We have previously discussed the growing evidence that President Joe Biden has repeatedly lied about his knowledge of his son Hunter Biden’s foreign dealings. Now an audiotape of the President highlights those contradictions. In the call from late 2018, Joe Biden calls to discuss a New York Times article detailing Hunter’s dealings with a Chinese oil tycoon accused of economic crimes — telling him, “I think you’re clear.” Once again, the refusal of Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel in this matter is itself becoming a scandal in the face of these contradictions.
The Biden voicemail concerned a Times report on Dec. 12, 2018, detailing Hunter’s dealings with Ye Jianming, the head of CEFC China Energy Company. Ye was later arrested amid allegations of economic crimes.
The plan with the Bidens (which included Joe Biden’s brother) specified a proposed 10 percent share for Hunter for “the big guy.” According to Biden associate Tony Bobulinksi, that was a reference to Joe Biden.
The voicemail, discovered on Hunter’s discarded laptop, reveals that Joe Biden was following the stories of his son’s alleged influencing peddling and specifically his Chinese dealings. In his message, Biden tells Hunter,
“Hey pal, it’s Dad. It’s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance, just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you. I thought the article released online, it’s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you’re clear. And anyway if you get a chance, give me a call, I love you.”
Some of us have written for two years that Biden’s denial of knowledge is patently false. Indeed, it is baffling how Attorney General Garland can ignore the myriad of references to Joe Biden in refusing to appoint a special counsel.
People apparently were told to avoid directly referring to President Biden. In one email, Bobulinski, then a business partner of Hunter’s, was instructed by Biden associate James Gilliar not to speak of the former veep’s connection to any transactions: “Don’t mention Joe being involved, it’s only when u [sic] are face to face, I know u [sic] know that but they are paranoid.”
Instead, the emails refer to President Biden with code names such as “Celtic” or “the big guy.” In one, “the big guy” is discussed as possibly receiving the 10 percent cut on a deal with a Chinese energy firm. Other emails reportedly refer to Hunter Biden paying portions of his father’s expenses and taxes.
Despite President Biden’s repeated claims he knew nothing about these dealings, Bobulinski has said he personally met with Joe Biden to discuss Hunter Biden’s business activities. Bobulinski had been selected by the family to handle these deals.
As vice president, Joe Biden flew to China on Air Force Two with Hunter Biden, who arranged for his father to meet some of his business interests. Hunter Biden’s financial interest in a Chinese-backed investment firm, BHR Partners, was registered within weeks of that 2013 trip. Yet, President Biden repeatedly insisted that he never discussed such dealings with his son, a claim Hunter Biden has contradicted.
There are emails of Ukrainian and other foreign clients thanking Hunter Biden for arranging meetings with his father. There are photos from dinners and meetings that tie President Biden to these figures, including a 2015 dinner with a group of Hunter Biden’s Russian and Kazakh clients.
Yet, the media has consistently moved to bury or belittle the story. Indeed, the most impressive aspect of this scandal is how the Biden family got the media to invest into this narrative.
These emails also involve Ye’s top lieutenant, Patrick Ho, was convicted in New York of bribing African officials to help Iran evade oil sanctions.
Ho later paid Hunter a $1 million retainer to represent him as his attorney, even though there is no indication of what Hunter did as counsel. Ho was viewed by American intelligence as a high-level Chinese intelligence operative.
I previously wrote a column on the one year anniversary of the Hunter Biden laptop story that marveled at the success of the Biden family in making the scandal vanish before that 2020 election. It was analogized to Houdini making his 10,000-pound elephant Jennie disappear in his act. The Biden trick however occurred live before an audience of millions.
None of these new facts can force the media to see the elephant. The key to the trick was involving the media in the original illusion, investing reporters in the narrative. It is like calling audience members to the stage to assist in the performance. Reporters have to insist that there was nothing to see or they have to admit to being part of the original deception. The media cannot see the elephant without the public seeing something about the media in its past efforts to conceal it.
246 thoughts on “‘I Think You’re Clear”: New Audiotape is the Latest Contradiction of President Biden’s Denials of Knowledge of Hunter’s Foreign Dealings”
Audit Joe Biden’s finances during this time period.
Does anyone still believe Joe Biden’s lies that he didn’t know Hunter Biden was selling influence with him to foreign nations? That he didn’t know all the money he gave him went to drugs and hookers?
One of the very few things I like about Joe Biden is that he clearly loves his troubled son, and his wife seems to love him, though her judgment in allowing a clearly befuddled man to become President is questionable. I don’t doubt Joe Biden loves his son, but he’s also enabled a lot of his bad behavior. Selling political favors to the Russians and Chinese was unethical.
Democrats howled about Trump earning billions in the private sector, and his children rising in the company. They excoriated his brining his children into his inner circle, especially with all the Democrat espionage and sabotage. His donating his entire salary except for $1 did not allay their anger.
