Here Comes the Sun

NASA has unveiled new images of the sun from the Solar Dynamics Observatory, a space telescope designed to study the Sun. They are quite impressive –particularly on Earth Day.

The observatory was launched on February 11th and has been in geosynchronous orbit for the last two months.

It is now streaming back fantastic images as part of a study into the magnetic variable star.
