“I Know Nothing, Nothing!” : The National Archives Just Torpedoed Biden’s Sgt. Schultz Defense

For years, President Joe Biden has maintained a Sgt. Schultz defense to allegations that his family has profiteered on influence peddling with foreign countries and companies. Despite mounting evidence to the contrary, Biden maintains that he “knows nothing, nothing” about Hunter Biden’s business deals. He recently doubled down on this defense by even denying that family members received money from foreign sources. He repeated his denial even after the release of financial transfer reports from his own administration showing millions transferred from China. Now, emails have emerged that show that Biden personally helped draft responses to the controversial deals in 2015 when he was Vice President. It also appears that Biden officials like former Biden Communications Director Kate Bedingfield knew of his role as the President continued to deny any involvement.

The National Archives has released emails that show that then-Vice President Joe Biden approved an official statement in December 2015 about Hunter Biden’s position on a Ukrainian energy company’s board.

Biden has denied any knowledge or involvement in these business dealings at least seven times as a presidential candidate and as president.

For years, the media has continued to report President Biden’s repeated claim that “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.” At the outset, the media only had to suspend any disbelief that the president could fly to China as Vice President with his son on Air Force 2 without discussing his planned business dealings on the trip.

Of course, the emails on the laptop quickly refuted this claim. However, the media buried the laptop story before the election or pushed the false claim that it was fake Russian disinformation.

Some in the media have repeated those denials, including most recently the Associated Press which, in 2022, falsely stated that there was no evidence Biden ever discussed the deals with his son despite an actual audiotape proving that claim to be false.

The audiotape showed President Biden leaving a message for Hunter specifically discussing coverage of those dealings:

“Hey pal, it’s Dad. It’s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you. I thought the article released online, it’s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you’re clear. And anyway if you get a chance give me a call, I love you.”

Some of us have written for two years that President Biden’s denial of knowledge is patently false. It was equally evident that the Biden family was selling influence and access. There are emails of Ukrainian and other foreign clients thanking Hunter Biden for arranging meetings with his father. There are photos from dinners and meetings that tie President Biden to these figures, including a 2015 dinner with a group of Hunter Biden’s Russian and Kazakh clients.

People apparently were told to avoid directly referring to President Biden. In one email, Tony Bobulinski, then a business partner of Hunter’s, was instructed by Biden associate James Gilliar not to speak of the former veep’s connection to any transactions: “Don’t mention Joe being involved, it’s only when u [sic] are face to face, I know u [sic] know that but they are paranoid.”

Instead, the emails apparently refer to President Biden with code names such as “Celtic” or “the big guy.” In one, “the big guy” is discussed as possibly receiving a 10 percent cut on a deal with a Chinese energy firm; other emails reportedly refer to Hunter Biden paying portions of his father’s expenses and taxes.

Bobulinski has given multiple interviews in which he stated that he met twice with Joe Biden to discuss a business deal in China with CEFC China Energy Co. That would seem obvious evidence. In addition, the New York Post reported on a key email that discussed “the proposed percentage distribution of equity in a company created for a joint venture with CEFC China Energy Co.” That was the email on March 13, 2017 that included references of “10 held by H for the big guy.”

The new emails show that, as early as 2015, Bedingfield told Hunter’s top financial lieutenant Eric Schwerin via email that Joe Biden approved a statement regarding Hunter’s board position. Yet, for years, Biden’s communications office repeated his denial of any involvement or knowledge. That stands in contradiction to Bedingfield’s 2015 email acknowledging that “VP signed off on this — will give this quote to reporters in my name shortly.” Bedingfield left the White House in 2023.

The White House has continued the categorical denials. When confronted by Fox News’ Peter Doocy on the transfer records showing millions sent from China, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded:

“Look, I’m just not going to respond to that from here. Look, we have heard from House Republicans for years and years and years how — the inaccuracies and lies when it comes to this issue. And, I don’t even where to begin to even answer that question because, again, it’s been lies and lies and inaccuracy for the past couple of years and I’m just not going to get into it from here.”

The only reason that Biden would even attempt to maintain this clearly false defense is that he could count on a supportive media to blunt any attacks and limit inquiries.

Of course, there is a difference with the Sgt. Schulz defense. Schultz was harmless and comical. The Biden influence peddling allegation is neither. Despite the striking lack of interest of many in the media, this is about millions of dollars paid to the First Family by foreign sources, including some with foreign intelligence ties.

Influence peddling has long been the favored form of corruption in Washington. While many Democrats repeatedly stress that influence peddling is not criminal, it is corrupt and the Bidens appear to be a class in themselves. Yet, even with the clear contradiction of the President’s repeated statements to the public, Democrats still oppose any investigation into the alleged influence peddling.

What made Sgt. Schultz funny is precisely why the Biden defense is collapsing. The refusal of the media to see what is now in plain view will convince no one. At some point, Democratic leaders will have to recognize the obvious or join the Bidens (and many journalists) in the cast of this theater of the absurd.

  1. We’re doomed as a country.
With all of the pressing news happening today, this is the caliber of press question being asked of Gov. DeSantis:

Reporter: “NAACP asked to issue a travel advisory for Black Americans advising them not to come to Florida over the AP African American History controversy, as well as the DEI ban.”

    1. Why does NAACP get to use the racist term Colored People and still avoid being canceled?

      1. Same reason you get to use the title IDIOT. It’s historical in nature.

      2. Answer: Because “Crazy Abe” threw the baby out with the bathwater.

Lincoln, in all his glorious brilliance, violated the Constitution from secession denial to the suspension of habeas corpus, all encapsulated in an unconstitutional, insane “Reign of Terror.”

Lincoln threw the Constitution out with slavery, which must, by law, have been a simple matter of immediate compassionate repatriation – the overwhelming desire of abductees universally is to be returned to their homes and lineage as soon as possible.

    2. Just two questions Congress should address: 1. Were payments to Joe Biden bribery? 2. Is it an impeachment offense?

      1. Of course they weren’t bribery. People just liked giving money to the Bidens because he was important.

  2. Either a group of patriots is going to act decisively to defend and support the freedom of the American restricted-vote republic, under the dominion of the Constitution and Bill of Rights,

or Americans will soon begin reporting to their communist masters in China.

    ________

The communists (liberals, progressives, socialists, democrats, RINOs, AINOs) are the enemy.

The Constitution is conservative and actual Americans are conservative – the conservative, the whole conservative, and nothing but the conservative, so help you God.

Americans cannot exist in freedom while under the communist principles of central planning, control of the means of production (i.e. unenumerated, unconstitutional regulation), redistribution of wealth and social engineering, and “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”

America cannot simultaneously exist under the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the Communist Manifesto.

    America must completely abolish communism.

    1. Did you happen to see the coverer of the Economist? The headline on the cover page is: THE WORD ACCORDING TO XI!

  3. Let’s count Johnathan Turley’s big fat lies:
    1. He equates an acknowledgement of his son’s directorship at Burisma as involvement in his son’s business affairs.
    2. He equates an email fragment asking a question about a never-operative venture “10 for the big guy?” (Definitely answered with a NO) as his imaginary “proof” of Joe’s involvement in a venture that never happened.
    3. He says Hunter “peddled influence” but Turley couldn’t show evidence of a quid pro quo, where anyone paying Hunter got something improper in return, if you put a gun to his head.
    4. the Chinese conglomerate that paid consulting fees in 2017 to Hunter was in liquidation by 2018.
It doesn’t matter if “the laptop was real” or “the emails area real” because the words give zero evidence of anything improper.
Turley like all disciples of Goebbels, repeats his lies endlessly.

    1. You know who has the actual ‘receipts’ that will almost certainly never see the light of day?

        1. for starters…
          1) Biden still asserts that he had no involvement with Hunter’s appointment to Burisma. [This is a verifiable lie.]
          2) As VP he signed off on the official statement in response to questions from reporters about whether Hunter’s position undermined his own credibility in pushing anti-corruption measures. [Obvious conflict]
          3) Video evidence of VP Biden bragging about intervening to get the prosecutor looking into Burisma corruption fired.
          4) Trump was impeached for a phone call seeking to uncover *Biden’s corruption*…

    2. Lies? I don’t think so. You can disagree with Turley’s conclusions, but calling him a liar is baseless.

It was found that Joe Biden lied about knowing about, discussing, and being involved in Hunter’s business dealings. If you would recall, Joe Biden said, on video, that he never discussed Hunter’s business. His claim that he never discussed Hunter’s business dealings with Hunter, or anyone else in the family, is on video, which you can look up. There is also proof that Hunter provided things of value to associates from his father.

      https://nypost.com/2022/04/06/heres-a-dozen-times-joe-biden-played-a-role-in-hunters-deals/

“The latest example emerged Wednesday, when it was revealed that Hunter Biden got his dad to write a recommendation letter to Brown University for the son of a powerful Chinese business associate, Jonathan Li.

