“[Jesus] Wouldn’t Be Riding A Donkey”: Televangelist Calls On Followers To Buy Him A Fourth Private Jet For $54 Million

Screen Shot 2018-05-29 at 8.41.04 PM.pngWe have previously discussed the divine logic used by televangelists to justify their use of private luxury jets. Louisiana televangelist Jesse Duplantis, 68, not only believes that God wants him to have a jet but a fourth jet . . . and for the faithful to pay for it.

Duplantis only lives 25 miles from New Orleans and a major airport, but he put out the call to the faithful that they needed to pony up for another jet aircraft.  His appeal was picked up by the Times Picayune on Monday.

Duplantis believes that Jesus wants him to have a new Dassault Falcon 7X, a three-engine jet with a range of 5,950 nautical miles. Why?

“I really believe that if the Lord Jesus Christ was physically on the Earth today, he wouldn’t be riding a donkey. He’d be in an airplane flying all over the world.”

Duplantis complained that his other jets require frequent fueling stops and that the new luxury jet would be a real money-saver in avoiding having to pay  “those exorbitant prices with jet fuel all over the world.”
He added in his video “I want you to believe in me for a Falcon 7X. Pray about becoming a partner to it.”
What is bizarre that is that he could well get people to buy him another plane.  Duplantis is a preacher of the so-called “prosperity gospel”, which tells followers that they can become wealthy through faith. It appears to give him license to be a conspicuous consumer.
