Police pulled over Korkuc on a traffic stop and heard the wailing of the cat in the trunk. They found the cat “marinating” in a mixture of red peppers, chili pepper, salt and oil. Korkuc insists that the cat was not sitting in the marinade and that she was actually covered in blood after a miscarriage. He says that he was taking her back to the SPCA to get rid of her.
If that is the defense of Korkuc, he may face two immediate problems in court. First, the SPCA cleaned the cat. Second, the SPCA has pointed out that the cat is in fact a male.
In addition to a charge of aggravated animal cruelty, he faces charges for passing a stop sign and failure to signal. After his arrest, he was released on an appearance ticket.
Navarro has black and white markings, weighs 12 pounds and is described as having a good disposition. Adoption hours today at the SPCA, 205 Ensminger, are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
