New York Man Arrested for Allegedly Marinating Cat in Trunk

In Buffalo, Gary L. Korkuc, 51, is facing a particularly disgusting allegation that he was driving around with a cat marinating in his trunk to be eaten later.

Police pulled over Korkuc on a traffic stop and heard the wailing of the cat in the trunk. They found the cat “marinating” in a mixture of red peppers, chili pepper, salt and oil. Korkuc insists that the cat was not sitting in the marinade and that she was actually covered in blood after a miscarriage. He says that he was taking her back to the SPCA to get rid of her.

If that is the defense of Korkuc, he may face two immediate problems in court. First, the SPCA cleaned the cat. Second, the SPCA has pointed out that the cat is in fact a male.

Korkuc has also verbally attacked the cat as “possessive, greedy and wasteful.”

In addition to a charge of aggravated animal cruelty, he faces charges for passing a stop sign and failure to signal. After his arrest, he was released on an appearance ticket.

Navarro has black and white markings, weighs 12 pounds and is described as having a good disposition. Adoption hours today at the SPCA, 205 Ensminger, are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  1. God bless this poor cat. I’m glad he was saved & has a new owner.

Theres no need to be cruel to animals. Give it away or turn it in to a shelter.

  2. You may not think much of him now, but after the zombie apocalypse he’ll be the one with the appropriate survival skills.

  3. BIL, along with that psych review a boxed DVD set of the complete 6 seasons of Top Chef; everyone knows you don’t marinate the meat on the hoof… 😉

  4. One cannibal said to another, “I don’t like my mother-in-law.” The other responded, “Then just eat the soup!”

  5. Many years back a friend got served “chicken” in a dodgy Chinese takeaway in Bradford.
It turned out to be cat, but he thoroughly enjoyed it.

  6. I see a psych review in somebody’s near future.

And a new home for a very lucky kitty.

  7. “Navarro has black and white markings, weighs 12 pounds and is described as having a good disposition”

    And he’s delicious!

  8. I really like how this story was written. Just reading the first paragraph I thought, “OK, that’s weird, but different cultures eat dog so maybe cat isn’t that far out of line?” And then *pow* the cat’s alive in the sauce. Well done, sir.

  9. And the Darwin award goes to …… Korkuc.

I am sorry to say he does look like he would eat your cat and then help you look for it….if there was a reward involved or other feats of felines available….