Yet politicians so often get rich in public office. They find lucrative deals with inside knowledge. They parlay their political power into seriously vast wealth. Look at the wealth the Clinton’s amassed through public office. The Biden’s are the same.
Personally, I think earning money through private industry is more laudable than getting rich at taxpayer expense.
Was the Jewish community a member of NATO in 1945 when the Allies came to its aid?
Did the allies come to aid the Jewish community in 1945? No.
The alias fought to save themselves. There was little concern for the Jews, and if one checks the historical records, one will find my statement correct.
There is something wrong with you, just in case you didn’t know.
Needs more attention than Hunter Biden: Trump is the first president to physically assault a secret service agent, attempt a coup, lead an armed attack on the Capitol, or incite a crowd to assassinate his own vice president.
Exactly which part of this is the MAGA greatness we’re returning to?
One problem with your story. Cassidy Hutchinson presented hearsay. She said Tony Ornato, Trump’s White House Deputy Chief of Staff of Operations, told her this happened. Sources say Ornato and other Secret Service present at the time deny the story.
It would be best for the original source to either confirm or deny the story before you run with it.
Trump has a history of battling with words, not physically. It would be strange to start now.
You asked what part of MAGA greatness we should return to:
– Low inflation
– Lowest black unemployment in history
– Lowest welfare needed
– Strengthened border with illegal immigration at a tiny fraction of what it is today
– Brought American manufacturing back
– Brought a vaccine to the public in less than a year, breaking all records, during a pandemic. Average time is 10 years.
– Lower gas prices
– Plenty of baby formula
We prospered under Trump.
Trump was also right about TikTok. The Chinese Communist Party uses the app to data mine users, stealing their personal information and faceprint.
Trump was right that SARS-CoV2 likely originated in the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and that the Chinese Communist Party covered it up, which allowed it become a pandemic.
Trump was right about the Russia hoax.
Trump was right that the Obama Administration spied on him
Trump was right that Democrat activists in the FBI were abusing their position to undermine his presidency.
You might not like Trump. You might think Biden is wonderful. Judge by their fruits.
Under Biden, we had the disaster in Afghanistan, hungry American babies without formula in an easily predictable disaster, 40 year high inflation, gas prices so high that people can’t afford to drive to work due to his war on fossil fuels, supply chain problems, a totally open border, millions of illegal alien border crossings, rampant crime, police quitting or retiring in droves, and he gave the Chinese Communist Party a boatload of money to manufacture at home Covid tests instead of using American companies.
Is Biden more polite? He calls people Neanderthals, dog faced pony soldiers, and other names. Democrats routinely call conservatives racist sexist slurs. They call anyone who disagrees with them a transphobe, homophobe, racist, Fascist, Nazi so as to avoid debating the merits of policy.
You should look around fantasy publishers for somewhere to publish your material…
Are Ukrainians humans that can use some of that human survival stuff?
We have listened to the leftist bloggers that have been wrong on almost every issue. They are swarming. We see them writing the same BS over and over again this morning as if some higher power has told them to swarm before the truth is permitted to come out?
What do they have?
2) Nothing criminal
3) A lot made up of thin air
In the end it will be like the Russia Hoax and Steele Dossier where they still refuse to apologize.
Why haven’t we heard about the 20,000 National Guard troops offered by Trump and refused by Pelosi?
Why haven’t we seen the documents showing the murder of Ashli Babbitt was justified when all over the nation there have been riots when criminals are shot or killed despite having weapons?
Why haven’t they investigated why the Capitol police let the Jan6 people in?
Why haven’t they explained the West Tunnel where people were let in and then tear gas was sprayed and police beat civilians.
Why haven’t they explained the death of Roseanne Boyland and why the police interfered with people trying to save her life?
Why did two other people nearly die in that tunnel but at least one was rescued by a Jan 6 who later was incarcerated, prevented from seeing his lawyer, moved from jail to jail and kept much of the time in solitary confinement? https://rumble.com/v17h6qx-the-truth-of-january-6th.html
Why were two other Jan 6 deaths listed as cardiac arrests when it was percussion weapons that killed at least one and that person wasn’t close to the Capitol building.
Why was only one person found not guilty by a judge when videos showed him being let into the Capitol by police. Why not the others that due to lack of effective counsel pled guilty to charges that are ridiculous?
Why haven’t the Capitol videos been released since they would show police letting Jan6 people in and also show them being peaceful.
Why hasn’t Pelosi released all her communications? Those communications can enlighten everyone as to her culpability in the Jan 6 event.
Why isn’t the press investigating all these things?
Is the lack of press investigation the same reason that the press went with successive stories?
It’s not proven to be Hunter’s laptop
It’s not shown that the laptop wasn’t altered.
It’s Russian disinformation
It doesn’t have to do with the President, even though we have audible messages from the President.
This is all a scam pushed by political despots that are liars who desire despotic power.
