Necessarily The Same People

The following is a comment from the feedback thread of a Bret Stephen’s column in today’s New York Times regarding the San Francisco recall.

    Really

    NYJune 7

I’m a lifelong Democrat and live in SF with my family. We moved there one year ago from Manhattan. Both cities have issues, but the difference in the treatment of the homeless is astonishing. SF has essentially abandoned a large chunk of the city to a sprawling mass of drugged-out lunatics. I never thought I would see anything like this. Of course I voted to recall Boudin. That’s just the start. People here have had it. One-third of the city is Asian, who predominantly want law and order, and their voices barely register here with the Wokeists who have taken over the city government. You want to see what a failed democracy looks like? Look at San Francisco.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/07/opinion/progressives-america.html

    1. Anonymous:

I think the entire problem began when far Left politicians took the position that enabling homelessness and the resulting crimes were compassionate, and opposing homeless camps meant you hate the poor.

Apparently, you can get a lot of your policies through if you paint opponents as dirtbags. They didn’t have to debate such policies on their merits, or explain how they would deal with the easily foreseeable consequences.

I agree with you that there are moderate Democrats still out there, but their voice has been silenced. They don’t want to be called dirtbags, either. I have also seen the needle move further left. People I knew to be kind, rational, tolerant people gradually began to say things like, all cops are racist, if you don’t think homeless camps should be allowed you’re a terrible person, if you oppose illegal immigration you’re a xenophobe, if you voted for Trump you’re a Nazi. Etc. They gradually got used to calling people dirtbags, with impunity and even encouragement, instead of having those rational discussions on polices. Before you knew it, they were saying it’s a great idea to castrate boys just because they said they were a girl at age 2, and that gender suddenly became a changeable state of mind. If you disagreed, you were a dirtbag.

One set of grandparents were lifelong Democrats. This modern party would have been alien to them, and they’d probably be chased down the street by Antifa.

      1. Karen,

Newton’s law of politics: ‘Every radical fringe creates an opposite radical fringe’.

Keep in mind the Bernie Bros grew up during a period when Republicans were moving increasingly rightward. Millennials cannot remember a time when Republicans had a moderate wing.

        1. Anonymous:

The far Left burned cities, looted, assaulted and murdered cops, seized entire city blocks in an anarchical “autonomous zone” in which they blocked police and first responders, burned down police precincts, threw molotov cocktails into occupied cop cars, threw homemade bombs at federal buildings including courthouses. These weren’t just fringe lunatics in a subway. These were people encouraged by Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Maxine Waters, AOC, Nancy Pelosi, and many more. Top Democrats, including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, donated money to bail them out of jail. Left wing activists that have infested the criminal justice system diverted most of them into “rehabilitation programs” instead of jail. This went on for over a year in Democrat-run cities.

Do you see some sort of equal extremist right wing terrorizing all red run cities across the nation? No. No you don’t. The only event you can come up with would be the Jan 6 protest that turned into a riot, in which the only person killed was an unarmed protester. They weren’t diverted into rehabilitation. They were thrown into solitary for months, even though most of the charges were illegal parading and trespassing.

There is no approval of violent extremist right wing groups. I disagree with viewing Nazis and Neo Nazis as right wing, because they believe in an all powerful government with few to no individual rights, while the right wing is all about individual rights and the Constitution. Leftists in academia sought to distance themselves from the National Socialist German Workers Party. However, even assuming they could be called right wing extremists, there is no cover for them from the Republican Party, no acceptance by Trump or any other top Republican, and no one works behind the scenes to protect them from justice.

There is no “both sides are doing this just as much” in real life. There certainly are extremists in all political parties, but you cannot in good conscience compare Republicans with the BLM and Antifa violent movements.

Milennial Democrats had no idea how moderate the Democrat Party used to be.

    2. “I’m a lifelong Democrat and live in SF with my family. We moved there one year ago from Manhattan … SF has essentially abandoned a large chunk of the city to a sprawling mass of drugged-out lunatics.”

Behold the natural result of a “lifelong” obsession with the “virtue” of the Dims.

  9. What has amazed me is how few individuals realize the horrible background in which this individual was nurtured. Much similar to that culture which gave us obama. That our education industry has so erased the history of these subversive terrorists to such an extent that some could find employment within said education industry and the spawn of others of them could achieve public office, elected by brain-dead pseudo-socialists whose heads have been neutered.

