Baton Rouge Woman Arrested For Assault With Turkey

Helen Jackson, 52, spent her Thanksgiving in jail for what may be a unique alleged crime: assault by Turkey. The Baton Rouge mother was accused of using her turkey as a weapon as well as holding a knife to the throat of the victim.

There was a police call about a mother and father arguing in the kitchen and Jackson allegedly threatening the victim with a knife. The male victim said that he was arguing with Jackson as he tried to cook the turkey but that Jackson grabbed the turkey and beat him with it. She also held a knife to his throat, he alleged.

Jackson is charged with aggravated assault and domestic abuse battery.
