Most Eligible Murderer: Peruvian Women Send Marriage Proposals to Van der Sloot

It appears that allegedly murdering two young women in Aruba and Peru makes you something of a chick magnet. Murder suspect Joran van der Sloot, 22, has received multiple marriage proposals from Peruvian women. In the meantime, one woman (his mother) says “he is not right in the head.”

Van der Sloot is in jail for allegedly killing 21-year-old Peruvian Stephany Flores. He told a newspaper that one woman asked him to help her bear his child.
Notably, in Peru, he faces a sentence of 15 to 35 years, if convicted.

This is a fascinating phenomenon with women and murderers. We saw that same proposals in cases of Eric and Lyle Menendez, Ted Bundy and other famous killers. In the case of Scott Peterson, his first proposal arrived only hours after being put on death row for murdering his wife. Richard Ramirez, the “Night Stalker” who killed 13 people and is a practicing Satanist, married Doreen Lioy, a freelance magazine editor, in 1996 after an 11-year courtship in which she wrote him 75 letters in prison.
