LAWDRAGON: VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE LAWYERS

For many, voting for your favorite lawyers is akin to voting for your favorite parasitic worm, but LawDragon has announced the roughly 3,000 lawyers who made the cut as National Finalists to the annual selection of the top 500 lawyers. I am thankful to have been nominated (here), but the greatest interest is who is also on the list and not on the list of finalists.

The finalist 3000 (here) notably does not include Alberto Gonzales but does include Eric Holder and Michael B. Mukasey.

It includes Supreme Court justices and judges like Richard Posner but not equal notable jurists like Guido Calabresi. It also does not include such notable legal figures as Dawn Johnson, the nominee for the Office of Legal Counsel being blocked by Republican senators.

Also missing are such Bush legal notables as Monica Goodling, Kyle Sampson, or Judge Jay Bybee.

Of course, my dream is seeing kids trading legal cards like baseball cards, but we are a few years off before we see kids bargaining for a Darrow in exchange for a Bailey and a Delmas.
