“Casting a Spell, Boss:” Inmates Win Right to Keep “Magic Wands” in Cells

There will be no expelliarmus orders in English prisons. English inmates have won the right to keep twigs in their cells to use as wands. This is still better than the American prisoner’s demanding to have Thor’s hammer and sword available to them.

Prison officials have been told to allow inmates to bring and decorate twigs as wands.
Justice Reform Minister Maria Eagle has confirmed that “Religious artefacts are allowed for relevant faiths within the constraints of good order and discipline. The religious artefacts for pagan prisoners include a flexible twig for a wand.”

U.S. prisons do permit Pagan rituals, but specify that wands can be “no larger than a pencil,” click here.
