Republicans have released an article Coons wrote for the Amherst College newspaper when he was 21 entitled “Chris Coons: The Making of a Bearded Marxist.” He explained how he went from the founder of the Amherst College Republicans to a Marxist during a trip to Kenya. The only thing missing for Republicans is the suggestion that, while in Kenya, Coons destroyed the birth certificate of Barack Obama.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has a curious way of “helping” Coons by referring to him not as a Marxist but his “pet.” Reid is quoted as saying “I’m going to be very honest with you – Chris Coons, everybody knows him in the Democratic caucus. He’s my pet. He’s my favorite candidate.”
It makes Reid sound like Ernst Stavro Blofeld petting Coons and explaining his plans for SPECTRE (not Arlen Specter, but the organization).
So far Coons remains 11 points ahead of O’Donnell indicating that people in Delaware may be more comfortable with alleged Marxists than alleged witches.
In the end, the Delaware campaign does prove Marx correct when he said “History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.”