They are using lies, the media and the ideas created by the media that Trump isn’t a nice person. He is like all people, both good and bad.
It doesn’t matter if one likes Trump or thinks he is a jerk.
He dramatically improved the economy cutting down unemployment a couple of times faster than Obama whose recovery was abysmal.
He was sealing up the Southern Border that Biden said he was protecting. The number of illegal immigrants was quickly falling along with the amount of drugs crossing the border.
What has Biden provided?
1) Death of many immigrants. ~ 50 yesterday
2) 100,000 deaths from Fentanyl and other drugs that is rising because of the drugs crossing over the border. 150,000 Fentanyl pills found in a drug arrest. The criminals were let out of jail by Democrats.
3) Human trafficking and slavery
4) MS-13 endangering our cities
5) Millions of illegals overwhelming social services, hospitals, and schools
6) Human trafficking and slavery
6) Does anyone need to know more?
Democrats have nothing to offer except to hold one-sided hearings because they are afraid Jim Jordan might make them look like the fools they are.
The press will keep pushing crazy leftist talking points that are lies and destructive to the nation.
On this blog one has to wonder why the leftist bloggers this morning simultaneously started to pound the blog, almost as if they were told to hit hard with whatever they lies they have and as frequently as they could to drown out other voices.
What have they said? Nothing except the same type of hearsay they had when the Steele Dossier was pushed onto the American public to destroy a presidency providing economic relief and safety to its citizens.
S. Meyer says, “ Why haven’t we seen the documents showing the murder of Ashli Babbitt was justified when all over the nation there have been riots when criminals are shot or killed despite having weapons?”
They did release the documents. The officer was justified in shooting Ashli Babbitt. She forced her way into a secure area while committing a crime of trespassing on federal building and participating in an riot. She was a criminal the moment she entered the building.
“ Why did two other people nearly die in that tunnel but at least one was rescued by a Jan 6 who later was incarcerated, prevented from seeing his lawyer, moved from jail to jail and kept much of the time in solitary confinement?”
Because rumble is not a credible source. It’s a site rife with conspiracy theorists and crazies.
What is, “…was rescued by a Jan 6 who later was incarcerated,..” what’s a Jan 6 S. Meyer?
“They did release the documents. The officer was justified in shooting Ashli Babbitt.”
Since you have such expertise show us the proof that an adequate investigation was performed. Don’t you have it? If not, you demonstrate a stupid fixation on what others wish you to believe.
What was the justification for killing her and why didn’t he use a taser. Why was he lying in wait? What were the other officers doing in the room? What were his instructions. There are many questions but who can expect a dummy to consider all the questions that need to be answered?
This video that includes some of the answers to four deaths shows pictures that have the appearances of an assassin waiting to kill. It also tells one why many of the Jan6 protestors should never have been arrested or charged.
She was a criminal the moment she entered the building.
So that’s the standard for use of deadly force. Trespassing.
I assume you meant that the officer perceived a threat to his life or that of others from her, but is there any actual backup of his perception? Why was he the only LEO to perceive that level of threat and go for his gun?
I give a lot of leeway to LEOs in emergent situations. But a person was killed by his action. Shouldn’t the investigation be a little more in-depth than allowing the guy to preen over his own heroicism, especially when he’s apparently the only one who drew on the rioters, and has a history of carelessness with his weapon?
If something seems amiss, often it is.
Trump left office with less jobs than when he went in and there isn’t any information coming to save the day for you trumpists. It’s time to accept the truth.
I guess that means you never heard of Covid, or watched the news to note how Democrats closed the economies in their states. Before Covid Trump’s economy was rising and doing quite well considering the starting point and the leftists trying to destroy every good thing he did. Now that Covid is behind us, Biden is living off the economic stimulators Trump created, even while doing everything he can to destroy the country.
Don’t complain if someone says you sound foolish.
Just to be clear, Democrats shut down the economy, closed almost all businesses, due to the pandemic, but you blame Trump because there were fewer jobs than when he started, before the pandemic?
Before Trump left office, the economy was roaring back, even though the pandemic was still ongoing.
One shouldn’t count jobs gained after the economic shutdown as jobs added, because Democrats forced those jobs to be lost. Gaining some of them back is not the same as expanding an economy and creating brand new jobs.
Unfortunately, Biden’s policies ground economic growth to a near standstill, and ushered in record inflation and unaffordable gas prices as soon as he took office.
You should become better acquainted with the truth.
Trump left office in the heart of COVID, after almost a year of a lockdown he first ordered and then supported on the advice of national health advisors that the D’s still venerate as heroes. Thankfully COVID was a black swan – pray that your Big Guy doesn’t have to deal with one of those.
Indubitably employment under Trump before COVID hit was historically low, especially for the working class of every ethnicity.