“Jonathan, Hunter asked me to send you a copy of the recommendation letter that he asked his father to write on behalf of Christopher for Brown University,” Hunter Biden’s then-business partner, Eric Schwerin, wrote to Li on Feb. 18, 2017, in an email first revealed by Fox News.”

Proof that the money from Hunter Biden’s schemes went into Joe Biden’s bank account:

“In a 2019 text message to his daughter Naomi, Hunter Biden bitterly wrote, “I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years.” He added, “It’s really hard. But don’t worry, unlike Pop [Joe], I won’t make you give me half your salary.”

Meanwhile, White House chief of staff Ron Klain was revealed this week to have hit up Hunter Biden for help raising $20,000 for the foundation that maintains the vice president’s official residence.”

“Vadym Pozharskyi, a Burisma exec and adviser to its board, sent Hunter Biden an April 17, 2015, email that said, “Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure.”

One day earlier, Joe Biden attended a dinner at Washington, DC’s Cafe Milano with some of his son’s business associates from Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan.

An unverified photo apparently shows the Bidens posing between two of the guests who attended that night, Kazakhstani banking oligarch Kenes “Kenges” Rakishev and Karim Massimov, a former prime minister of Kazakhstan.”

      1. You seem susceptible to Turley’s and the NYPost’s six-degrees-of-separation game that falsifies the details of a fact situation to invent “corruption” out of thin air. If you were an adult you’d know that Vadym Pozharskyi’s momentary meet-and-greet at a charity fundraiser amounted to nothing without some concrete followup. You seem shocked that Hunter Biden is just like John Quincy Adams, Liza Minelli, every adult I’ve ever known, who learns that name dropping opens doors. You need something more to make a case of impropriety.

        1. If you are correct then the Biden’s need not fear a through investigation.
Particularly of conduct during Biden’s vice presidency.

I would remind you that with the Trump impeachments (and current prosecutions) and the collusion delusions you have established the standard.

Investigations need no evidence. Lies and hoaxes are sufficient.

          Except there is evidence.

Proof beyond a reasonable doubt ? maybe not – we shall see.
Proof beyond what was necescary to flip the 2020 election – easily met.

          1. “Investigations need no evidence. Lies and hoaxes are sufficient.

            Except there is evidence.”

You need probable cause. And there is no evidence. The “evidence” everyone cites including you involve the djfnyc pointed out. None are proof of wrongdoing or illegal acts.

“Proof beyond what was necescary to flip the 2020 election – easily met.”

LOL! No. It’s no different than Kari Lake’s constant failures at “proving” voter fraud denied her a win in Arizona. That BS has gone stale. djfnyc’s description of what is really going on is spot on. A Six degrees of separation game is all that is keeping the “corruption” delusion going

            1. Guess you didn’t hear the big news that the AZ Supreme Court just ruled in favor of Kari Lake forcing the lower court to look at signature verification issues.

              1. Anonymous, the AZ Supreme Court ruled on a technicality that won’t change the outcome of the election. The court only ruled on one of 7claims in her favor. That’s hardly a victory.

            2. You need probable cause for a warrant. You need reasonable suspicion for an investigation.

There is far more evidence of Biden Corruption than of Trump Russia collusion – and yet we had a Special Counsel appointed by a DOJ that KNEW at the time that the Steele Dossier, the Alpha bank nonsense were Hoaxes months BEFORE the SC was appointed.

When Mueller was appointed – there was no “probable cause” there was no reasonable suspicion”
We have Strzok on the record Begging the FBI not to close the investigation even though the legal justification had completely evaporated inj Early January.

As to Biden – the “family has now been tied to 11 more “deals” – based on the SAR’s that are now being traced.

Do you think that maybe over 100 SARs = Suspicions Banking activity Reports MIGHT be reasonable suspicion ?

Actually it is beyond Probable cause.

Drug dealers have been convicted on less.

To Be Clear I want the Bidens to have the full benefit of the law and protection of their rights.

I do not beleive – though I could be wrong, that this investigation will prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Joe Biden was paid money for official actions as Vice President.

While there is more than enough on Hunter – The head of the ATF screwed up in Congress yesterday – he was asked if the ATF prosecutes people who lie on their Firearms background check, and he responded that they are prosecutec and could get up to 15 years in federal prison.
And was then asked – Why is hunter Biden still on the streets.

There is more than enough to convict Hunter.

It is probable that there may be enough to convict other family members.

I beleive there is already more than enough to impeach Biden. But there is not yet enough for the Senate to Remove him. 17 Democrats would have to vote to remove Biden. We are a long way from that.

            3. You are aware that the AZ Supreme court concluded that Judge Thomson’s refusal to look at Lake’s signature verification claim was error, and Lake’s lawsuit is back in the AZ Trial court again.

I would also suggest that you review the original actual hearing – it is all available on Youtube. There is no way Lake should have lost in the first place.
The standard of proof to overturn an election – is NOT proof of fraud beyond a reasonable doubt – there is no criminal defendant.
The standard is there is sufficient evidence to district the results of the election – Lake easily met that burden.

I doubt Lake will win the Signature Verification case – but she has atleast 3 Whistle Blowers from Maricopa county who have aggreed to testify who have claimed that they rejected 130,000 Maricopa County Mailin Ballots for failure to meet the AZ laws signature requirements, and higher up election officials overruled them without examining the ballot envolops and directed those ballots to be counted.

You can pretend if you wish that Hobbs actually won. You can pretend there was no actual fraud. You can pretend that the “voter supression” in Maricopa County was just error.

What you Can not pretend is that Maricopa County made a total complete hash of the 2022 (and 2020) election, and no sane person should trust the results.

The Maricopa County Election is far from the only dubious election in 2022 or 2020. But it is by far the clearest untrustworthy election.

The AZ election is especially noteworthy – because Hobbs who allegedly won also conducted the election.

            4. djfnyc may be more clueless than you.
Neither opf you are even slightly familiar with actual Facts.

djfnyc actually thinks there is evidence that Shokin was corrupt – there is not.

He is unaware that there were red flags popping up all over regarding Biden’s dealings in Ukraine – Even while Biden was VP.
That the NY Times ran a story in 2015. that the State Department and Obama WH were deeply concerned

And that there has been plenty of documents to support all of this long before the Hunter Biden Laptop.

In other news the Twitter files revealed that Twitter actually investigated searching for the “Russian Bots” that Mueller claims were used to “influence” the 2016 election. And found ZERO evidence of Russian Bots – and specifically the IRA engaged in any election related activity in 2016.

So another Mueller claim (as well as Senate Intelligence report) down the tubes.

It is odd. You fight tooth and nail to diminish what can be PROVEN,
And still cling desperately to claims that have no evidence at all and have often been disproven.

            5. The Chines paid Walker – who is in business with the Bidens.
Walker distributed that money to 4 Biden’s.

That is 1 Degree of separation.

The Biden’s Chinese handler has been convicted and is in Jail.
Evidence of his dealings with Hunter – with Hunters name redacted was used to convict him.
That is zero degrees of separation.

If your going to make arguments – it is not wise to make them transparently stupid and obviously false.

I guess you can get an extra two degrees of separation because Joe Biden is Two Faced,
And because he does nto know what he is doing.

It is entirely possible that Joe no longer remembers working with Hunter on these deals.

        2. djfnyc – you state: “If you were an adult you’d know that Vadym Pozharskyi’s momentary meet-and-greet at a charity fundraiser amounted to nothing without some concrete followup.” How do you know that the conversation between Joe Biden and Pozgarskyis was “momentary”? The email says: “Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together,” [Pozharskyi wrote on April 17, 2015.] “It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure.” “Some time together” is not “momentary.”
Further, this was not really a charity event. It appears that it was designed by Hunter Biden to allow his “clients” to meet Joe Biden:
“Hunter told guests before the dinner that his father would be attending. In one email, he appears to use his role on the board of World Food Program USA as a cover story for the evening’s true purpose of introducing his father to his business associates.
“Ok – the reason for the dinner is ostensibly to discuss food security,” writes Hunter on March 26 to Michael Karloutsos, son of the then-head of the Greek Orthodox Church.
“Dad will be there but keep that between us for now. Thanks.”
Karloutsos replies: “Everything is between us. All good‎! … I know you mentioned your dad would probably join the dinner as well.”
          https://nypost.com/2021/05/26/hunter-biden-arranged-secret-dinner-with-business-partners-and-vp-joe/

            https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/06/07/hunter-bidens-laptop-april-16-2015-dinner/
“Leach recalled that the dinner involved about 10 to 12 people in a private room but that Joe Biden “didn’t even sit down. He was not part of the dinner or part of the dinner discussion.” Instead, he just spoke to Karloutsos.”

You should be careful about parsing words in an email by someone whose native language isn’t English. It’s not clear at all that “spend some time together” is with Hunter Biden or Joe Biden.

