Witnesses say that Correa opened his window and tossed out Princess and that the couple (who are cousins) returned an hour later and marveled openly at the fact that “stupid dog” was still where they threw it. The bystanders wrote down their license plate before they drove off.
Correa insists that the dog jumped out and that they want the dog back because it is the pet of Torres’ 3-year-old daughter. This falls under the defense “it was not our fault, it was the asphalt.”
