I know that this sound like an urban legend of who the streets of Paris run with chocolate and the public fountains bubble over with sparkling water, but it is true (at least half of it).
The French converted a former garden shed in the Jardin de Reuilly. They installed CO2 cannisters and iced pipes and . . . voilà, sparkling water for the masses. The water will be kept to 7°C/45°F.
Now if they can just get those public escargot dispensers to work . . .
