New York Teen Charged With Cooking Kitten To Death As “Practical Joke”

Cheyenne Cherry, 17, has “issues” with small animals. She was arrested for cooking a kitten Tiger Lily (shown right) to death as a “joke.” She has a history of crimes relating to small animals.

The New York teen told police it was just a joke and reportedly showed no regret over the crime. She will presumably be tried as an adult, particularly given the media attention and prior record.

Cherry’s explanation to the police was reportedly “I hate cats.” The feeling is probably mutual and shared by most living things who have encountered Cherry.

Police say that Cherry and a friend broke into a neighbors apartment and trashed the interior. She then cooked the kitty as a “practical joke” but throwing it into the oven and turning on the heat.

Remarkably, she said that left the cat to burn rather than listen to its cries and scratching.
She has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, burglary, arson, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Last year, Cherry was charged with armed dog-napping of a teacup Yorkie (left) from a Bronx park. Her boyfriend reportedly put a BB gun to the female owner’s forehead. When the owner posted a $500 reward, Cherry tried to claim it and was arrested. She also has a 2007 arrest for assault.
