If she had kicked his teeth in, it could have caused less damage but would have been treated more seriously.
In comparison, the dentist recently convicted in using paper clips in root canals faced 15 years in jail and received one jail after pleading guilty. That would seem far less serious that mutilating a patient out of anger.
Clearly, it is a poor idea to go to your recent ex for medical or dental work. However, this crime as the aggravating circumstance of abusing a position of trust.
