Getting Your Goat: West Virginia Man Arrested After Being Found With Dead Goat After Two-Day Binge on Bath Salts

Ok, it does not get much stranger than this. CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A West Virginia man found wearing women’s underwear and standing over a goat’s carcass told police he was high on bath salts. In West Virginia, Mark L. Thompson, 19, was arrested after witnesses stated that they came into his home and found him wearing a bra and female underwear and covered in blood. At this feet was the dead pygmy goat of his neighbor. Thompson told an officer named Cpl. Snuffer that he was high on “bath salts” and “wasn’t in his right mind.”

Thompson was found standing over the goat by a man sent by the owner — after being told the goat was in Thompson’s house. It is not clear if Thompson thought this would be like the scene in Godfather with Robert Duvall saying “This goat has no family — nobody knows that she worked here. It’ll be as if she never existed.” Well, it didn’t work out that way. The goat was a gift by neighbor Lisa Powers for her 4-year-old grandson. When Powers’ nephew confronted him, Thompson fled the home.

Police later explained that “Thompson said he had been on bath salts for about three days.” High on bath salts? Well, it turns out to be a growing problem with people digesting the salts. Moreover, other stories reveal people high on bath salts stabbing themselves or others. The substance known as the drug – also known as Ivory Coast, Purple Wave or Vanilla Sky has been causing tragic deaths in this and other countries.

Police found a pink leash around the neck of the goat and a pornographic magazine photo lying a few feet away.
