The political science professor allegedly asked to touch the breasts of four female students between May 8 and 13. He promised to give the students “A’s” in his class if they agreed. His wife, Natasha Ivanova, said the allegations are untrue and said that the professor has now disappeared.
University spokesman Steve Parrott (yes, Iowa has a parrott for a spokesman) said that Miller is also under university investigation and that the University seized 47 sets of e-mails from his computer and found correspondences with 10 students, university staff and other faculty. The e-mails with students allegedly discussed meetings about grades, an extension, a final, assistance and “grades and offer by Miller to negotiate.”
Miller has been on the faculty since 1985. The faculty site currently lists Miller as “on leave.”
Presumably, since he is a state employee, bribery charges can be brought.
