Can You Hear Me Now? Chinese Teacher Terminates Cellphone Call in Class

This video of a Chinese teacher responding to a student speaking on his cellphone has appeared on the Internet. I must confess considerable sympathy (and, yes, a degree of vicarious pleasure) in watching her response to a rude student.

Every trip that I take to China shows exponential growth in cellphones — and the thoughtless use of the devices. This is, of course, not unique to China. It is very common for people in many countries to be at a lunch with a group and suddenly start to talk loudly to someone on a cellphone. This student was particularly rude in taking a call in the midst of a lecture. The result no doubt had professors around the world cheering.
