Chavez’s 48-year-old boyfriend was playing not only with her but their couple’s 10-year-old grandson. Fortunately, the grandson had gone to bed when Chavez grabbed a bottle and hit her boyfriend over the head with it. She then picked up a kitchen knife and began repeatedly stabbing the man.
Chavez presented a somewhat problematic defense case after being found hiding under the porch covered in her boyfriend’s blood and proceeded to say “yes, I fucked him up,” according to the police. They say that she then resisted arrest. Worse yet, she has a record for felony drug possession. She is now charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, battery on a police officer, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
The option below remains her best bet for a criminal defense.
