.708 Proof: Woman in South Dakota Sets Record in Blood Alcohol Test

Marguerite Engle, 45, has clearly left her mark on the world. The South Dakota police have recorded Engle as having the highest ever blood-alcohol level of .708 percent in the state’s history.

Engle was found passed out behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle parked on Interstate 90. This is not her first arrest. On December 15th, she missed a court date on another stolen car charge.

Her blood-alcohol level was almost nine times South Dakota’s legal limit of .08 percent.

The previous record appears to be .56 percent — making Engle the Lance Armstrong of DUI competitors.

By the way, .40 is considered a lethal dose for most of the population.
