Mary Farren was reportedly so savagely beaten that she lost vision and consciousness in the attack.
Farren worked for both Bush presidents. He was undersecretary for international trade in the Commerce Department for President George H.W. Bush as well as deputy manager of his 1992 re-election campaign and deputy director for his transition team in 1989. He then worked in the White House Counsel’s office for George W. Bush.
Farren is not only a former presidential legal adviser but also the former general counsel at Xerox Corp. His wife is counsel at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom. He is also a member of the board of advisers of the Aspen Institute, where ABA Journal reports he is listed as an “independent legal services professional” in the New York area.