Beware of the professional liars at the New York Post.

            1. Yeah right trusted sources like the Amazon Compost.
You know what time it is?
              Time to impeach Biden.
              and Garland.
              for starters…

            2. djfnyc – First, why would a charity event about world hunger be in a “private room” in a restaurant? If you claim that it was about “world hunger”, what concrete anti-hunger actions resulted?
Second, Pozgarskyis says that he met and spent time with Joe Biden. Why would he lie? It is not a language problem.
Third, why would a charitable event about world hunger involve so many people with no relation to food production or distribution, such as the corrupt, former Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkovhis and his wife Russian billionaire Yelena Baturina; or Pozharskyi, who was an executive of the corrupt energy firm, Burisma; or a couple of businessmen from Khazakstan, with whom Hunter had and would have “business deals”: Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov, and an associate of Massimov, oligarch Kenes Rakishev? [NYP: “Rakishev’s company Novatus used a Latvian bank to wire $142,300 to Archer’s firm, Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC, on April 22, 2014, according to a currency transaction report recorded in the Republican Senate report. The wire included a note saying the money was “for a car.” https://nypost.com/2021/05/26/hunter-biden-arranged-secret-dinner-with-business-partners-and-vp-joe/ ]
Fourth, there is a photograph on the internet that shows Joe Biden with Massimov and Rakishev. [ “Massimov and Rakishev appear in an unverified photograph, posing alongside a smiling Joe Biden and Hunter, which was posted on a Kazakhstani anti-corruption website in 2019.” https://nypost.com/2021/05/26/hunter-biden-arranged-secret-dinner-with-business-partners-and-vp-joe/ ]
Sixth, as to Leach’s claim that Joe Biden only spoke with Karloutsos, how likely is that in a small room, where people circulated for an hour or two, that Joe Biden only talked to one person? Was he sleeping?
Finally, the professional iiars are not at the New York Post.

              1. Edward
I’m surprised I need to explain this. In DC and in most cities, there are fundraisers for everything where people pay a lot of money for dinner at a fancy venue. Politicians meet lots of people whom they don’t remember. I’ve met several big politicians who don’t remember me. To make a case of impropriety, you need to show somebody did something because of a meeting. No one anywhere has ever shown anything about connected to any meeting or that Burisma ever got anything special.

                https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/10/03/what-really-happened-when-biden-forced-out-ukraines-top-prosecutor/3785620002/

                https://www.factcheck.org/2020/10/trump-revives-false-narrative-on-biden-and-ukraine/

Don’t by snookered by the NY Post scam of falsifying an email fragment to invent an imaginary scandal. To make a case of impropriety, you need to show facts that somebody for an improper economic benefit for paying Hunter Biden. Which no one has ever done.

    3. “Let’s count Johnathan Turley’s big fat lies:
      1. He equates an acknowledgement of his son’s directorship at Burisma as involvement in his son’s business affairs.”
One is a subset of the others. Regardless Joe Biden was unequivocal – he had NO knowledge, not SOME.
      That is called lying.
Further Burisma is not the only demonstration of knowledge.

Regardless, the issue is legitimate to investigate.

“2. He equates an email fragment asking a question about a never-operative venture “10 for the big guy?” (Definitely answered with a NO) as his imaginary “proof” of Joe’s involvement in a venture that never happened.”
The CLAIM was “never operative” The evidence is that this is refering to the Ho deal that resulted into Millions flowing to the Biden family.

Regardless, Never operative is relevant with respect to proof beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime occured.
It is still a demonstration of criminal intent.
Are you trying to say that one and only one Hunter Biden deal – one that never went through had 10 for the Big guy,
That Joe Biden was only part of One deal that never went through ?
      There were LOTS of deals.

“3. He says Hunter “peddled influence” but Turley couldn’t show evidence of a quid pro quo, where anyone paying Hunter got something improper in return, if you put a gun to his head.”
Correct, you need proof beyond a reasonable doubt of a quid pro quo to convict someone of a crime.
“10 for the big guy” is more than sufficient for an investigation.
It is also more than sufficient for an impeachment.
It is much more than you had on Trump.

“4. the Chinese conglomerate that paid consulting fees in 2017 to Hunter was in liquidation by 2018.
It doesn’t matter if “the laptop was real” or “the emails area real” because the words give zero evidence of anything improper.
Turley like all disciples of Goebbels, repeats his lies endlessly.”

I have no idea what you think you were arguing. The contents of the laptop are from approximately the time of liquidation going backward in time.
In otherwords exactly the time this deal was in place or being negotiated.
I would further note – and damning that the process began in 2015 – not 2017.
      While Biden was VP.

With respect to a Quid Pro Quo – the Claim from the documents is that Ho was paying for introductions – introductions by VP Joe Biden. It is possible that is not a crime – but it does involve VP Biden, and depending it is possible that it is a crime.
      Regardless it is corrupt.
Regardless it is something voters were entitled to know.

You rant about democracy – but how do you have actual democracy when YOU control what people are allowed to know ?

      1. John Say
With Turley’s prompting, you seem to let your imagination get ahead of the facts. Going thru each:
“1. He equates an acknowledgement of his son’s directorship at Burisma as involvement in his son’s business affairs.”
One is a subset of the others. Regardless Joe Biden was unequivocal – he had NO knowledge, not SOME.
        That is called lying.”
You don’t offer a direct quote because there is none. Which is why you can invent a lie. Knowing that his son had a directorship is not the same thing as Joe Biden “discussing business,” as adults understand the term.

        2. “Regardless, Never operative is relevant with respect to proof beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime occured.
It is still a demonstration of criminal intent.
Are you trying to say that one and only one Hunter Biden deal – one that never went through had 10 for the Big guy,
That Joe Biden was only part of One deal that never went through ?
        There were LOTS of deals.
The evidence is that this is refering to the Ho deal that resulted into Millions flowing to the Biden family.”

FALSE. James Gilliar asked with a question mark if “the big guy” would take a 10% stake of a venture that was never funded. Look at the actual email. Documentation for that venture proved that Joe’s answer was no. Tony Bobulinski is a big fat liar. Hunter tried to launch a second venture without Bobulinski, which never did deals because CEFC collapsed soon thereafter. Zero evidence that Ho was introduced to Joe Biden.

        3. Again, the actual email, a question from James Gilliar, shows nothing about Joe Biden.

        4. . if you lived in the capitalist world, you’d know that money talks, BS walks. There is zero evidence that anyone was negotiating any deal before 2017, and nothing was signed before 2017.

It was obvious Bobulinski and Turley were liars years ago. Here’s one example:

        https://insidersgame-com.medium.com/tony-bobulinskis-hunter-biden-story-adds-up-to-nothing-but-let-s-drill-down-into-the-details-ffb337dd8da1

        1. 2), Apparently you can not read.

Whether the deal went through or not is irrelevant to the probability that this was the only deal that involved Joe Biden.
Further the cite demonstrates as do others that Joe was involved -.

I provided you one of MANY you tub clips of Biden saying “I know nothing”
There is also several documents proving that is a lie.

Is it in theory possible that this one day which may or may not have gone through – is the only deal that involved joe.
          It is not likely.

As to did the deal go through – you cite people saying it did not. Yet here we are money from Ho in China approximately in concert with the same deal.

Is Tony Bobulinski is a big fat liar. Maybe.
Who should we beleive – a president who has never had a real job, a coke adict who sleeps with russian hookers, underage girls, and possibly engages in human tafficking while featuring himself in home made porn videos,

          Or an ex-navy seal.

I could be wrong, but my money is on the navy seal.

          1. If you were familiar with the business world, you would know that managers of investment funds get paid big fees off the top, which is what happened to Hunter and James Biden for a few months in 2017 before CEFC collapsed. in September 2017 they decided to move ahead without Bobulinski, who was privy to nothing.

There are zero documents that show Joe Biden knew about any deals. At best, documents suggest Hunter hoped to include his father in a stillborn venture and Joe, if he were paying attention, wasn’t interested. He can’t “talk business” or “be involved” in a business that didn’t exist. A six-degrees-of-separation connection is not “being involved.”

It’s not about Hunter’s word against others. The accusers need to show evidence to support their claims. Bobulinski’s claim, that Joe was involved, is debunked by legal documents.

            1. How many businesses have you managed ? I beleive I have had a management role in atleast 8 or 9.

With respect to your claim – not so much – Fees are typically based on performance.
You kind of can’t preform before the investing starts.

Is there any situation structured as you claim ? Probably – but most competent investors would not provide up front money to inexperienced investors with no track record.

But if you want to Claim the Biden’s ripped people off – Go for it.

If Bobulinki knows nothing – then you need not defame him.

Again Crack head / Navy Seal ? In know where my money is. You put yours where you want.
Bet on the crack head if you want.
The one you are claiming ripped off a bunch of people as a defense ?

