Ankara Mayor Accuses Erdogan Critic Of Using Genies To Control the Masses

We have followed the rapid destruction of the secular traditions of Turkey by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has succeeded in creating a new Islamic authoritarian regime. With the support of Islamic parties, Erdogan used the recent failed coup to complete his work in arresting his critics, forcing the resignation of thousands of secular academics, and suspending all civil liberties in a proclaimed state of emergency. The United States helped create the tyranny rising in Turkey in its support of Erdogan as he systemically dismantled the only secular, free country in the Arab world. Recently, Erdogan threatened the United States that he wants his greatest critic, US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, delivered to him and that a failure to yield to his demands would be a “big mistake.”  Now, one of Erdogan’s extremist followers, Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek, has suggested that U.S.-based Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen uses genies to “enslave” people.  That’s right, genies.

We have previously discussed the continued belief of Arab government officials in genies.  In this case, Gökçek went public to join Erdogan in using the failed coup as a way to attacking the followers of Gulen.  He went further however to seriously suggest that balck magic is behind his following. It seems that it makes more sense to blame black magic rather than acknowledge that some Turks do not want to ruin the nation with another Islamic government.

Gökçek asked “How can Fethullah Gülen control such a large number of people? What makes him different?” He then answered his own question:

“This may sound funny to you, but he does it with a strange method. He does it with the ‘three-lettered things.’ Everyone now can debate this. He enslaves people with the ‘three-lettered things. It’s obvious that a lot people have been enslaved in previous times and then were saved. He has the ability to do this too. People have become mesmerized and enslaved.”

Actually, it does not sound funny at all. It sounds like a sycophantic enabler to a budding dictator.  What is obvious is the the Islamic parties are taking control of the country and substituting reason with superstition.  This includes the announcement that 20,000 new teachers will be put into place by the Islamic regime to properly indoctrinate the populace.  Presumably, they will be taught of the dangers of genies and the best way to be rid of them . . . and civil liberties.
