Former Prosecutor Suspended for Shoplifting

Former prosecutor and criminal defense attorney Dennis Fisher has been barred from practicing law for another year as punishment for stealing two knives. He was accused of not only stealing the knives but resisting employees who tried to stop him.

He was fired as a prosecutor after his arrest for thefts from stores in Grand Forks and Fargo. In 1997, Fisher was suspended from practicing law for three months after stealing a $60 buck tool and two pairs of shorts.

He is only the latest in a long line of prosecutors and attorneys nailed for shoplifting, here and here.