“There are zero documents that show Joe Biden knew about any deals.”
I guess phone calls don’t count to you. Regardless, that is not all.

I would further note – you have already been discredited with a 3sec google for Video of Biden saying “I Knew Nothing”.

Regardless, you do not get to play both sides.

Either he was involved or he wasn’t
Eitehr he was aware or he wasn’t
Either he said he was not aware or he did not.

Pick a position, Jumping from one to another as suits at the moment just ruins your credibility.

I do not know the absolute truth about everything – few of us do – Maybe Joe if he remembers.
But I am familiar with the actual facts that have come out already.

You clearly are not, you keep contradicting them.

Apparently in your world “6 degrees” means head up ass.

“It’s not about Hunter’s word against others.”
Correct it is often Hunters word against Joes.

There is far more than enough evidence to investigate.
And the investigation is producing even more evidence.

As I said before – there was ENOUGH to investigate in 2015 when NYT ran the first story.

              “is debunked by legal documents.”
That is literally not possible. It is almost impossible to prove a negative.

And in a different context that is one of the Biden Syndicates biggest problems.

It is much like going after Al Capone.
They were never able to prove he committed many crimes.
But he made an awful lot of money – which he did not pay taxes on – because he did not make it legally.
And he would have had to explain how he made it if he paid taxes.

The Biden family has made an awful lot of money over the years.
And yet there is no evidence they actually did anything for that money.

Is that enough – probably not in DC. but it likely is where I am.

Menedez had a benefit in his trial. He was not hiding anything.
He received valuable gifts from a long time fired. And he then lobbied for him with government agencies.

Senators do advocate for constituents and long time friends do things for each other.
The jury could beleive there was a quid pro quo, or they could not.

Money for nothing is a bigger problem.
A jury can decide that absent proof of what the payment was for there is no quid pro quo.
They can also decide absent a legal reason for the payments the reason must be illegal.

I would note the government successfully uses this tactic with Drug Dealers all the time.
And BTW anyone who gets lots of moeny for no clear purpose.

If the Biden family was not the Bidens – Treasury would have confiscated their bank accounts already,
and demanded they prove payment for a legitimate purpose.

I am not personally happy with that – but I can assure you – for ordinary people,
Receiving lots of money for no legitimate reason means the government confiscates your money.

            2. “[M]anagers of investment funds get paid big fees off the top . . .”

You don’t know what you’re talking about.

At best, you’re conflating “investment” and “hedge.”

At worst, you’re an Apologist for the kleptocratic Biden family.

              Plus, your mask is slipping.

        2. I think you are full of Schiff.
I think your arguments and those you cite are full of schiff.

But if I am wrong – investigation will demonstrate that.

There is far more than sufficient basis for investigation.

There was before the recent SAR dump,
There was before the Hunter Biden Laptop.
There was Before Trump asked Zelensk to look into this – which was after unknown to him the FBI picked up the Hunter Biden Laptop.
There was in 2015 when the NY Times ran the first story on possible Biden influence peddling in Ukraine.

          And 2015 is BEFORE 2017.

You have and continue to conduct myriads of baseless politically weaponized investigation
Biden is behind some of those.

          Turn about is fair play.

Except of course – here there is plenty of basis.

If you want my look into the crystal Ball – these investigations will leave most everyone with a grasp of the Biden family corruption.
But in the end it will fall short of sufficient proof for a criminal prosecution under the McDonald standard.

The closest we have a a quid pro quo is Shokin’s firing.
The evidence there is sufficient to get a jury in my community – blind to the politics to convict.
1/10 of that would get a DC jury to convict – if you just mention the name Trump.

But I doubt that a DC jury could convict Biden if they had Burisma money straight into Joes bank account.

If you actually want an investigation with ZERO evidence – try the collusion delusion – Based on two hoaxes that the FBI knew were hoaxes when they started.

          1. John Say
You need to support accusations with facts, not insinuations. A Trump appointed US attorney has investigated Hunter Biden for over three years and somehow had been unable to file a case. The accusation of the Shokin firing was debunked years ago, before Trump’s impeachment.

Turley couldn’t lay out a factual case that withstands minimal scrutiny if they put a gun to his head. He keeps shifting around the facts to create an impression of cause and effect.

              1. Lots of docs from FOIA requests, Court testimony by Shokin.
If you actually care you can find all of this – Google is your friend.

You do not seem to grasp the amount of Documentation on Biden Fmaily corruption – Particularly in Ukraine that was available BEFORE the Hunter Biden Laptop.

You do know that the US government must provide non-classified documents in response to FOIA requests ?
And that lots of stuff from Hunter Biden, From Ukraine, From the Biden VP’s office went through the US State Department ?

There was a significant amount of traffic while the Burisma nonsense was going on – Because The Obama WH (and the State Department) vwere very concerned that VP Biden was going to create a Scandal in Obama’s “scandal free” presidency, and that Biden was going to derail Obama’s efforts to rebuild a relationship with Russia.

One of the things those on the left keep forgetting as they keep preventing that Putin is Darth Vader is that From Day One of the Obama administration, Obama sought to reach out to Russia. Do you forget his cancelation of the polish ABM deal very early ? Do you forget his Early Nuclear Deal with Russia ? Do you forget the Uranium one Deal ? Do you forget the Open Mike comment to Medyev that he would be better able to accomodate Russia after the election ?

Obama’s Russian accomodation efforts – which were actually good policy, were being undermined by Clinton and Biden throughout his presidency. As well as to a lessor extent the same crowd that was after Trump.

It is Stupid to pretend that the “deep state” is just an anti-Trump force. Their fundimental objective is their own power within govenrment, and that requires Russia to be a Darth Vader like enemy. Accomodation of Russia, as well as a shift in focus of US Foriegn policy to China and Asia disempower those in FBI, CIA, NSA, … that have spent their lives becoming “expert” on Russia.

              2. Do you have ACTUAL evidence that Shokin was Corrupt ?

Was he living high on the Hog ?
Is he actually connected to any oligarchs ?
Did he receive a golden parachute when Biden had him fired ?

If we are talking about “evidence” of corruption – Biden is worth 100M without every having held a job outside of public service.
While Shokin is living on the equivalent of Social security.

and you need help figuring out who is corrupt ?

I would suggest that you consider the possibility that Everyone ranting that Shokin is corrupt is projecting.
That is where you should look for corruption.

            1. Shiokin Debuinked – NOPE.

              You clearly are clueless.

Shokin had a meeting with Hunter and others from Burisma a day or two after he was fired.
That is the prima fascia reason he was fired.

Shokin was a Plodder, Torough, but he was moving on Burisam – there is no actual dispute on that.
There is plenty of evidence of that. In fact assets were already seized.

What has been “debunked” is the claim that anything has been debunked.
Generally the word “debunked” from the left means “la la, I can’t here you”

Shokin has retired on his small govenrment pension.
There is no oligarch proving him with a luxurious Dacha.
He has never been tied to any actual corruption.

All the claims that he was Corrupt originate essentially with Joe Biden’s team in the FBI.
European nations followed the US lead,
As well as the Sorros funded disinformation campaign targeting Shokin.

The most consequential consequence of firing Shokin was Burisma got a sweet heart deal.
Ukraine remained one of the most corrupt countries in the world – bhefore and after Shokin

While Shokin was no dirty harry, but for firing Shokin Ukraine would be less corrupt today than it was.
Maybe not alot less, but the claim that Shokin was corrupt has been “debunked”.

I would further note that the US state department was feverishly emailing the “office of the Vice President”
Throughout all of this – Get Hunter out of these countries or YOU must end your role in them.
The conflict is too great. The Federal ethics law requires the VP to recuse wherever his family is working.

In the event you want the truth.
John Solom acquired this and more from the State department in 2017 I beleive through FOIA requests.
There is hundreds of pages of documents regarding everything going on in Ukraine with Burisma and Hunter Biden and Joe Biden.

Among other things Hunter was HEAVILY lobbying the State Department.
Some of this managed to come out in the impeachment hearings – but democrats conducted way too much of the hearings in a SKIF and then pretended they were classified.

              1. https://www.factcheck.org/2020/10/trump-revives-false-narrative-on-biden-and-ukraine/

                https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/10/03/what-really-happened-when-biden-forced-out-ukraines-top-prosecutor/3785620002/

You seem to be missing the backstory on Shokin. The reason he made up his story about being fired because of Burisma is because he’s being paid by Dimitri Firtash, a Putin proxy who has been fighting US extradition since 2014. After the Orange Revolution. Firtash was made the middleman for all Russian gas shippied thru Ukraine. Firtash is Giuliani’s biggest client.

                1. djfnyc,

You might not be aware, but this web log only permits two hyperlinks per comment. I edited the last link in yours so that it would post. If you would like for the readership to review more than two hyperlinks this can be accomplished by using multiple comments having two or fewer links each.

