Some might think that a driver with driving violations might be able to “work something out” in a town called “Bribie,” but this is not that type of place, this was not that type of officer, and most certainly this was not just any violation. The officer saw a door flapping on a car and discovered that it was just held shut with a rope.
Bribis Island police in Australia had to post this one as one of the car pulled over in a crackdown on unsafe vehicles. That would certainly fit the bill.
Bribie Island Police station officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Dave Crawford-Raby said that the rope was tied to the other side of the car and the 46-year-old driver from Bellara was fined $117. I assume he could keep the rope but had to leave the car.
