Poust has been charged with vehicular homicide in the February 17 crash.
He was caught on tape by the school bus’ camera in the accident that injured 41-year-old Freddy Carroll and killed his passenger, Richard Taylor. He had 45 on board when he ran the stop signs and collided into the 1999 Honda Civic. The pictures of the car (here) make it astonishing that both men were not killed.
What is notable is that Poust was previously cited in a November 1999 crash that claimed the life of a two-year-old girl. He told police he was dialing his cell phone when he ran a stop sign and struck the other vehicle in Hilltown Township. Yet, he was able to secure the job driving children to school. Next the school district will hire Megan Barnes to replace him.