Well said, Seth. I would add that Biden also contributed astronomical gas prices through is war on domestic and Canadian fossil fuels, massive inflation, and exacerbated supply chain shortages. He also failed to predict and promptly respond to the baby formula shortage. American babies went hungry because Joe Biden was in office.
I suspect that there is a food shortage looming on the horizon. Just like the baby formula shortage, Joe Biden can’t see it coming. There have been disasters at many major food producers and processors. 24 million chickens and poultry were culled because of the bird flu. Other major food producers have packed up and moved out of CA, such as Farmer John’s. There have been fires at major egg producers, and the Carrefour grocery logistics center, and a cattle and sheep die off. CA drastically reduced the water it allocated to agricultural producers this year, meaning most are operating at maybe 1/4 of capacity.
Russia and Ukraine are major grain producers, so shortages from the war amplifies any problems that American farmers experience.
People, now is the time to plant a garden if you live in a climate warm enough to get a harvest before winter. Now is the time to buy a bag of beans, a bag of rice, and a few cans of food every time you shop. Don’t hoard. Don’t grab everything off the shelves. But PLAN. The price of everything is going up. If you find meat on sale, get it and freeze it. If you live in an area zoned for chickens, get a few laying hens. It will take 5 months before chicks will mature and lay eggs. Put extra food by for your pets, as well.
Shelf stable food is a good bet. If we’re lucky, and shortages don’t happen, you can always use it up.
Thank you Karen. I always appreciate what you have to say.
One correction, the S. doesn’t stand for Seth. I wouldn’t mention it except the old Seth Warner exists on this blog today. He is a man of a thousand aliases. I don’t want anyone confused. The S. is an initial. I am sometimes called Alan or Allan.
Thank you again.
Thanks, S. Meyer. I’m sorry I got your name wrong.
I do not expect presidents to predict or respond to things like the “baby food shortage” or most of th rest of th problems during the Biden administration.
I expect them not to CAUSE these problems.
Markets are incredibly resilient they will work arround lots of government misguided manipulation – at small increases in costs to us.
But there are limits. Biden has done everything possible to choke off domestic oil and gas production. At some point there is no alternative by higher prices and shortages.
There is no actual evidence that the FDA has ever been anything but net negative, but even if we presume some minor benefits, the FDA still essentially destroys global markets, making problems in US markets – such as with baby food impossible to fix.
One of the biggies is that FDA and other US regulators control LABELING of products – this sounds innocuous, except that it is what is precluding importing Eurpoean baby food – even though EU regulations are more stringent than those of the US – there labeling requirements are different.
Over and over government regulations that SOUND small and innocuous prove disasterous – when markets need to make adjustments.
The solution for ALL us problems under Biden is STOP – get the Government our of stupid regulation. Get it out of the economy entirely.
The Covid Stimulus from Trump was going to cause inflation, but adding some 3.5T was dumping gasoline on a fire.
Now it is virtually certain we are entering a FED caused recession – that is the only means that government has for bringing inflation under control.
Supply chain problems will actually fix themselves – if government gets out of the way.
When government steps in it puts its fingers on the scales. It picks winners and losers based on politics – not actual problem solving. That makes problems worse not better.
Every single regulation, every single government rule – no matter how innocuous, interferes with the freedom of markets to make the adjustments needed to fix problems. Whether that is supply chains, energy, baby food, or whatever.
“ None of these new facts can force the media to see the elephant. The key to the trick was involving the media in the original trick is that it invests reporters in the illusion.”
No, what Turley doesn’t realize is that nobody cares. He’s been beating this dead horse for so long that nobody has any interest in watching this pointless flogging. It’s just a pathetic attempt at deflection. I’m sure Turley will write a column defending or questioning the testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson later today.
Turley says in full:
“None of these new facts can force the media to see the elephant. The key to the trick was involving the media in the original trick is that it invests reporters in the illusion. It is like calling audience members to the stage to assist in the performance. Reporters have to insist that there was nothing to see or they have to admit to being part of the original deception. The media cannot see the elephant without the public seeing something about the media in its past efforts to conceal it.”
How ironic! Turley perfectly describes the dilemma of Trumpists and his Fox colleagues. They can’t admit they were conned by the “carnival snake charmer”! It’s too humiliating…
So they will continue to deny that Trump is a liar in order to save face. They will never admit that they lied for Trump. NEVER. No new facts will ever force them or Fox News to see Trump for who he is.
Turley has to pretend that Trump and his lawyers acted in good faith despite their preposterous conspiracy theories; otherwise, it would be an implicit admission that Fox acted with malice in broadcasting Trump’s lies. Fox was instrumental in pushing the Big Lie, and it may end up paying hundreds of millions for defaming Smartmatic and Dominion.
“ How ironic! Turley perfectly describes the dilemma of Trumpists and his Fox colleagues. They can’t admit they were conned by the “carnival snake charmer”! It’s too humiliating…”
EXACTLY!! I’ve said this before and I believe Turley himself is in that group of suckers that trump and his cohorts conned into buying the big lie.
