Honor Killing: Father and Brother in Germany Kill Woman After Learning That She Is Not a Virgin

We have yet another “honor killing.” In Germany, a Kurdish man, 50, was sentenced to ordering the murder of his own daughter after learning that the 20-year-old woman named Gulsum Semin was no longer a virgin. He reportedly preferred a dead daughter and convinced his son to murder his own sister.

The son and a friend reportedly lured Gulsum to a country road near the Dutch border and then strangled her and beat her to death. Remarkably, Gulsum’s brother, 20, was given only nine and a half years in youth prison — one year less than the maximum youth sentence of 10 years. He confessed to the crime. His friend received only seven years.

The father of ten denied that he conspired with his son to kill his daughter.
