Shock Video: Police Arrest Tennessee Man Who Allegedly Tried To Kill Friend By Driving Truck Into Convenience Store

YouTube Poster This would be a bad start to a criminal defense case. Police in Nashville, Tennessee have arrested Erik Whitaker, 40, after he drove his truck through the front of a market in pursuit of friend Laquisha Dansby, 37. He is then captured on film stealing a Dodge Durango and crashing it into a delivery truck. That pretty much covers most of the criminal code with the exception of endangered species violations (they may want to look under the truck).

Whitaker, 40, is now charged with two counts of attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, theft, reckless endangerment, and other charges.

Notably, the Dodge Durango SUV belonged to a nurse who thought that Whitaker was having a medical emergency and ran to his aide. Whitaker walked by her and stole her SUV and proceeded to plow into a delivery truck head-on.

Whitaker suffered injuries as did Surendra Patel, the store owner, who suffered head, chest and leg injuries. It may need some explaining for Patel when he fails for insurance in a car accident and puts the location as inside his store.
