Kriger appeared in the bank wearing a fake beard, dark glasses, and a baseball cap — passing a written demand for the cash, He reportedly said that his nephew was waiting outside of the Banner Bank in Everett, Washington with a rifle. He threatened that his nephew would shoot people if he heard the alarm or if they failed to give him the money according to the HeraldNet reports. He also demanded keys to the bank manager’s vehicle and told bank employees to “Count to 500 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi etc. etc. etc. before you call police.” It didn’t work. The teller activated the silent alarm and the police descended on the bank.
Washington State bar decision suspended for two years on Dec. 15, 2014 for mismanaging the trust account and owed his son about $50,000. Notably, the bar record shows all but four months of the suspension was withheld in 2014 so Kriger could practice for the last three years. It also suggests that the offense was not treated as the most serious violation (warranting disbarment or a longer suspension).