Last night’s testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson was not only first hand accounts, but testimony giving far more detail that makes a much more compelling argument about the intents behind Trump’s motives and those that enabled him. This is not the last of the evidence, there’s more to come.
Turley’s reaction to the committee:
1. Repeats the fact that the committee is not balanced;
2. Argues that Trump is a jerk, but there is not enough evidence that he is a criminal;
3. Tries to change the subject.
BUT, unlike lying Trumpists, Turley does NOT dispute the damning testimony!
Can you tell us what damning testimony is not hearsay?
You can’t, so why is the testimony damning?
“Cassidy Hutchinson’s Testimony against Trump Is Devastating”
It’s doubtful, for several reasons, that you read much more than the headline and a couple of paragraphs.
You can show me wrong by listing what McCarthy said that is devastating.
There is a lot of pretension of knowledge on your part.
Read it and weep
It’s great to know you have a subscription to N.R. You need it to read it.
Now you can create whatever story you want, but the truth has been adequately revealed.
There is no such thing as hearsay in a Congressional investigation, it’s reserved for actual trials. So all of it, every single bit, is damning.
The word hearsay exists in every venue. You don’t like the use of this word right now because deep down you know what Hutchinson said was mostly made up.
So how does that inform congress as to drafting legislation?
Hey Jeff, what about your repeated grand statements that you “stand with Turley”?
What about your promise never to post here again if Turley mentioned a Deep State Conspiracy? He did, it was shown to you…and yet here you are.
Do you have shifting alliances, and are you not a man of your word?
Karen S says:
“What about your promise never to post here again if Turley mentioned a Deep State Conspiracy? He did, it was shown to you…and yet here you are.”
You are mistaken. When Turley states “Deep State” WITHOUT quotation marks indicating that he does NOT subscribe to this paranoid conspiracy theory that Trumpists allege, I’ll depart.
“Jeff what about your repeated grand statements that you “stand with Turley”?
I stand with Turley on his characterization of Trump as a “carnival snake charmer,” but I do take issue with his hypocrisy in failing to criticize his employer, Fox, as well as Newsmax for advocacy journalism and fueling rage, both of which I applaud him for condemning within the MSM.
Whether it is a bet or a promise, Jeff always backs away
As was proven to you earlier, Turley has indeed written about the deep state, as well as the abuse of power to undermine Trump. This included when an FBI agent falsified a CIA email confirming Carter Page worked with them, changing it until it stated the opposite.
You stand with Turley, unless you’re trolling Turley.
You are a man of few parts.
Mentioning the “Deep State” is not the same as *believing* in it. Turley does not subscribe to that paranoid nonsense.
If you think “the deep state” is some Myth – you are blind.
Even Schumer accepts “the deep state”.
The only question is how malevolent, how partisan it is.
And how organized its conspiracy is.
It is absolutely self serving.
Just a small example would be that 50 intelligence officials called the Hunter Biden laptop possible Russian disinformation.
It required very little intelligence to understand that was BS from the start.
During the Trump administration we had myriads of leaks of damaging information regarding Trump – which universally proved false.
Either the Press was lying, or the leakers were, regardless this was malevolent and self serving.
Just a tiny fraction of what has leaked or even openly been expressed by “the deep state” leads to the clear conclusion that NONE of these people should have any role in protecting US interests from foreign enemies.
These people are Morons with way too much power.
Forget Trump – no one should trust these people with much of anything.
You wonder why Biden is doing so badly ?
Because these same people are providing the advice he relies on.
I’m sticking with Turley.
But you are not.
So your position is that Trump’s possibly, according to hearsay, getting angry and flying off the handle – but not by any light actually “leading an insurrection” as some of your more fevered coreligionists like to claim – is the real story, and the current president’s (and former VP’s and senator’s) decades of foreign influence peddling, facilitated by his son, increasingly in evidence, now in his own voice, is the “deflection”?
The scandal of the era belongs to the cooperating, complicit “news” and media organizations and the state of the once sacred profession of journalism. Their collusion with one major political party and their leadership to defeat and destroy the other party, their leadership and former President of the United States – before, during and after his term in office. The individual politicians each have their own responsibility for their own actions including the former and current Presidents but politicians have had questionable integrity since Adam and Eve. In America, where the press is protected in the first amendment of our constitution, it is this non-elected player who will shoulder its own shame and guilt for generations to come. .
FOX NEWS COVERAGE
OF HUTCHINSON’S TESTIMONY
SHOULD RING ALARM BELLS FOR TRUMP
Two Secret Service agents are prepared to testify before Congress that then-President Trump did not lunge at a steering wheel or assault them in an attempt to go to the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot, a source close to the Secret Service tells Fox News.
The explosive new allegations were made on Tuesday by Cassidy Hutchinson, a former top aide to Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.
