Alleged Strangler to Police: “If You Were Married, You Would Understand”

In New Port Richey, Florida, Christopher Bukowski, 39, had a curious defense for the officers after being arrested for trying to choke his wife: “If you were married, you would understand.”

Bukowski met the officers at the scene with the words, “Arrest me. I did it.”

That does not make for a robust criminal defense.

The couple has been married five years.

Bukowski was sent to the Land O’ Lakes Jail on a charge of domestic battery by strangulation.
