National Police Association and Other Groups Sue to Obtain Audrey Hale Manifesto

Nashville Police Department

In March, Audrey Hale shocked the nation by opening fire at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. The police soon acknowledged that they had a manifesto from Hale on why she took this inexplicable and horrific action. We all then waited for the release of the manifesto. We are still waiting.

It is not uncommon for there to be a delay in the release of information in a major crime pending investigation. What was weird is that the police quickly confirmed that Hale acted alone and Hale was dead. There is no prosecution that will occur in the case. Yet, it is May and the authorities are still refusing to release the manifesto . . . and they will not fully explain why. Now, the National Police Association and other groups are suing to make the writings and other materials of mass shooter Audrey Hale public.

There were twenty journals, five laptops, a suicide note, yearbooks, cellphones and various notes written by Hale, 28, that were seized from the house she shared with her parents. There have been press reports that the authorities consider the manifesto to be “astronomically dangerous.”

They may be unsettling and even dangerous, but the question is the right of the authorities to keep such evidence from the public and the press. The government can always declare information to be too “dangerous” to release for a variety of reasons. However, we have a system that defaults to disclosures and public access.

The Tennessee Public Records Act governs records created by any governmental entity of Tennessee, including the police department. The law covers all records “regardless of physical form or characteristic, made or received pursuant to law or ordinance or in connection with the transaction of official business by any governmental entity.” Note the verb “received.” That would include this evidence. Furthermore, “made” would include emails addressing why authorities decided to withhold the documents.

If these are public records they must “be open for personal inspection by any citizen of this state,” and custodians cannot refuse access “unless otherwise provided by state law.”

There is an exception under Rule 16(a)(2) of the Tennessee Rules of Criminal Procedure for ongoing investigations or prosecutions, but this case is clearly not active in the sense of any additional charges. Hale is dead. The law does not contemplate that the government can simply declare that a case is forever pending as a way to avoid disclosures.

I do not know what is in the manifesto or why it is so unnerving for authorities. However, what is clearly “dangerous” is for officials to flout the law and withhold information from the press and the public.

  1. Whether it’s crime, education, or some other issue, I think it’s only fair in many States that Republicans and conservatives take some responsibility for what’s going on instead of blaming the whole problem on Democrats and leftists that many do here For example, don’t Republicans share some blame about what’s going on in Tennessee when they control or occupy the following: Governor, General Assembly (huge margin) Senate (huge margin), 2 Senators, and 8/9 of the Congressional delegation.

    1. Previous legislature and governor have already acted in passing the Tennessee Public Records Act. It’s now up to the governor, mayor and city council to enforce the law. If there’s a conflict it may have to go to the court to decide, unless the Governor decides to send state law enforcement to arrest people and seize city evidence. The seizure though may still require a court order.

    1. 1) Just 31 US Counties Responsible for 42 Percent of US Murders, Study Finds

Of the more than 3,000 counties in the U.S., a group of 31 counties accounted for more than two-fifths of the share of all murders in the entire country in 2020, according to recent research… the top two percent of counties — 62 counties containing 31 percent of the U.S. population — represented 56 percent of U.S. murders in 2020.

The study further found that 52 percent of U.S. counties, a share representing about 10 percent of the total U.S. population, had no murder cases at all in 2020.

A group of about 68 percent of U.S. counties that account for about 18 percent of the U.S. population had one or fewer murders in 2020. This block of counties represented about 2.6 percent of all murders in the U.S.

Even in the counties with the highest number of murders, murder rates are highly concentrated to a few zip codes.

Looking specifically at Los Angeles County in California, the bottom 30 percent of the zip codes in the county had no murders, and the bottom half of the zip codes were responsible for five percent of the murders. In that same city, the top 10 percent of zip codes accounted for 41 percent of the murders while the next highest 10 percent of zip codes accounted for another 26 percent of murders.

      2) 27 of the 30 cities with the highest murder rates are controlled by Democrats.

      3) FBI crime report figures show that Alaska, Arizona, and Wyoming–three states that abolished their concealed requirement years ago–have since witnessed a decreased in handgun murders.

