THE BLOOD MOON RISES

We soon will witness an event that has long been associated with the end of the Earth (fortunate timing before finals for my students): the blood moon. Mars, Earth, and the Sun will all align tonight which happens once every 778 days. However, the red moon is less common (as in only occasionally over 2000 years) and has long been viewed as foretelling the “end of times.”

Joel 2:31 states “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD comes.” Religious figures are already warning that the event foretells “something significant.”

Religious figures often point to historical events occurring with the blood moon like the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1493; the establishment of the States of Israel in 1949; and the Six Day Arab-Israeli War in 1967.

We will be experiencing four — count ’em four — blood moons. This will include April 15 (during Passover), April 4, 2015 (during Passover), September 28, 2014 (during the Feast of the Tabernacles).

Christian Pastor and author John Hagee, predicted a “hugely significant event” and warns that “According to the Biblical prophecy, world history is about to change dramatically.”

I take that to mean that this is the breakout year for both the Chicago Bears and we will once again hold the Vince Lombardi Trophy in the glow of the blood moon. Honestly, that would be worth the end of times.

After all, alignments do not have to be all bad . . .
