Stanci Scheme: Eighteen Year Old Faces 300 Years Over Facebook Sexual Blackmail

This week, we have yet another example of the dangers of Internet sites like Facebook. Anthony Stanci of New Berlin, Wisconsi is looking at a potential of 300 years for a scheme where he allegedly used Facebook to extort money from other teenagers and was charged with five counts of child enticement, two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of third-degree sexual assault, possession of child pornography, repeated sexual assault of the same child and making a bomb threat. That is quite a criminal resume for an 18-year-old first offender who was a student at New Berlin Eisenhower Middle and High School at the time of most of the offenses.
Stanci’s problems began when he was questioned about a bomb threat that closed the New Berlin Eisenhower Middle and High School. He is accused of pretending to be a girl named Kayla or Emily on Facebook and getting students to send him nude pictures. He then allegedly told them that if they did not perform sexual acts with a male friend, the pictures would be made public. Seven boys are listed by initials in the complaint as having performed sex acts on or with Stanci.
He was first put into custody after police said he admitted to emailing a bomb threat. He obviously is not going to get 300 years since most will run concurrently. However, this scheme if proven will cost him most of his life.