    2. In Chicago, May 14: At Least 14 Shot Friday into Saturday Night in Mayor Lightfoot’s Chicago

    1. Were they looking for ..donaters? So they get there by lying too people? On who’s front? If they were lying to ppl to raise no ey..then on whose a.c. Count? We’re they raising money? I have land where these perverts have buried bodies!!! And I’ll make certain the sheriff has all that! Sure I call the sheriff missed me being infringed. Sure the sheriff says could be any one. But we both know 400 yards down the field in the shallow grave it was not me who buried in the beer can! There is a body buried there. That the sheriff needs to uncovr we…ain’t responsible for it just noticed it. It’s there! My mom who said it’s on you said it…the lady first reported said it! I want to live on my land….but you bury people there by not investigating! So now I gotta take my land dead bodies at al….because you won’t investigate? This is causing me enough hardship to sue you over!

    2. She was always vulnerable, dissonant, even, but stable until something triggered her abortive occupation. Abortion is not a normal choice made by individuals with a viable mental state.

    3. Audrey hale didn’t write the manifesto. She was just following it’s orders.

  2. The only threat to boys and girls passing through puberty (and younger), particularly girls who undergo significant physiological development, is posed by trans/homosexual groomers, celebrity neighbors, and Levine’s dreams of Herr Mengele contrary to the science long established at John Hopkins that demonstrated so-called “gender-affirming care” has an unpredictable, progressive effect for the majority of subjects, and, of course, a confused woman provoked by trans visibility who commits mass abortion of six people including three children.

This is second only to the abortionists who demand to perform human rites by the millions annually, globally, for social, redistributive, clinical, political, criminal, and fair weather progress, in order to keep women affordable, available, and taxable, and the “burden” of evidence, the excess carbon sequestered in darkness.

That said, most people… person do not exercise liberal license to indulge diversity [dogma] (i.e. color judgment, class-based bigotry) with politically congruent (“=”) constructs in clinics, parades, grooming, occupations, mobs, and neighborhoods incursions.

    1. She is preoccupied given Pelosi’s Precedents (PP) and social progress, notable by Feinstein who has been deemed nonviable by democratic/dictatorial empathetic appeal, a “burden” to the party, fit to be replaced by a femimasculine woman… man… candidate who will finally break the feminists’ crystalized ceiling.

  3. I will bet dollars to donuts that if that manifesto contained something related to “White Nationalism” or was some leftist boogyman; excerpts would have been printed in the New York Times along with more calls to deplatform “nazis”. The manifesto likely illustrates the shooters struggle with mental illness and gender dysphoria; and doesn’t fit the leftist narrative..

What is really disgusting are the s@@tlibs who want to make this freak some kind of hero.

    Remember the following:

    There is only one God

    There are only two genders

    Only women can get pregnant.

And anything contrary to the above is just a freak show.

And calling me a slur for saying this changes nothing.

    1. Two sexes: male and female. Two sex-correlated genders (i.e. attributes): masculine and feminine, respectively. A rare transsexual condition. An disordered trans/social parade. A limited transgender spectrum (e.g. homosexual), where there is no pride, but affirmative albinophobic symbols and rhetoric (“Rainbow”).

      1. It’s been a long day, and a tortured week with meetings, presentations and travels. I usually don’t mind reading your comments to wonder WTF you are saying, but today is not one of them. Just speak English for those of us who use nouns, verbs, complete sentences and the occasional prepositional phrases without any dangling modifiers. I have no fricken idea what you usually say but today….i’m not having it

Al pan, pan, y al vino, vino.

        1. I cannot explain something when your question lacks a specific subject. What part don’t you understand?

    2. Amen, and thank you for saying it.

I wonder if there are co-conspirators or other left-leaning entities named in her writings? A continuing investigation into them would make withholding the materials make sense.

      1. That should have been attached to Antonio’s May 5, 2023 at 3:28 PM post, where he states, in part:

        “Remember the following:

        “There is only one God

        “There are only two genders

        “Only women can get pregnant.

“And anything contrary to the above is just a freak show.

“And calling me a slur for saying this changes nothing.”

It is true, fair, and inarguable. It also bears repeating.
