Mouse Menudo: Study Finds Mice Can Sing In Unison

Tulane researchers have confirmed that mice can match the pitch of other mice to blend their voices in singing. This may open up a whole new horizon for mouse music promoters.

It has long been known that male mice sing to attract female mice — a cross species technique. However, mice were previously viewed as . . . well . . . dumb. They were not believed to have the capacity for vocal learning. The next step is Mouse Menudo, though it appears that mice will actually have pitch.

Strangely, the scientists appear to have missed this demonstration in the movie “Babe.”