    1. San Francisco must be one of the most progressive cities in the country. Yet it has recently disposed of three progressive school board members and now this progressive DA. I hope this is the beginning of the end of wokism, and that the population itself has now woken up to the need to vote against every Democrat everywhere, since the party is in thrall to that destructive ideology.

    2. Obama is cut from the same cloth. This spawn of terrorists is of Obama’s “ilk.”

Most dum dums in this country have no idea Bill Ayers ghost wrote Obama’s book, ‘Dreams from my Father.’

What dreams? Chesa Boudin was putting it into action.

Until mostly minority voters woke up and pulled his power back.

If the Fake News could have, they would have helped Chesa retain his power to destroy America, just like they do for all Democrat lunatics.

  10. Gascon, you’re next.

Shame on you for refusing to bring attempted murder charges on the teenager who, at 16, got high, stole a car, and then deliberately mowed down a mother walking with her baby. 2 years prior he was found guilty of poisoning a girl for spiking her drink. I don’t know with what – date rape drug, poison, drugs? This guy ran over a mother and stroller on purpose, but all he gets is 6 months at a prison camp. When he turns 18 next year, his record will be expunged.

He’ll be able to pass a background check. Buy a firearm. He could get hired in a blue collar job with a clean slate and get access to people’s homes. He could work at a day care or school.

Wouldn’t you want to know if this guy tried to kill a baby?

  11. One of the fundamental flaws in American politicians is that they fail to analyze the results of their policies, admit mistakes, and rectify the problem. You can be robbed 6 times a day, but they’ll claim you’re lying, or paid by Elon Musk, and stay the course.

I would respect someone who tried different approaches, abandoned what didn’t work, and plot the best course.

It was grim how a pro-crime, anti-police movement ever gained so much traction. This indicated an efficient propaganda machine. Ordinarily, the average voter would not put the best interests of thieves, murderers, arsonists, and violent criminals above public safety. A casual review of statistics shows that, although bad seeds do occur among the police force, in general, they are not blowing away black people. Most stories that they do, are based on inaccuracies or outright lies. Take, for example, the claim that cops shot and killed an unarmed pregnant black woman. Turns out she was an armed carjacker who pointed a gun. She was a convicted felon, and it was illegal for her to possess a firearm. (Criminals do not follow gun laws.) Cops told her to drop the firearm, so they gave her every chance. She’s not dead, either, but in a hospital in stable condition, and she appears not to be pregnant, either.

Facts didn’t stop the woke mob from fabricating false allegations against yet more officers, fanning more protests.

    https://nypost.com/2022/06/03/footage-dispels-idea-that-kansas-city-woman-shot-by-cops-was-unarmed/

I’ve been guilty before of taking allegations at face value. I was wrong, and now I try to wait for an investigation before passing judgement. Why can’t the general public admit when they’ve got it wrong?

    1. Karen says:

“I’ve been guilty before of taking allegations at face value. I was wrong, and now I try to wait for an investigation before passing judgement. Why can’t the general public admit when they’ve got it wrong?”

Good advice. Not only should we wait for an investigation but a trial and a verdict. How about that for a change? Then the general public won’t ever have to admit that they were wrong.

      1. As long as it’s a fair trial, and the charges are supported by evidence, with the same standard applied to all.

        1. I believe Sussmann had a fair trial, but Trumpists don’t. They believe that there are two standards of justice. I don’t. I fundamentally trust our judicial system. Do you, Karen?

          1. Jeff:

Please explain how it was fair for a jury pool comprised of Hillary Clinton supporters and donors gave Sussmann a fair trial, given that it was proven he lied to the FBI?

If you “fundamentally trust our judicial system” then why were you carrying on about the George Floyd incident and subsequent trial?

            1. Karen,

Did Turley say that the jurors engaged in jury nullification?

              Did he? Answer my question.

Since I know you will not answer that question, I will. Turley did not. He accepted the fact that even biased jurors could do their duty despite appearances. Only Trumpists believe that everything that goes against them is rigged. They have no faith in our judicial system. Turley and I do.

I have never complained about the Floyd incident. I allow the courts to decide. You are confusing me with someone else.

  12. One down. How many more Soros DA’s are needing to be thrown out of office, 74?

Is Soros an American? Why is he able to fund this social justice experiment that is destroying American cities?

      1. Murdoch isn’t trying to destroy America and the west though. Soros, by his actions, seems to be working toward that goal.
