New York Woman Allegedly Crashes Into Firehouse After Stolen Snake Wraps Around Her Neck

Sarah Espinosa, 22, of Albany, New York allegedly combined three activities that made for a uniquely bad combination: drinking, driving, . . . and snake theft. Espinosa culminated this poor judgment by succeeding in crashing into a firehouse after the snake reportedly wrapped itself around her neck in Long Island.

Espinosa had allegedly stolen a ball python from a Petco on Long Island. These snakes can grow up to 5 or 6 feet and sell for about $90.

Police say that Espinosa was driving on Jericho Turnpike when she lost control of her Toyota Prius. She then crossed the median and hit a Nissan Maxima in the opposing traffic before crashing into the fire station. She even succeeded in crashing through the main floor and damaging two fire trucks inside. That is quite a day’s work. Fortunately, the response time from fire personnel are at a record low since she crashed into their workplace. Oh and I forgot, she was also found in possession of marijuana.

She has now been charged with reckless endangerment, petit larceny, reckless driving, driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana.

The snake by the way has been returned to Petco but I doubt that any of the other animals will believe the story is most be telling. While the store’s slogan is “where the pets go,” this particular pet went just about as far as you can go while still making it back alive.
