We recently discussed the Georgetown law professor who defended “more aggressive” protests targeting the Supreme Court justices, but Harvard clinical instructor Alejandra Caraballo wants to guarantee that “The 6 justices who overturned Roe should never know peace again.” Accordingly, Caraballo is calling for people to “accost them every time they are in public.” That harassment, according to Caraballo, is the “civic duty” of every American.
The tweet from Caraballo is the latest example of academics seeking to harass these justices because they hold opposing constitutional views. It is also an example of the addiction to rage that has developed in this country. There is a license that comes with rage that is evident in Caraballo’s writings: “Since women don’t have their rights, these justices should never have a peaceful moment in public again.” The tweets even attach photos to assist others in this ignoble enterprise.
These calls have continued despite the alleged attempted murder of Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his home recently.
Harvard is a joke.

Turley decries the “age of rage” without ever alluding to the role of his employer, Fox, in stirring such rage. If you watched yesterday’s J6 hearings, you know that Trump’s Big Lie was the stimulus for people to go to Washington to rally and then proceed to the Capitol. Fox was one of the main purveyors of the Big Lie that continues to divide Americans. All for the ego of a selfish narcissist. Has it ever apologized for causing people to doubt the 2020 election? No. Up until Tuesday, Fox tried to sow seeds of doubt about whether there ever was a 10 year old rape victim from Ohio. Some of the disciples on this blog even said it had been “disproven”. Turley also jumped on the bandwagon, and while not specifically claiming the story was a lie, tried to poke holes in it. The perpetrator has been arrested. Will Turley and/or Fox apologize? No.
This particular piece today pertains to the polticians in black robes who lied to get onto the SCOTUS, and who were appointed by someone who cheated his way into office with the help of Russian hackers, and who never won the popular vote. In the Dobbs decision, they stated that they were of the opinion that Roe was “egregiously wrong”, but never even hinted that this was their opinion when interviewed by Senators or in their confirmation hearings. Their answers were deliberately deceitful, because they knew that if they told the truth, they couldn’t get the power to overturn Roe and other rights guaranteed by the Constitution. So, they lied. So, they took away a woman’s right to choose and the ability of states to control guns. While they tried to deny that Dobbs could be construed to undermine the rights of marriage equality, consensual sex between adults and contraceptive, one of the “justices” says otherwise. This is just wrong.
Turley wants us to behave as if all of this is OK, just part of how America works, and that SCOTUS Justices are entitled to respect. It’s NOT OK. People are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it any more. These people should be ashamed that they lied to get onto the court of last resort, and that they twisted the logic of prior landmark decisions to arrive at their preferred outcome, but they aren’t. So, I really don’t find it offensive if people heckle them when they are in public or otherwise show them the disdain they have earned, so long as they don’t break any laws. They aren’t entitled to the usual respect earned by SCOTUS Justices.

3) Plenty of prior Supreme Court decisions have been overturned by later Supreme Court decisions. I’m sure if those decisions align with your way of thinking, you wouldn’t be so quick to condemn them. White progressives do not have the moral authority to excommunicate a black man from his race because they disagree with him.
And those – regardless of background – who join in the charade or remain silent are guilty of enabling this abuse.
We, the undersigned, condemn the barrage of racist, vicious, and ugly personal attacks that we are witnessing on Clarence Thomas – a sitting Supreme Court justice. Michael Pack: You have talked a little today about how life in the black community has not been improved by many well-intentioned social programs. Do you think, in some sense, it is worse than when you grew up?
Clarence Thomas: It’s a disaster. When I grew up, you had family, you didn’t have drugs, you didn’t have gang-banging. You could walk down the street.
There was a change in our society. I think that these programs certainly had an impact. Just go back to Savannah and take a look around you. Our worst fears were realized. We didn’t want to be right; we wanted to be wrong. It wasn’t about winning an argument. No, we wanted to lose the argument. We did not want the damage to occur; that’s why we were involved. I don’t particularly like public life; I never wanted to be in public life. I’d like to go to football games. I’d like not to make decisions about other people’s lives, but what drags you into it is when you see these principles being undermined, which leads to such destruction. The policies destroy people, and, ultimately, I think, we’re going to destroy the very thing that allows us to have liberty and to have a free society.
MP: You’ve made many trips back to both Pin Point and Savannah. When you return, do you reflect on your life? Do you reflect on how it is now?
CT: I don’t reflect a lot about these sorts of things. A lot of this is depressing, and it didn’t have to happen. The Savannah that I return to is not the Savannah I grew up in. There are good parts, you’re free to move about. You don’t have the segregation, but you’ve got pathologies that we didn’t have before. You’ve got the crime we didn’t have before. You’ve got the disintegration of families that you didn’t have before, disorder you didn’t have before. And they were things that were avoidable. Many of us who follow Professer Turley’s writings are not anti-homosexual nor anti-transgender, nor have we been so in our lives. So when one researches this person who calls for SCOTUS Justices to not know a moment of peace, and learns she, formerly a he, is a big-time activist in the LGBTQIA+ world, in New York politics and elsewhere, and has called for the extreme defunding of the New York City Police Department, this sheds some light upon what gives rise to these comments.
Does Harvard University approve of this comment by one of their own?
If Harvard does not cancel/fire/terminate/punish/sanction this individual for this comment, the next steps should include obtaining the list of donors to Harvard, as well as all alumni of the school, as well as all of its Professors and Associate Professors, and its Staff and Executive Level personnel—- and bring this to their attention and ask them to take a stand – one way or the other — “Do you agree, or do you disagree” Just as our current Vice President would say, as she said when questioning witnesses as a Senator ‘it’s a yes or no question!’ It’s the out of control ‘rage maniacs’ who make this next step necessary, but the cooler heads (most of us Americans) to prevail.

The publicly-traded corporation that manufactures Kevlar and other bullet-proof protection should see a substantial increase in its profits in the months and years ahead — remember when the school shooting happened in Florida at the Stoneman location, when the backpack manufacturers started producing backpacks with bullet-proofing for schoolkids? Here we are many years later —- and the rage has gotten a lot worse —- but the protection for our kids hasn’t changed much.
And that’s why your previous column on free speech rights of the mob in front of the justices’ homes is wrong. They’re not exercising “free speech.” They’re exercising harassment and intimidation. Does any justice, or their family feel safe leaving their home or walking around the neighborhood? If not, then this isn’t a free speech issue. It’s a threat issue.