White House Counsel Pat Cipollone repeatedly warned staff in the days before the rally that “we’re going to get charged with every crime imaginable” if Trump goes to the Capitol, Hutchinson testified.
Former aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows Cassidy Hutchinson testifies before the House Jan. 6 Committee on June 28, 2022, as Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., questions her.
Following Trump’s speech at the Ellipse, he got into the presidential SUV under the impression that he was going to the Capitol, then had a “very strong, very angry response” when the head of his Secret Service detail, Bobby Engel, said that they were going to the White House.
“The president said something to the effect of, ‘I’m the f’ing president. Take me up to the Capitol now,” Hutchinson testified, relaying what she was told later that day by another White House aide, Tony Ornato.
“The president reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm and said, ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing. We’re not going to the Capitol.'”
Engel and the SUV driver, an unnamed Secret Service agent, are prepared to testify before the Jan. 6 committee that the president didn’t lunge at the steering wheel. The Jan. 6 committee and the Secret Service are in discussions about whether one or both men will appear on camera.
Jody Hunt, a former Justice Department official in the Trump administration who is representing Hutchinson, tweeted that others with knowledge of the events should appear before the Jan. 6 committee.
“Ms. Hutchinson testified, under oath, and recounted what she was told,” Hunt tweeted. “Those with knowledge of the episode also should testify under oath.”
FULL STORY FROM:
This is a straightforward news story by Fox, a generally friendly source for Trump supporters. Yet the key passage below is ominous for Trump.
“Engel and the SUV driver, an unnamed Secret Service agent, are prepared to testify before the Jan. 6 committee that the president didn’t lunge at the steering wheel. The Jan. 6 committee and the Secret Service are in discussions about whether one or both men will appear on camera”.
Secret Service testimony will not end with lunge-at the-wheel debunking.
The Secret Service will lay out an official timeline of Trump’s entire day.
What Trump knew, and what he was told, will be explored in great detail. For multiple days, perhaps.
By the end of testimony, Hutchinson’s lunge-at-the-wheel story will be totally forgotten.
“we’re going to get charged with every crime imaginable” if Trump goes to the Capitol, Hutchinson testified.
Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus
And that applies to the committee. Multiple times they have knowingly altered testimony. This is just the latest. The Secret Service has fully cooperated with the committee. An honest panel would have gone to the source. Called the SS to testify about Jan 6. Not a person that could only testify about what she was told. The actions of the committee are a fraud.
She wasn’t just testifying to what she was told. She was testifying to what she heard and saw herself. That’s significant. The problem isn’t just the wheel lunging episode. It’s everything else. There appears to be coordination prior to the Jan 6 riots. They knew and Trump knew there were going to the Capitol. Then there’s the issue of weapons including AR-15’s, knives, even hidden spears as flagpoles.
Obviously trump was going to go with the crowd. He was intent on stopping congress from doing its job by force.
Mark Meadows, John Eastman, Jim Jordan, etc. should testify under oath if they want for set the record straight.
Then there’s the question of why did they all ask for pardons? If they didn’t do anything wrong why ask?
Hutchinson’s testimony was not only extremely compelling it was also first hand accounts that can’t easily be dismissed. The committee still has further proof to show the public. They are not done yet. The fact that this is giving Garland more and more evidence to use in prosecution is just the icing on the cake.
Hearsay doesn’t count. Liars lie…She is as bad as Christine Blasey Ford, but won’t get a Go Fund Me account to pay her millions for her lies.
That was all I could think as well. ‘Dr. Blasey-Ford? That you?’. 😂 They really need to spare us, already. Nobody is buying it. Because this administration has made them unable to afford anything. 😉
Blasey Ford, Jussie Smolet, Pelosi/Jan6 and other exhibits in the Democrats’ equity racket.
The only thing that can be labeled hearsay is the steering wheel incident. Everything else is first hand accounts meaning she heard it and saw it herself.
She testified under oath. If she lied let Meadows or Trump testify under oath to set the record straight. Otherwise it’s their word against hers.
Then there’s the question of why did they all ask for pardons? If they didn’t do anything wrong why ask?
Because the DoJ is a corrupt leftist crime family. As we see with the scripted Testimony of Blasey Hutchinson, finding people to lie under oath is not a problem.
So in other words you don’t have any justification for their need for a pardon.
Asking for a pardon is a sign of a guilty mind. They were expecting trump to pardon them for clearly engaging in an illegal attempt to overturn the election. The moment VP Pence refused to be part of the attempted coup. They knew it was only a matter of time before it all came out. We are seeing the beginning of their downfall.
She wasn’t just testifying to what she was told. She was testifying to what she heard and saw herself.
She wasn’t in the “beast”. (well, nobody was because the President was using the SUV that day) She only claims to repeat what she was told, which is about the same as reading her testimony from a script handed to her by the committee.
Always keeping in mind, her original testimony to the committee never drew any interest from the one or two people of the committee making all the decisions.
