University President Claims Palin Contract Was Stolen

California State University, Stanislaus president Hamid Shirvani has been under attack for reportedly paying Sarah Palin as much as $100,000 for a speech. Shirvani is now charging that someone stole the contract — from the recycling bin — of one of his vice presidents and has demanded a police investigation.

It seems a bit odd to claim a theft from a recycling bin, but Shirvani says that the five-page document was taken from the office of Susana Gajic-Bruyea, vice president for university advancement. Shirvani stated “Susana threw the pages into her recycling bin in her office some time ago. Somebody either broke into her office to get them or it was somebody who had access to her office.”

Shirvani has been criticized for a lack of transparency and a waste of money in the matter.

The contract might confirm some pretty demanding conditions for Palin who has made over $12 million since last July, here. She reportedly demands large jets, fleets of SUVs, and “bendy” straws, here.
