Res Ipsa Hits 61,000,000

Yesterday, Res Ipsa passed the 61,000,000 mark in views on the blog. We have used these moments to give thanks for our many regular readers around the world and share our traffic data to give you an idea of the current profile of readers around the world.

As always, I want to offer special thanks for Darren Smith, who has continued to help manage the blog and help out folks who encounter posting problems.  I also want to thank Kristin Oren who continues her amazing work proofing posts on a daily basis to remove my embarrassing typos.  Finally, I would like to thank our regular readers who alert me to typos or any violations of the civility or copyright policies on the blog.

We have continued to post the highest traffic numbers for each month this year.

So here is our current profile:

As of this morning, we have over 20,742 posts and roughly 1,200,000 comments. We are at roughly 318,000 Twitter followers.  We have roughly 6,600 people who signed up for alerts by emails.

This is an expanding vibrant community and it is a great pleasure to see our community expanding around the world. I particularly appreciate most of our readers remaining civil respectful to others. While we have our trolls and blind partisans, most of those on this blog value passionate but civil discourse. It remains a great honor to serve as the host of such a growing and vibrant community.

  1. All comment boards attract trolls and haters, usually on the Left (not always), but this one is far better than most. Regardless of viewpoint, we all should agree that Professor Turley provides a wonderful starting point for sincere discussion. I have learned a lot here.

To make the blog even better, would it possible for JT to (1) engage with the commenters in an appropriate and not too burdensome manner and frequency, and (2) make greater efforts to promote blog civility (and discourage incivility like name calling and personal insults) and provide additional information and transparency regarding the types of actions that result in comments being removed or commenters being banned (or reprimanded)? Thanks for you consideration.

I enjoy your writing from a conservate point of view, always reminding us that most analyses are based on assumptions. I am eagerly waiting on you takes about DC Court of Appeals ruled that DoJ must release an internal memo advising then-Attorney General Bill Barr in March 2019 to determine that former President Trump did not obstruct justice. CREW [1] sued.

      Your link to a Marxist group with the misnomer Citizens for Ethics, dedicates all of its screeds on Trump. The tell: they sued him on his inaugural day. Yet nothing about Obama corrupting the Federal government, Joe Biden / Burisma / Hunter, Hillary Clinton’s “Clinton Foundation” corruption (just to mention one of her many corrupt acts), and laughably the mother of dark money Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut gets no mention at all. How do you “agitprop” in Chinese?

        Allow me a short flash back:
        2008 DEM Primary: Hillary Clinton lost to a former Civil Rights attorny and freshman Senator of Illinois in his third year of service.
        2008 John McCain’s Concession Speech: Although in his Arizona’s home turf, a significant number of his supporters booed when he addresses President elect.
        2009:President Obama in his Inauguration speech: “On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.” [1]
        2009: Eric Holder [4) was appointed as AG to the Cabinet. After his resignation, he was succeeded by Loretta Lynch [5]
        2014: David Brock, one of the most influential operatives within DNC, was elected as board president of “Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington”. According to “Washington Information Directory”, CREW is a “nonpartisan U.S. government ethics and accountability watchdog organization”.
        Ongoing: Since President Trump took office, countless Criminal Investigations were filed and selectively leaked in part, while the progress in “matters” that occured during Obama Administration is manageable [6].

        In short: As this topic is too serious for creating a parody,I leave it there.

        My comments shouldn’t be placed into delusional column either (I neither feal mental ill nor have unrealistic beliefs). I just worry that Republican Leadership is still distract from focusing to flip congress in fall. Its so sad, that those who have live-long experiences and those who are popular, don’t find common ground that strengthen ISSUES, VOTERS care. Here is just one example:

        VOTERS value endorsements from former President Trump. As # 45 is a political outsider (he doesn’t know about VOTERS opinion about carpetbagger), he judges (mainly) about popularity [7]:and in absolutes (pro/against). After started with a heavy bag (Dr. Mehmet Oz lives in a manison in Cliffside Park, NJ overlooking the Manhattan’s skyline) to hold PA’s Senate seat, he added weight by running on wrong topics and talking about issues that VOTERS don’t deeply care about [8]. David McCormick wouldn’t need a MAGA rally on 9/3 to cliimb a road that might be too steep for Dr. Oz to cross the finishline on top.

  13. I am truly grateful that Professor Turley remains firmly anchored in the constitution and the framers original intent. That makes this blog a reliably fixed reference point around which we can see our culture and politics moving.

      That, and this, are what I appreciate: That he has culture-wide interests, and a mind that can see broader issues — as opposed to the legal blogs that focus just on the technicalities of the law. (That’s not a condemnation of those blogs, just not my interest.)

  17. There’s so much information available, one has to be discerning with their sources. After listening to Professor Turley’s reasoned logic on Fox News, absent the normal political spin or hyperbole, I became a fan and read his posts religiously.