                2. No one sane trusts MSM fact checks.

Regardless, Shokin is not in anyone’s pocket. He received nothing from any oligarch. He is living modestly on his government pension.

No one has given him 3.5M diamonds.

The Firtash, Parnas, Guiliani story collapsed.

Parnas was a Guiliani Source – not an associate.

As Prosecutors say all the time – sometimes your sources are other bad guys.

There are lots of other factors but none are relevant.

Before the SAR’s was the Hunter Biden Laptop,
Beofe that was Guillini’s information – some of which did come from sordid characters in eastern europe.
If you are looking for the dirt on the Bidens dealing with essentially the eastern european mafia – you go to the eastern european mafia.
Before that was John Solomon and hundreds of documents received through FOIA requests fromt he US govenrment,.
Before that was NY Times reporting in 2015.

All the “debunkings” have been “debunked”.

                  Shokin was not bent.
The hunter Biden laptop is not russian disinformation.

The people you trust – including “fact checkers” have been caught with their pants down.

And some – not all the dirt on the Biden’s comes from disreputable people – because that is where you must go to get the information about those who were making dirty deals with them.

                3. I asked for evidence – not this typical left wing nut whisper down the lane BS.

Evidence is transfers of money to the Biden’s (or Shokin).

It is dirty people on the record saying “I paid Biden” or shokin.

It is not some unspecified source claiming X is associated with Y who knows Z.

Lanny Davis, diGenova and Toensing have rep[resented Firtash.
These are lawyers from the right and the left.

                  Lawyers often represent disreputable clients.
I know that troubles the left.
But it is something the best of them are proud of.

Derschowitz and the ACLU represented Nazi’s.
                  Drerschowitz represented, Epstein, and OJ.
                  Brian Stevens has represented murderers.
F Lee Bailey represented OJ and the Boston Strangler.

Sometimes Lawyers represent disreputable clients – for reasons of principle,
                  and sometimes for money.
They do that when they are on the left or the right.

Guiliani did not represent Firtash, not that it would matter if he did.

                4. Aparently whoever has been representing Firtash has done a good job – as Firtash has not been extradited.

              2. John, it is becoming more apparent that the deep state is pushing the National Archives to conceal documents. We have known that for a long time, but now we are fine-tuning into the National Archives suppressing documents concerned with Biden’s business dealings that should be open to the public.

ATS is not clueless. He is the type that perverts the truth. He is a trickster and a liar.

                1. There are many many many actores within government with an agenda – that is nothing new.

All that is Slightly new is that a sufficient portion of those independent agendas share sufficient common objectives to act in concert.
Maybe not as a formal conspiracy – but still to the same ends.

Most – though not all in Governemnt that were out to “get Trump” – are NOT progressives. They were NOT fighting for Trans rights, or to open the border.

They do not give a damn about MOST of the political issues that divide us. Or even if they do that are not part of some conspiracy to advance those ideas.

Do not get me wrong – there are people in government who are EXACTLY what I am saying the “Get Trump” movement is not, and some in the get trump movement Are that kind of people.

But the BIG common ground is protection of their personal and collective Power. One large faction – though not all, is the successors to the “cold warriors”.
These are those in government whose Lives have been about Russia in one way or another – in the military their training was the future possible war with Russia.
In the state department they are those involved in containing russia. In the NSA, CIA, … they are those involved in spying on Russia.

There is a srperate but overlapping power group concocted to deal with mideast terrorism – these were never a threat to the Russia block.

Trump was reorienting US policy to one of containment of China – that is something that has always been inevitable.
But Trump was ahead of the curve and a threat to the power of those on the russia the other eastern, western european desks throughout government – these people are all a huge clique.

Not only is Russia rapidly becoming irrelevant – but europe as a whole – with the possible exception of the UK is becoming irrelevant as for as US foreign policy is concerned.

There was a huge fight involving Trump over the relevance of NATO. What should be self evident is that this War is the last hurrah for NATO as we know it.

Sweden and Finland will enter NATO. It is self evident from the ware – that Any two NATO countries are more than capable of defending against Russia.

The only purposes the US serves in NATO are:
                  Detering Russia from using Nukes,
Serving as Franklin’s Armory of Democracy – We will supply the bullets.
And finally to backstop Europes bad energy policies.

That is it. And all but the first – Europe will soon be able to do for itself.

But the consequence of this is massive numbers of Government bureacrats who are suddenly out of power – unimportant.

It should be obvious to most everyone right now – Not only is russia a failing super power – a paper tiger,
But europe itself though capable of handling Russia is NOT consequentially part of the future – Europe is in slow decline.

I can go on and address other shifts in global power. But the european shift is core to a significant portion of the alphabet agencies in government being aligned with traditional democratic power – the Schumers and peolosis; – who despite appearances and actiosn are also NOT actually part of the “woke”.
They are just power surfers riding the waves and striving to remain at the top of the hill.

Virtually everything Trump accomplished as President was inevitable. Just not inevitable at that moment.
And that is the core to the deep state fight with Trump.

I would further note that though this is lots of people with lots of power – it is not everybody. It is probably not most of govenrment,
It may not even be the most powerful part of government. But it is the part that was threatened by Trump and the part that was acting on that threat.

We have also seen an increasing number of whistle blowers.
Proof that government is not a mono-culture.
I suspect many of the whistle blowers did not vote for Trump.
They are motivated by respect for their institutions and their idea of the rule of law.
That is probably not even close to mine.
But it is also not close to what they are seeing around them.

Regardless the coalition that is fighting Trump and fighting the Trump movement more broadly – is not homogeneous.
Much of what we see being accomplished that is bad, is the wishes of a small portion of that coalition.

Regardless over time these people are guaranteed to start after each other or act even more stupidly than they have.

The greatest danger is not that they will prevail – but what follows their failure.
Chaos and anarchy often birth tyranny – as in the Wiemar republic.
Or the french revolution or Mao or Stalin.

It does nto matter much whether that is tyranny from the right or the left.

                  1. ” though not all in Governemnt that were out to “get Trump”

True. Trump was and remains an outsider threatening the insiders, so those out to get Trump included significant numbers of Republicans. However, today there is a very significant unified force trying to change America so that the government is by the government not by the people who are supposed to be slaves to the elite.

Just so it is clear, today, the biggest threat comes from the left.

                    1. Nothing I disagree with.
But the left – which is NOT actually that large is only a threat Because various other groups give them power.

Schumer is not actually a progressive. Nor is Pelosi, Nor are most of the deep state, nor is Biden.

                      The
WH is overrun by progressives, and they are in many positions of power in this government – though most of the real power is not with the biden transients.
But with the deep state lifers – and they may be democrats but they are not progressives.

At some point the multiple groups within the democratic party will inevitably turn on each other.
If they do not slowly lose power as they leak defectors like Sienama or Gabbard.

                    2. “Schumer is not actually a progressive. Nor is Pelosi, Nor are most of the deep state, nor is Biden.”

We can dabble over the use of terms, but that will not get us anywhere. There is a small core from which a much larger group extends outward. You can include those names in that group since they vote in an almost unified manner. Other groups have similar interests. However, none of that matters if one divides things based on their affinity to the Constitution and its protection.

Saying one agrees with the Constitution and individual rights is meaningless. ATS does that all the tie as do many Democrats and a considerable number of Republicans. They are opportunists.

                    3. I am not looking for conflict. I am just pointing out that while the progressive ideology his significant damaging influence, that its sincere adherents are significantly less, and that our problems stem from their disparate power in a much bigger coalition that is connected by very distinct self interests.

Absolutely with very little dissent Democratic politicians act as a block – as do republicans. That is an unintentional defect of our system that apeared shortly after our formation and has been with us since. Then unanimity is about power. Not ideology. Pelosi would advocate for concentration camps and genocide – if that would enhance her power. And there are republicans that are no different.

Regardless we are in the midst of a massive nationwide political re-alignment, that has been ongoing since Obama.

To gain power progressives have built a coalition that includes much of the press, Big Tech, Big Business, a significant portion of the uber wealthy, as well as “the deep state” which is not monolithic, but does share the one attribute of protecting their power, and unions.

This is not a stable coalition.

Unions are fading due to corruption and failure to actually deliver on the value they take from unionized workers. Regardless the working class is slowly but inexorably moving right. Democrats can not hold unions or union workers significantly longer. Their policies are just too at odds. One of the larger unionized work groups in this country is law enforcement and the left is not merely openly hostile, they are bitter enemies.

The only purpose of big business is to create wealth for owners. Those working with the left are under the delusion they are somehow protected.
That is absolute nonsense – there is no left wing revolution that has not turned on business and the wealthy. We are already seeing cracks – because while the adage “Go Woke Go Broke” is false, there is enough truth in it that big nusinesses must be careful how far they go or they profit less or lose money.

