Spam Kills: Just Ask The “Black Widow”

Russian officials are now saying that the suicide bomber called the Black Widow who died on New Year’s Eve was the result of an unexpected text message that set off her bomb too early. It may be the first case of death by spam ever recorded.

The woman is believed to be part of the same group that killed scores of people at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport. The message was from her mobile phone operator who wanted her to have a great New Year. She didn’t quite make it. She had already activated the bomb with only a couple hours to go until the attack.

I am not sure of the text nomenclature for such an occasion but time was clearly of the essence. She could have tried to type out “ROTFBMAO” (Rolling On The Floor Blowing My A– Off) or “TMI WYWH.”
