Florida Man Arrested For Tasering His Mother — While Awaiting Charges for Threatening Her With A Sword

Matthew Beider, 23, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, is not exactly the ideal son. Only last month, he was arrested after threatening his mother with a three-foot sword. Now, he has been re-arrested after tasering his mother and then stomping on her as she lay on the floor after being shocked.

Beider allegedly wrestled away the taser from his 56-year-old mother and used it on her as part of the attack. He is facing aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, witness tampering, obstruction of justice and aggravated battery/domestic violence with priors. .

I do not wish to denigrate an entire town, but it does seem that we get a steady stream of these cases from St. Lucie, which acts as a type of perpetual energy machine for legal blog stories, here and here and here.