Even if corporate management was entirely enthralled by the left. If a business does not profit – investors leave.
There is an optimal risk/return curve deviations from that curve trigger the movement of capital. Provide a higher return for the same risk – and capital flows to your business. Provide a lower return for a given risk – it flows away. This is a part of why so much regulation is so harmful.

McD’s can only increase prices a small amount before their business model no longer works. If they can not deliver sufficient ROI – capital goes elsewhere.
If they can not deliver sufficient value to customers – they go elsewhere. The entire economy despite its chaotic nature is incredibly fine tuned – and that tuning is dynamic.

Right now capital flows are a significant part of what is pulling down the banking system. As interest rates rise – capital will move to higher retun at the same of lower risk.

We caused inflation – the pretense that we could get rid of it relatively painlessly is stupidity.

Regardless my point is that the left can not change those fundamentals. They might as an example be able to slow or even stop the flow of capital – but all that will mean is an ever weaker economy – slower rise in standard of living. possibly even a fall.

I noted the risk/return curve. The economy is most efficient when most investment is clustered close to the curve. the larger the deviation the lower the overall efficiency of the economy the slower the rise in standard of living.

                    4. ” sincere adherents are significantly less, and that our problems stem from their disparate power”

John, you are looking at things from the political end, that we vote for what we live under.

                      Is that true?

No. That is why the small group of radical leftists control so much of this nation. It is not just the politicians. It is the state itself, and its bureaucracy that provides the radical left with so much power.

The left has implanted itself into crucial areas of the bureaucracy and moved from there to create policy never voted on by the American Public. (look at education, gender, speech, etc.) The power grows because, in the government, hundreds of thousands of people who know and care little about these ideas garner employment to expand them and push them onto the public. Their jobs are at stake, so they are all united in protecting their turf.

That is one part of what I meant by expanding outward. The representative democracy part of our Republic has largely disappeared.

” Absolutely with very little dissent Democratic politicians act as a block – as do republicans.”

As I inferred earlier, this massive block is not just political. It is within all facets of our country, including the private sector. It is even within libertarian groups.

“This is not a stable coalition.”

Where one’s bread is buttered, is one of the most stabilizing coalitions known to man.

                      “Unions are fading”

Maybe, maybe not. That is not so important. The “bad is oft interred with the bones.” The bones were already laid into the bureaucracy, so don’t expect the (union) bad to simply disappear.

“Regardless the working class is slowly but inexorably moving right.”

…And the right is continuing to be absorbed by the left.

None of what I say means the left wins. They don’t. No one wins.

                    5. I do not think we are at odds mostly. You are discussing possible remedies. That was only partly what I was discussing.
You are discussing possible causes – this is partly related to remedies – mostly I was not.
Further there are multiple causes and multiple means of overcoming the problems.

We are both agreed that only government power makes this sustainable

    4. Wow. You know what’s funny–you give these guys your loyalty, your vote and your self-respect–for what, so you can pen stuff like this so you feel like the non-toilet trained kid who is beside himself with pride over the mess he made? They get rich while you cheer them on. Go team! People like you enable this.

Let me catch you up on current events: (1) treasury records show $$ going to various family members for no apparent work, (2) Biden said he never discussed Hunter’s business affairs–you really think they said nothing on the AF2 flight?, (3) Bobulinski is a witness, (4) why would Hunter get all that $$? and remember, fresh out of law school, Hunter got a job at MBNA, and Slow Joe hawked BK reform on MBNA’s behalf, (5) Joe out and out lied in the debate with Trump about the laptop.

As Joe “Look, Fat” Biden would say, “Come on.”

    5. let’s play a game: let’s replace “Biden” with “Trump” and “Hunter” with “Don Jr.” would you still be so blase about this, or would you be screaming LOCK HIM UP! I think we can guess.

    6. Here’s a fun thought experiment for you: Just switch the names of this little drama from Joe and Hunter Biden to Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. Bet you’d swear to the heavens there was a whole lot of corruption and skullduggery hiding in plain sight. Don’t you have the slightest bit of curiosity of about what exactly Hunter Biden has been “selling” to the Chinese, Ukranians and Russians? He knows absolutely nothing about the energy business but certainly does know how to party like it’s 1999.

  4. But what will happen? Joe Biden bragged about a quid pro quo with Ukraine, in which he threatened to withhold all US aid until and unless the prosecutor, who just so happened to be investigating Burisma where his totally unqualified son made millions, was fired. Trump was impeached for inquiring about it. Joe Biden stands accused of selling access to the government to foreign nationals, including the CCP, while he was VP. If he were Trump, he would have been impeached already and there would be riots.

Nothing ever happens to the well-connected Democrat.

  5. At 1:52 Gigi tells us one again that the Hunter laptop is just information has not been verified. So now Gigi is saying that that great lover of Donald Trump known as CBS is lying and is just part of her made up conspiracy theory. https://www.cbsnews.com/video/copy-of-hunter-biden-laptop-data-appears-genuine-independent-experts-find/. In the old days we knew what to call a person who had become separated from reality. Gigi, today we have medicines that will help. I hear they are effective against chronic TDS. Soon it will be listed as a common malady by the Mayo Clinic.

    1. “THE BIG LIE” FROM THE BIG LIAR!
      ______________________________

“Who ya gonna believe, me or your own eyes?”

      – Chico Marx
      __________

NUTCHACHACHA is a false, illegitimate and “fake” product of the affirmative action, quotas and public assistance of the communist welfare state.

Freedom is an existential threat to NUTCHACHACHA.

    2. There are ways to validate evidence, and the opinion of “experts” is not conclusive. This is not direct proof, yet you accept it as as irrefuable proof. You speak of separation from reality–what is the source of your reality about your fat hero and the endless lies he told and continues to tell, the way he cheated to get into office, how he trashed our public health, our economy, our relations with allies, and started an insurrection when those of us with TDS (meaning most Americans who are disgusted by Trump) voted him out of office? What drugs cause you fail to see these truths? So, the loser “hosts” at Fox came up with TDS as a shorthand way to reassure the deplorables that the criticisms of Trump must be based on some mental derangement. Trump is a disgrace to America–not just as a citizen, but as someone aspiring to be the leader of the free world. And, it’s not just because he’s lazy and stupid, or even that he is a lously businessman and even lousier leader who doesn’t even understand the basics of American government, much less have any skill at leading, which are sufficient reasons alone to reject him–it’s the fact that his massive ego requires him to constantly be the center of attention. He just can’t shut up, go away, and let the leader the majority of Americans chose do the job of president in peace and without his constant interjection into the news every single day. When he lies, like he did about being arrested last Tuesday, from which he pocketed $1.5 million in donations, people like you just shrug it off instead of seeing him for the lying grifter he really is. When you see how he got his fans to invade our Capitol, excrete their bodily wastes all over it, break into offices, rifle papers, steal items, break down doors and windows, and seek the VP to lynch him, all try to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, you believe the Fox-peddled lie that this was just a “few” people whose “protest” got out of hand–as if Trump had nothing to do with it. And, you call ME “deranged”?

  6. Wait a minute. Colonel Klink asks, “What is going on here?”. It’s called wasting your time.

    1. I really think it’s sad that so many people don’t understand the Sgt. Schultz character, so I’ll explain it to you: according to the initial story line, Schultz had been a toymaker who was drafted by the Nazis. He was too old and too overweight to go to the front lines, and he wasn’t in sympathy with the Nazi ideology, but didn’t want to end up in a concentration camp for rebelling, so he more or less befriended the allies in the camp and intentionally “saw nothing” and “knew nothing”. He wasn’t stupid–he deliberately chose not to be complicit–a sort of passive-aggressive resistance. As another aside, John Banner was a German Jew, as was Werner Klemperer, who played Col. Klink.

  7. I knew that the leftist on this blog would bring up the Georgia case accusing Trump of trying to overturn the election in Georgia so I did a little research. The Washington Post issued a correction to their story. Here it is. Correction: Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator. The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to ‘find the fraud’ or say she would be ‘a national hero’ if she did so. Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find ‘dishonesty’ there. He also told her that she had ‘the most important job in the country right now.’ A story about the recording can be found here. The headline and text of this story have been corrected to remove quotes misattributed to Trump. Like other comments by Svelaz and Dennis McIntyre it’s just one more that goes up in smoke with whatever they’re smoking.

    1. This was a call with many participants, including counsel for Trump and for Georgia. The main purpose of the call was to work out a way for Trump’s legal team to get access to voter information exclusively in the hands of Georgia. Trump was credibly alleging, among other things, that many thousands of votes were cast unlawfully in precincts in which the voters were no longer resident. Trump said on the call that since the margin was slightly over 10k votes, if Georgia could find that that many votes were cast unlawfully the election would be invalid under Georgia law. Trump never suggested or implied that Georgia should fabricate the unlawful votes; he believed they were there to be found if only Georgia would look carefully.

