Stieringer expressed anger on her Facebook page to the person who made the photo public: “If u look at the picture, u can see that there is no bowl in the TABACCO (sic) pipe. And i took a pic to show one (expletive) person and it was a mistake. I would never let him get high. . . .Do you realize how serious this is? I can go to jail, and he can be taken away from me. Why would you do something so (expletive) stupid? I’m so nice to everyone. Why would you do this to me?”
If there was no bowl attached to the bong, I fail to see the basis for the child abuse charge after tests for drug exposure of the baby came back negative. Stieringer tested positive for traces of marijuana and is now in both parenting classes and drug counseling. Usually, recreational pot use is not a matter for drug counseling in criminal cases but this is clearly a mother trying to do all she can to keep her child.
Stieringer has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