Only pertaining to that incident. Nobody cos saying that incident was a first hand account. The rest certainly was.
Only the agent’s testifying under oath can clear up that claim. Problem is the credibility of those agents testimony is suspect because there is evidence that they are Trump loyalists who would be willing to lie for Trump.
The best that can be done is have them testify under oath.
The best that can be done is have them testify under oath.
No. the minimum level of due diligence, would have been a simple phone call to one of the named agents. A quick verifiaction of the testimony.
We still have not seen her original testimony. The one that the committee found nothing that might be exploited.
You are correct that she testified to things she SAID she witnessed.
There is a growing body of evidence that testimony is FALSE.
As Iowan2 said “Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus”
Frankly, what I have heard of her testimony had two huge problems:
First none of it was relevant. Her testimony did not address any actual misconduct.
Every claim she made – even if true might disturb some, but it was legal.
Trump was free to go to the Capital on J6 if he wanted.
I beleive she claimed some staff sought pardon’s from Trump and Trump got angry with them.
That testimony HARMED arguments against Trump. It severely damaged the claim that Trump beleived his conduct was wrong.
Of course his conduct was not unconstitutional or illegal – one of the massive problkems the J6 committee has – they keep trying to criminalize political differences
There is now evidence there ware weapons at J6 – handguns. And these handguns were in the posession of people who have not been charged and are with near certainty federal officers.
There is evidence of coordination – but for coordination to be an illegal conspiracy there must be a CRIME.
You still do not seem to grasp that trying to “overturn” and election – is NOT a crime – so long as the means used are within the constitution and the law – and they clearly were.
Everything Democrats claim was a crime has occurred in the past – much of it as recently as 2016.
Proud Boys “planned” to “occupy the capital” – not a crime. No one has been arrested for “occupying” the wisconsin state capital in 2010,
or “occupying” the sidewalk at supreme court justices homes.
The whole “tresspassing” nonsense – is actually proof that pelosi and democrats violated he constituitional rights of protestors by barring them from the capital. Pelosi was free to accept the NG that Trump offered, and/or to use the capital police to assure that protestors going through the capital remained peaceful, and did not enter with weapons. But she did not do that. Instead she violated their first amendment rights.
If there is no tresspassing, and if the capital was locked down unconstitutionally – nearly everything else goes away.
There has been evidence for a long time that protestors brought weapons with them to DC. That is LEGAL – I know those on the left do not grasp that but gun ownership in the US is fully legal.
But the only firearms we have evidence were brought into the capial were with capital police or government agents.
That some protestors had weapons elsewhere is completely irrelevant.
There is no obligation or value to Eastman or anyone else testifying before a Kangaroo court to “set the record straight”.
Eastman as an example has no obligation or duty to subject himself to potential prosecution or other sanctions by testifying to the J6 committee,
He can “set the record straight” in public orin actually adversarial hearings before a court of law where he has counsel and he can be sure that his own questions and evidence will be presented.
IF you want “the record set straight” – do not conduct a kangaroo court.
We have been through this nonsense repeatedly with Faux impeachment I & II.
Hearings were held in the dungeon, only democrats were allowed to leak testimony, nothing exculpatory was allowed.
Democrats keep conducting hearings with ever greater self evident bias and they wonder why they are not beleived.
Julian Assange asked for a Pardon – and likely would have gotten one but for Faux impeachment II.
Julian Assange did nothing wrong.
A presidential pardon stops federal prosecution – whether you committed a crime or not.
But for Faux impeachment Deux it is likely Trump would have WISELY pardoned everyone associated with J6 – who did not engage in acts of violence.
“Hutchinson’s testimony was not only extremely compelling it was also first hand accounts that can’t easily be dismissed. ”
And yet it is not at all compelling and trivially dismissed.
First – even if True – Hutchinson said nothing of consequence. Soap opera’s are not criminal trials. What she testified is NOT evidence of a crime.
But it gets worse – because rapidly people who were also eyewitnesses came forward claiming she was lying, and volunteering to testify – even CBS and NBC reported this. It is unlikely the Garland DOJ will do anything but she should face perjury charges.
“The committee still has further proof to show the public. They are not done yet.”
We have heard that over and over.
“The fact that this is giving Garland more and more evidence to use in prosecution is just the icing on the cake.”
That is a stupid claim. There is absolutely nothing that the J6 committee has produced that Garland has not had for the past year – and he has not prosecuted. Because as much of an idiot as Garland is, so far he MOSTLY seems to know what is NOT a crime.
He also knows that if he starts prosecuting Republicans for fake crimes, that in 2024 Republicans will start prosecuting democrats for fake crimes – including possibly him.
I expect him to be impeached in 2023 – siccing the FBI on parents of school children as domestic terrorists is a HUGE abuse of power.
We have been through this nonsense with you over and over.
There was not Russian collusion – that is a Clinton Hoax.