Based on reporting by Margot Cleveland it is likely that Trump was right.

      1. Svelaz. Because you have shown a desire to be informed I am providing the link you have requested. You are somehow saying that I could have just made up the correction of The Washington Post. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-call-georgia-investigator/2021/01/09/7a55c7fa-51cf-11eb-83e3-322644d82356_story.html. You could have done the research for yourself but you are too psychologically invested to want to hear anything contrary to your freely accepted propaganda from your instructors at CNN and MSNBC. Like the old country guy sittin on the porch in a rocking chair would say, “Chew on that for awhile.”

    2. “I just need you to find 11,780 votes WHICH IS ONE MORE THAN WE HAVE”. Res ipsa loquitur.

  8. Jonathan: Raising the Biden family “corruption scandal” at this point is a big distraction. Nothing in your column is new–just a repetition of your stale claims from previous columns. How many times are you going to repeat the “Hey, pal, it’s Dad” message that is no proof of anything? So permit me to move on to Jack Smith’s investigation that now has become supercharged.

As we all recall last Friday Judge Howell ruled Evan Corcoran, Trump’s attorney, must testify before Smith’s grand jury about Trump’s crimes in refusing to turn over all the top secret and other classified material he refused to turn over to the DOJ. Yesterday a 3 judge panel upheld Howell’s ruling and rejected Trump’s appeal. Trump has two options. He can request an en banc hearing before the full DC Court of Appeals. Trump probably won’t do that because he knows his appeal will be rejected. The other option is for Trump to ask for an emergency hearing by the SC. That will go to Chief Justice Roberts. He can reject the request or kick it up to the full Court. Based on prior Court rulings it is doubtful the full Court will support Trump’s claims. Back in December the Court ruled Trump could not refuse to turn over WH docs to the Jan. 6 Committee based on “executive privilege”. This case is different because Trump is asserting the “attorney-client privilege”. But there are no large constitutional issues in the case. The “crime-fraud” exception to the privilege is well established and Judge Howell and the 3 judge panel of the Court of Appeals have ruled there is sufficient evidence to justify piercing the privilege.

I am not a betting man but I suspect Trump will lose his appeal and Evan Corcoran will be forced to testify before the grand jury. He will be forced to turn over all his notes, audio recordings and other docs relating to his interactions with his client re Trumps refusal to turn over all the top secret and other classified material to the DOJ. The evidence will show Trump deceived and lied to Corcoran. This means Jack Smith will have a smoking gun to charge Trump with both obstruction and lying to the government.

This is a blockbuster development in Smith’s investigation of Trump’s crimes at Mar-a-Lago. And it shows how Trump often uses his attorneys (Michael Cohen and Evan Corcoran) in furtherance of his crimes Trump is in a world of legal trouble. Funny, you don’t want to discuss this latest development in the Smith criminal investigation. Like a magician you use slight of hand to get us to focus on the alleged Biden family scandal. How long do you think that slight of hand is going to work?
    .

    1. Dennis, it will be impossible to ignore Trump’s legal problems once an indictment is announced followed by the Georgia investigation and possibly Smith’s investigation. Then there will be the Fox News dominion trial next month. Will Turley comment on the highly anticipated trial or will his “bosses” at Fox News prohibit him from saying anything?

Furthermore, we have Jim Jordan trying to interfere with DA Bragg’s investigation by demanding he testify before his committee and divulge his reasoning for prosecuting Trump. An act of interference that is quite frankly the very thing his own committee is supposed to be investigating. Oh the irony.

      1. Rule of Law is in the way again, eh?
Leave Boast&Bragg alone to do his job!

      2. Did anyone notice how many times Turley uses hedge-words like “alleged”, “seems”, etc, in retreading the same old “Hunter Biden Scandal” BS. Have the alleged audio tapes and email been verified? And, Biden wasn’t president in 2015, either. More tripe Turley is paid to promote as a distraction away from Trump lying about getting arrested on Tuesday, from which he pocketed a cool $1.5 million in donations from the gullibles. Turley says: “Influence peddling has long been the favored form of corruption in Washington. While many Democrats repeatedly stress that influence peddling is not criminal, it is corrupt and the Bidens appear to be a class in themselves.” So, Turley wants to talk about “corrupt” politicians, but somehow leaves out Trump and George Santos, proven liars, who cheated their way into office and whose conduct DOES harm Americans and IS illegal?

        1. Rumor is that Boast&Bragg is a leftist nut who wants to put Trump in handcuffs himself.

        2. Have the alleged audio tapes and email been verified?

Just as good. The principles in the audio and emails have not denied any of the content is anything but real and accurate.

        3. GiGi, Turley always hedges his claims so that he can’t be accused of being wrong or dishonest. I don’t blame him for doing that. It’s the lawyer in him. Like Fox News, Turley relies on the carefully groomed readership he’s created to keep the ‘popularity’ of his blog relevant. It’s similar with the obsession of how many followers a YouTube or tik tok channel has.

“GiGi, Turley always hedges his claims so that he can’t be accused of being wrong or dishonest. I don’t blame him for doing that.”
You have only adopted this approach after someone pointed out to you that Turley was being prudent in his wording.

      3. will be impossible to ignore Trump’s legal problems once an indictment is announced

Indictments are meaningless. As all the Russians Mueller indicted.

You say the FBI making suggestions to twitter, is not a crime. Although you refuse to cite the controlling jurisdiction to make the recommendation.

All the President suggested, was for Georgia election officials searched for ballots that did not meet the requirements to be counted, per the statute. Suggesting that the law be followed is not a crime

        1. “You say the FBI making suggestions to twitter, is not a crime. Although you refuse to cite the controlling jurisdiction to make the recommendation.”

I’m not refusing. I have posted the ‘controlling jurisdiction’ to make the recommendations before. You can find out for yourself, google is your friend.

          1. I have posted the ‘controlling jurisdiction’ to make the recommendations before.

Another lie. You cant post something that is impossible.

    2. “alleged Biden family scandal”? This family has taken millions from the Chinese government (indirectly) and from an Ukrainian energy company for doing nothing. What does it take for you to see corruption? As for Trump’s classified document problems, they pale in comparison with the bald-faced, defiant destruction of emails and computer equipment by Hillary Clinton.

    3. Do tell, what other corporate media is giving air time to James Comer’s *actual evidence* demonstrating the entire Biden clan was taking payoffs from the Chinese Communist Party?
The MSM is giving air time *only to Biden’s denials* while simply dismissing the evidence and accusations as right wing MAGA lies.

    4. Newsflash: As everyone fixates on possible Trump indictment, a massive scandal is rocking the Proud Boys seditious conspiracy trial.
For 2nd time this month, Judge Kelly has suspended the jury trial amid evidence of FBI misconduct.

      1. BREAKING NEWS (from Julie Kelly):
Just when you think DOJ can’t get any dirtier–
New motion just filed by defense in Proud Boys trial accusing DOJ of using an FBI informant to spy on and infiltrate the defense team.

Confirmed: @USAO-DC response (led by Matthew M. Graves), to defense motion seeking production of all records related to an FBI informant who infiltrated and surveilled defense team (and possibly family members) will not be made public.

        (Anyone surprised?)

        1. Yep, get the ‘secret courts’ to keep government corruption ‘under seal’ ….that’s the ticket.

    5. . Nothing in your column is new–just a repetition of your stale claims from previous columns.

It is new validation of behavior that might be criminal. That is how you build a case to bring criminal charges. One piece at a time.

    6. Dennis McIntyre, here’s another one that you can cry a little tear in your beer over. Trump tax returns are a nothing burger at CNN. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/30/opinions/trump-tax-returns-mccaffery/index.html. A little tiny tear let Dennis down. Spoiled his act as a clown. He had it made up not to make a frown but a little tiny tear let him down. By the way, Professor Turley has written many Times about the classified documents at Mar-A-Largo. You know this to be true but you still request that he should only write about what you think he should write about when you think he should write about it. I understand. Obsession is your only friend.

    7. “I am not a betting man but I suspect Trump will lose his appeal and Evan Corcoran will be forced to testify before the grand jury”
Are you pretending to be a smart, intelligent, clairvoyant, since has already been publicly announced LONG before you pretend to predict this?

  9. Dear Prof Turley,

This has all the classic hallmarks of Russian disinformation tied to Chinese technology. .. and the only thing you need to know is Biden didn’t even get up this morning.

*Putin & Xi are probably hammering out the details in Moscow as we speak.

  10. My reply to the Democrats (and media) asserting “It’s not illegal”, would be to ask them then on what grounds has Biden (and Hunter himself) been denying it all these years? Any grifter can keep it within the bounds of law, but doesn’t mean the grifter is a person worthy of respect or a high position in our United States government. I think Joe Biden understands that. Now it’s time for him, and the media, to admit that “Your president is not a crook. But he’s a grifter”. You get the reference I’m sure.