Trump did not violate the emoluments clause.
Putin did not want Trump elected – he wanted Hillary – any but a moron can understand why – an the CIA does not have that many moron’s
Asking Zelensky to investigate the Biden’s corruption in Ukraine was not merely legitimate it was commendable.
The Claims about the Biden’s in Ukraine were not a debunked GOP conspiracy theory,
They were not russian disinformation
Joe Biden DID talk to his son about his business – he was a partner in his son’s business, he profitted from it and their finances werre intermingled.
The election was conducted lawlessly.
Mailin voting is unconstitutional in 38 states.
There was massive illegal ballot harvesting in 6 critical cities in 2020
Over and over and over – you do not recognize lies, immoral and often criminal conduct by democrats, and you create from whole cloth “conspiracy theories” about lies, immoral or illegal conduct by republicans.
You have no credibility – like hutchinson.
You do not even seem to know what credibility is.
We also need to understand, Hutchinson has changed her testimony. She change lawyers, and changed her testimony. The committee must release her original testimony. Just another example of the committee, knowingly falsifying evidence.
Iowan2, what proof is publicly available that she had a prior testimony thats different from the one she gave yesterday? How do YOU know about the previous testimony?
Changing lawyers is not controversial. She may have wanted to testify and her previous lawyer who worked at the White House may have been loyal to trump. So picking a lawyer not associated with the White House gave her the ability to testify having to worry about the lawyer giving trump allies a heads up. That’s just speculation of course but it’s more likely to be true.
We know there exists two separated testimonies taken by the committee. Both need to be released without editing. We know the first testimoy did not have anything the committee could exploit. Now we know the televised version is nothing but hearsay and lies.
“ We know there exists two separated testimonies taken by the committee.”
How do you know? Just saying “we know” is pure assumption. What is your proof that “we know”?
Who is saying that and what is the evidence of the other testimony?
It seems more like you don’t know anything and you are just spouting vague “knowns” without evidence.
What is the source of your claim ?
“ The author of a book on the Secret Service that covers the Trump years, Leonnig told Rachel Maddow that the pair “were very, very close to President Trump.”
“And some people accused them of at times being enablers and ‘yes men’ of the president—particularly Tony Ornato—and very much people who wanted to do what he wanted and see him pleased,” Leonnig said. “And that was frustrating to agents who were more focused on, say, security, or being independent, or good planning. So, both of these individuals lose a little credibility because of how closely they have been seen as aligned to Donald Trump.”
“ There was a very large contingent of Donald Trump’s detail who were personally cheering for [Joe] Biden to fail. And some of them even took to their personal media accounts to cheer on the insurrection and the individuals riding up to the Capitol as patriots. That is problematic,” Leonnig said.”
Looks like trump may have had his loyal subjects in the secret service. Of course they will lie for him if what it’s being said here is true.
That still doesn’t detract from everything else she said due to the fact that they are first hand accounts.
the fact that they are first hand accounts.
They are not ‘first hand’. The first hand say the conversation does not exist.
The SS is not standing around, gossiping with 20something staffers, like Blaisey Hutchingson, about the President of the United States. It goes against all their training.
“ They are not ‘first hand’. The first hand say the conversation does not exist.

The majority of Hutchinson’s testimony is first hand accounts of conversations she heard directly from Trump’s chief of staff and others around Trump.
What many don’t realize is that powerfully people like Trump and Meadows and others around Trump’s inner circle is that they often forget that aides, and staffers who ARE close by or right there also hear and see what they say and do. It’s an ignorance borne out of hubris from their assumption that the staffers or aides will ignore their conversations. That was THEIR big mistake.
As is being reported. The Secret service agents closest to Trump are loyalists and willing to lie for hm. I’m sure they will be perfectly willing to testify under oath about that incident.
This is an extremely good comment.
It’ll be forgotten just as fast as trump pissing in the bed Obama once slept in. There’ll be a CYA rush to ‘debunk’ it, the SS doesn’t like the look it leaves them with after all. But, much like the Mueller investigation, the right will try to make it all about that incident when really the damage was done by Trump’s saying to take away the metal detectors. That’s the smoking gun and that’s what moves things forward. It shows foreknowledge and intent for Trump in inciting a riot to obstruct counting of electoral votes — it just happens to be attached to his crippling insecurity about crowd size. And then there’s witness intimidation that will pyramid out as the general theme of his sure to come RICO conviction.
So no, for all of history, no one will forget about the story of trump lunging at the driver. What’s interesting is trumpists act like they have an AG who is going to squash evidence for him again. Total pipe dream, and basically, fairly impressive mental illness.
Did anyone else see the pretty Blaisey-Ford on television today? She should be shunned/cancelled for appropriating Jussie Smollett’s claim to fame.
Is Putin a terrorist as much as Osama bin Laden was?
Are Americans getting tyrannized as much as Ukrainians are?