    1. I also have a question. If influence peddling is not illegal, why not? The U.S. government is supposedly of, by, and for the American people. How can it be legal to give foreign interests “influence” in the hallowed halls? They may not be physically putting their feet up on Nancy Pelosi’s desk, but doesn’t it amount to the same or worse?

      1. “If influence peddling is not illegal, why not?”

Because influence peddling according to the conservative block of the Supreme Court falls under the umbrella of the 1st amendment. Selling influence or peddling influence can involve making contributions which according to the Citizens United decision is considered free speech. Influence peddling or more accurately bribing is to be very narrowly defined because a bribe can fall under the umbrella of free speech.

        1. The last time you made argument you cited United States v. McDonnell, et al, which doesn’t deal with bribery. The trilogy of cases that McDonnell is a part of, deal only with campaign contributions used to gain influence with politicians. The Court in McDonnell found that making contributions to campaigns were protected by the 1st Amendment.

But, under 18 U.S.C. § 201, a politician or former politician receiving, accepting, or agrees to receive or accept anything of value personally for or because of any official act performed or to be performed by such official or person shall be fined or imprisoned for not more than two years, or both.

          18 U.S.C. § 201…

          (c)Whoever…

(1)otherwise than as provided by law for the proper discharge of official duty…

(B)being a public official, former public official, or person selected to be a public official, otherwise than as provided by law for the proper discharge of official duty, directly or indirectly demands, seeks, receives, accepts, or agrees to receive or accept anything of value personally for or because of any official act performed or to be performed by such official or person;…

(3)directly or indirectly, demands, seeks, receives, accepts, or agrees to receive or accept anything of value personally for or because of the testimony under oath or affirmation given or to be given by such person as a witness upon any such trial, hearing, or other proceeding, or for or because of such person’s absence therefrom; shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than two years, or both.

In Dixson v. United States, 465 U.S. 482 (1984), the Supreme Court concluded that “[t]he term public official is not limited to persons in a formal employment or agency relationship with the Government.” 465 U.S. at 494. The Court identified the appropriate inquiry as “whether the person occupies a position of public trust with official federal responsibilities.”

Hunter is the conduit through which the payments were made to influence the “Big Guy.” It’s called “money laundering” to conceal the bribery taking place, because it appears there is no connection between the “Big Guy” and the payments, when in fact there is when you look beyond the facade, which you never do.

The only reason we know this is the records that were just released. The payments came from a Chinese company, all of which are partially owned by the CCP. These payments were not campaign contributions because foreign nations and citizens of foreign nations are prohibited from making such contributions.

  11. Svelaz and one particular “Anonymous”, we all know which one I mean, are sitting in the forest in 1946, hiding out from American soldiers that have long since returned home, eating bamboo and grass, washing their dirty Japanese army uniforms in lakes and streams and waiting for a blessing from the Emperor.

Imagine if you will selling out any credibility you have trying to defend Joe Corrupt Biden?!?!? These two morons are lawyer wannabees who think they are clever because they will counter any argument the other side presents. Unfortunately for these two nitwits, they aren’t attorneys, they aren’t clever, they aren’t in Court, they aren’t paid (although I do think that Svelaz may be paid) and they have no legal education.

It is one thing to be a bit contrarian, but to make such specious arguments in a public forum is just embarrassing. Or it should be.

    1. Hullbobby, hilarious as always. What exactly is the corruption that you say Biden is guilty of? Nobody has been able to articulate exactly what this corruption is. What is it? Seriously.

Claims of “influence peddling schemes” without any evidence to back them up and simply “making millions” and family members sharing means what? None of those things are illegal or criminal. The Trumps do it all the time and they are legally allowed to just like the Biden’s. So what exactly are the “crimes” that supposedly make Biden corrupt? You should be able articulate it.

  12. Makes you wonder what happened to the classified documents stored by the Bidens How many have been shared and how many even disappeared..???

  13. I’m surprised Professor Turley. This is an insult to the memory of the esteemed Sgt. Schultz.

  14. How about we have a poll or a pool bet about which main stream media person will finally realize that he or she cannot continue lying for this corrupt loser. There has to be a point where someone will realize that they are selling themself out when the corruption is all in plain view.

Then again the left has a stranglehold on all of their adherents and maybe not one “journalist” will ever emerge to report on this sickening display of a crime family operating out of the WH.

  15. Well if they ever bring Joe Biden to trial, they already have the perfect defense. He is demented and is unable to understand the charges much less help in his defense. I can almost read the wording now. Likely they will bring forth the mental status exams that were never published from his physicals. He does not answer questions because he can’t understand the questions or the answers. If you really want to know what he is doing or where he is going, just follow the drops of ice cream. You don’t even need to attach an Apple AirTag to him

    1. GEB,
Here is a really twisted thought: Take your defense and add that is how the rest of the family is going to play it. Joe is the fallguy for the rest of the family and not even going to be aware of it.

  16. Miranda Devine has a story in today’s NYP that Hunter Biden had a paid source inside or closely connected to the FBI who was providing information about investigations into Chinese connected with CEFC.

  17. It might be interesting for someone to ask Barack Obama when he first was aware of the Biden family corrupt foreign dealings making his vice president a foreign agent placed in the Obama White House – was it before the 2016 and 2020 elections and he did not speak out or was he clueless until now?

    1. It would be interesting for someone, anyone, to ask Obama if it really was ‘official policy’ for VP Biden to give Ukraine president ‘6 hours’ to fire his chief prosecutor, Viktor Shokin . .. who was investigating Burisma.

*also, was it official U.S. policy to support the violent coup in 2014?

  18. So what? Influence peddling is not illegal. Biden has a wayward son. Do you want to make it illegal to bail your kids out of jams when what they did wasn’t even illegal??? Three of Trump’s children actually did illegal things and you didn’t even care. Come on.

      1. Iowan2, no. SAR are not evidence of crimes. All it is are reports of suspicious activity. That is not evidence of a crime. Suspicion is not evidence. You said ‘crimes’, but can’t say exactly what they are, can you?

          1. The SARS were issued because of suspicious account activity, and then were buried because they involved Hunter and the Biden Family. That’s why the government agency stonewalled turning them over to the House.

    1. Anonymous: I think influence peddling by the President (i.e., he gets money for favors) is likely illegal, and certainly corrupt and would disqualify any officeholder found to have done that. If Trump’s kids did illegal things, they should certainly be prosecuted, as should Hunter and Joe if they have done illegal things, and Joe if he has “gone off the rails” and done favors for China, Ukraine, or other foreign interests. That Trump’s family did or did not do these things is not a reason to let a current president skate, but I think you know that. Prosecute them all if it makes you happier, but don’t overlook what’s going on right now, in current decisions and actions (or the lack thereof) regarding China and Ukraine. These issues and these two countries are critical to our national safety right now. I cannot imagine being OK with this but still harping about Trump’s kids when he’s been long out of office.

      1. Illegal under 18 U.S.C. § 201…

    2. @Anon,
      Actually it is.

Taking a bribe, or soliciting a bribe?
Conversely bribing a foreign government is also illegal.
      (But that’s a different thing)

    3. Anonymous:

Joe Biden is not under scrutiny for supporting his drug addicted, self-destructive son Hunter. He is under scrutiny for selling favors to foreign entities, such as the CCP.

Democrats howled that foreigners paying the going rate to stay in a Trump hotel, owned by a corporation from which Donald Trump had divested all control, was a violation of the Emoluments Clause. They claimed that Ivanka Trump wearing a gold bangle from her own jewelry collection, and a dress she designed, was an ethics violation, though legal. She shut down her jewelry line upon taking on a government role. However, Hunter Biden having access to top secret information, and the laptop scandal which appears to show the international sale of Joe Biden political favors, is shrugged off as no problem. Joe Biden’s quid pro quo with Ukraine was not a problem. Joe Biden lying repeatedly about his claims of getting arrested with Nelson Mandela, attending black churches, graduating in the top half of his law school class, protesting for civil rights in the 60’s, his plagiarism, his writing a letter that he didn’t want his boys to attend a desegregated “racial jungle” school…all no problem.

The law should be applied equally. It emphatically is not. Trump showed the FBI where the documents he declassified and retained were kept. They advised him on properly securing the area. He was going through the legal process of disputing what belonged in the NA, when the FBI did an armed raid on Mar a Lago. Meanwhile, Joe Biden kept boxes of classified information in his garage next to his Corvette, coincidentally the same classified documents as the topics being discussed were stored at the Penn Biden Center, and his drug addicted son Hunter lifted talking points seemingly verbatim from classified documents in his discussions with Burmisma and other entities, in language that markedly deviated from his regular correspondence. Yet, there have been no armed raids. No impeachments.

There is a two tiered justice system, based on politics.
